QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT INNISFAIL TURF CLUB SATURDAY 29 JANUARY 2022 WEATHER – OVER- CAST/SHOWERY TRACK RATING – HEAVY (8) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P. GillardStewards – S. Coulthard Clerk of Scales – B. Gray Judge – A. BallardVeterinarian – Tableland Vet Services Swab Attendants – Tableland Vet ServicesStarter – B. Brady GENERAL Due to the 900 metre chute being deemed unsuitable for racing, Races 1 & 2 were amended to be run over 1000 metres, starting on the course proper. As jockey A. Thomson was not riding at todays meeting due to illness she was replaced as per steward’s race-day summary. Ms Thomson was advised she must provide a medical clearance prior to her next race ride. As jockey S. Pawsey was unable to ride at the allotted weights in races 1, 2 and 5 due to personal reasons he was replaced as per steward’s summary. Race 1: KANE PUMPING CLASS 6 PLATE – 1000 Metres KODAI – As the mare had not started for a long period of time it was examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to the race and cleared to start. Slow to begin. Rider C. Jokic informed stewards on returning to scale the mare was making respiratory noises during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abnormal respiratory noises. Trainer J. Manzelmann advised it was his intention that the mare now be retired from racing. Nonetheless Mr Manzelmann was advised that should it return to racing a veterinary clearance with the results of an endoscopic examination be presented prior to its next trial or race start. Race 2: CHERYL-LEE FLORIST BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres ELA BEACH – Blundered on jumping and lost ground causing apprentice rider J. Doolan to become unbalanced and lose her off-side iron until near the 800 metres where she was able to regather it. SAINT NO MORE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority. SILENTUS – Slow to begin. MAMA DON’T DANCE – Rider dropped her whip near the 200 metres. Lost its near hind plate in running. AHRI’S AMORE – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. Race 3: JILLS STATIONERY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200 Metres GENTLEMAN REID – Slow to begin. ART THIEF – Slow to begin. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which was having its first start from a spell failed to reveal any abnormalities. MISHANI DUDE – Slow to begin.DECATH – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. Race 4: MIDWAY BUTCHERS CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200 Metres SUPER ROSE – Slow to begin. SHE’S IMPERIAL – Raced wide for the majority of the race. MISSION ROAD – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 5: TABLELAND VET SERVICES CLASS B HANDICAP – 1500 Metres MALACHINI – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. LADY SNITCH – Shifted wider to improve leaving the 800 metres and raced wide from that point onwards. GAMETIME – Raced wide in the early stages.
