Gardner SUPPLEMENTARY: TOWNSVILLE TURF CLUB 13 FEBRUARY 2018 Race 4: WWW.TOWNSVILLETURFCLUB.COM.AU QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200MHAMMERTONE – Trainer J. Barr advised Stewards following its disappointing performance the gelding has pleased him since returning to its stable and subsequent blood tests had failed to show any abnormalities. Race 5: TSV TURF CLUB BECOME A MEMBER CLASS 6 PLATE – 1200MSPREADEAGLED – Trainer L. Smerdon advised Stewards that following further monitoring of the gelding after its disappointing first up performance, no abnormalities had been detected and after a brief freshen up will proceed with its preparation. Race 6: HYGAIN OPEN H'CAP - 1300MOLD SMOKEY – Trainer T. Bannon advised Stewards she was of the opinion the gelding did not handle the day’s conditions and it had an extended post-race recovery time. As a result, it is her intention to freshen the horse up before proceeding with its preparation. GENERAL: Stewards today inquired into a complaint raised by trainer Mr S. Potiris against licensed stable-hand Mr R. Miller. After hearing further evidence from Trainers W. Brady, G. Tsakissiris, R. Schluenz and licensed stable-hand Ms M. Potiris. Subsequently both Mr S. Potiris and Mr R. Miller pleaded guilty to charge under AR175 (q) in that they misconducted themselves and exchanged foul abusive language to each other on Tuesday 13 February 2018 at the Innisfail Turf Club. Both Mr Potiris and Mr Miller were fined the sum of $1500.00. Acting under the provisions of AR196 (4) $1000.00 of the fine was suspended for a period of 12 months that they do not breach a similar rule. The start of the program was significantly delayed due a horse (SEVON REASONS) requiring veterinary attention on arrival at the course. Starting time on all races were rescheduled to start. Race 1: 1.45pm, Race 2: 2.20pm, Race 3: 2.55pm, Race 4: 3.30pm, Race 5: 4.05pm RACE 1: BACKPACKERS SHACK RATING BAND 0 – 55 H’CAP 1000M WISTARI – Race greenly for the majority of the race. Shifted out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rider N. Yadi, was fined the sum of $200 in that he used the whip in an excessive manner prior the 100m and on horse that was out of contention. SHORT TERM – Began awkwardly. Improved onto heels near the 800m and was steadied. MY GIRLS A DRAGON – Slow to begin. SNAKE FARLEY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.BOOK A FLIGHT – Laid in rounding the home turn. RACE 2: COLS VINYL & CANVAS OPEN H’CAP – 1000M AROUND THE MOON – Slow to begin. BELLA SASH – Improved onto heels near the 700m and had to restrained. LOVER OF LIFE – Rider F. Edwards reported his saddle shifted near the 100m placing him at a disadvantage. CRAIGLEA ODDYSSEY – Raced wide for the majority of the race. OURBOYBYRON – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a laceration above its offside eye. RACE 3: INNISFAIL SEAFOODS CLASS B H’CAP – 1200M PREMIER PLACE – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inconvenienced near the 1100m. ZIEGELBAUER – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Clipped heels and blundered near the 400. STUDMAN – Rider S. Kaya, was found guilty of a charge under AR137 (a) in that near the 400m he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of ZIEGELBAUER (R. Shred) which clipped that runner heels and blundered. S. Kaya’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 day’s to commence at midnight 17 February 2018 and to expire midnight 26 February 2018. Whilst Stewards took into account what they deemed to be mid- range interference, S. Kaya’s recent riding record was also considered in relation to penalty. RANGERZANE – Began awkwardly and shifted out hampering another runner. Tightened for room and severely checked near the 1100m. SUPER METEOR – Jumped in at the start tightening a runner to its inside. Forced inwards near the 1100m tightening runners to its inside. HOTEL HILLTOP – Tightened for room on jumping away. VOLTAIC – Rider K. Stone, was found guilty of a charge under AR137 (a) in that he directed his mount inwards near 1100m when not sufficiently clear of SUPER METEOR (A. Thomson), which was forced inwards tightening the running of RANGERZANE (W. D’Avila) which had to be severely checked and shift inwards inconveniencing PREMIERE PLAY (M. Abe) which in turn was forced inwards tightening the running of WILL HE TORQUE (D. Simmons) which had to be restrained. K. Stone’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence at midnight 17 February 2018 and to expire midnight 27 February 2018. In considering penalty Stewards deemed this incident to be mid-range and also took into account recent riding breaches under this rule and his personal circumstances. RACE 4: MOURILYAN BAKERY BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1200M ROAD FOX – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping another runner. CRAIGLEA ALDI – Bumped by another runner which shifted out at the start. RAMSDEN STREET – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which finished tailed off failed to reveal any abnormalities. RACE 5: BADDIES GOONDI HILL HOTEL BENCHMARK 50 H'CAP – 1500M BOCAGE – Slow to begin. Restrained near the 1200m when racing in restricted room. PINK STELETTO – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race. CASHED UP BULLY – Slow to begin. REGAL ROTH – Shifted in near the 1200 crowding another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer F. Wieland was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the horse racing again.
