THE LOUT – Began awkwardly. ARCHIE'S LAW – Shifted in at the start bumping with NANNA BAX. Shortly after was bumped by NANNA BAX which shifted out and raced in restricted room bumping a number of times. NANNA BAX – Bumped on jumping. Shortly after the start shifted out bumping ARCHIE’S LAW a number of times. REBOZO – Began awkwardly and shifted in shortly after the start placing ARCHIES LAWin restricted room for a short distance.Raced greenly for the majority of the race and as a result raced wide. NARRABRI COCO – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.SONNIE – Improved onto heels after being crossed near the 800 metres and was restrained. LORD POWER – Shifted out under pressure approaching the winning post hampering REBOZO. Race 2: TROPICANNA BANANA QTIS Maiden Plate 900 Metres HEROIC KITTY – Trainer R. Kirkwood was severely reprimanded in that he failed to comply with a steward’s directive and apply for permitted overweight of the filly by the appropriate time. CODY'S BOY – Delayed the start when difficult to load. Trainer F. Wieland was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barriers manners. Commenced to race greenly when brushed by MISHANI HURRICANE which shifted in near the 800 metres and then shifted in bumping WHITTY’S DREAM which became unbalanced and shifted in bumping BEAN WARRIOR on the hind quarters which became unbalanced and shifted in tightening the running of JEAN LAFITTE which was checked when becoming awkward on the heels of BEAN WARRIOR when bumped by ROTHERO ESSGEE which shifted out. Raced wide for the majority of the race. MISHANI HURRICANE – Shifted in brushing CODY’S BOY near the 800 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race. WHITTY'S DREAM – Bumped near the 800 metres becoming unbalanced and shifted in bumping BEAN WARRIOR. BEAN WARRIOR – Bumped on the hind quarters near the 800 metres becoming unbalanced and shifted in bumping JEAN LAFITTE.JEAN LAFITTE – Began awkwardly. Tightened for room near the 800 metres and checked after becoming awkward on heels BEAN WARRIOR when bumped by ROTHERO ESSGEE which shifted out. ROTHERO ESSGEE – Shifted out leaving the 800 metres bumping JEAN LAFITTE. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. Following the running of this race and deuteriation of the track, stewards down graded the track to a Soft (6) Race 3: LINDSAY AUSTRALIA / MACKAY MARKETING BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1100 Metres ASSETS – Fractious in the saddling enclosure and during its preliminary. Trainer C. Morrison was a advised a warning would be placed on its pre-race manners. SHE'S A SINNER – Slow to begin. ZAKHEERA – Slow to begin. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. TEXAS TARGET – Bumped at the start. BASTILLE DAY – Bumped at the start. Hampered approaching the winning post. Raced wide for the majority of the race. BE FAMOUS – Bumped on jumping and shifted out bumping BASTILLE DAY. KID MAC – Shifted out shortly after the start bumping BE FAMOUS. SOLOMON – Bumped at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the race. HANEDA – Forced wider shortly after the start. MYMILL – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages hampering BASTILLE DAY. Rider M. Abe was reprimanded and advised to straighten his mounts when shifting ground. Race 4: SPAGNOLO RARE FRUITS / KANE PUMPING BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1100 Metres SAINT NO MORE – Delayed the start after escaping the clerk of the course riderless before jumping a fence and galloping onto the adjacent golf course. Stewards declared the gelding a late scratching at 1.02pm. Prior to the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered all monies wagered on SAINT NO MORE to be refunded with the following deductions to be applicable to all successful wages placed on the event prior to 1.02pm. 1st place Captivated – 4 cents in the dollar on the value of all win bets, 3 cents in the dollar on the value of all place bets.2nd place – Sir Roland – 3 cents in the dollar.3rd place – Yabulu Princess – 5 cents in the dollar. A subsequent veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. PURPOSEFUL MISS – Slow to begin. BELLE ADELE – Slow to begin. CAPTIVATED – Raced wide for the majority of the race. EM CEE GEE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. VIENNA CRUISE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. QUEENOFMAINSTREET – Raced wide for the majority of the race. DESERT SUNDOWN – Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off-front leg. Trainer T. Rowe was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to its next trial or race start.Race 5: BLENNERS TRANSPORT / OPAL FIBRE AUSTRALIAN BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 900 Metres DON'T WHISPER – Began awkwardly.CAIERON – Slow to begin. SWAHILI MAI – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Rider dropped her whip leaving the 200 metres. BIG FLASH – Shifted out shortly after the start tightening SWAHILI MAI. STRATEGIST – Raced wide rounding the home-turn. EXACTAMENTE – Raced wide rounding the home-turn. MY SISTER SAL – Laid out near 500 metres. Raced wide rounding the home-turn. Race 6: TODD'S TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1500 Metres ROTH'N'BELL – Slow to begin. JOEL – Steadied off heels near the 1200 metres. PLATINUM DEAL – Raced in restricted room near the 1250 metres and was steadied.OWNED UP – Raced wide for the majority of the race. ZABERFELDIE (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority of the race. TICTOC TICTOC – Rider M. Abe was fined the sum of $200 under the provision of AR131(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out to the finish of the race. In considering penalty stewards considered the distance from the winning post jockey Abe has ceased applying pressure however could not be satisfied this had cost the gelding fourth place. Race 7: BANANA FEEDS AUSTRALIA / SWEETER SOILS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1500 Metres STRETCHING –Trainer L. McCormack was severely reprimanded in that she failed to comply with a steward’s directive and apply for permitted overweight of the gelding by the appropriate time. Raced wide for the majority of the race. MACH SEVEN – Slow to begin. ZOUNATE – Stood flat-footed and then shifted out abruptly causing jockey W. D’Avila to slip from the saddle and had no competitive part in the race. Trainer S. Royes was advised the gelding will be required to gain two further, consecutive barrier certificates prior to being permitted to race again. Jockey D’Avila declared him free of any injury. I LOVE ROCK'N'ROLL – Wide in the early stages.AS YAWOOD – Steadied off heels near the 1200 metres. MYSTERY 'N' MAGIC – Raced wide for the majority of the race. CANADIAN COMET – Performed disappointedly. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up post-race with trainer P. Rowe. Race 8: LAMANNA PREMIER GROUP BANANA CUP OPEN Handicap1800 Metres STAR STATUS – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Rider N. Yadi was reprimanded in relation to his use of the whip being forward of his mounts shoulder under the provisions of AR132(6)(a). PLAY ME NOW (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Shifted in on the turn out of the straight on the first occasion when not fully clear of SALESMAN. Rider J. Baker was severely reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground. When asked to explain his riding of the gelding approaching the winning post jockey J. Baker explained that he became unbalanced approaching the winning post and for that reason was unable to ride the gelding out strongly to finish. Stewards noted his explanation.SOUTHERN SWING – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. BUSTER BLOCK – Made the crossing on the turn out of the straight on the first occasion awkwardly, becoming awkwardly placed on heels. SALESMAN – Over-raced in the early stages. Restrained near the 1550 metres when tightened for room. LOVE FLIES – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Race 9: AUSTRALIAN BANANAS / HORTICULTURE INNOVATION OPEN Handicap 1200 Metres DANAWI – Trainer C. Attard was severely reprimanded in that he failed to comply with a steward’s directive and apply for permitted overweight of the gelding by the appropriate time. After being slow to begin was then bumped by LOUD NOISE which shifted in. VALIDAR – As jockey J. Baker was to be overweight, he was replaced by L. McCoy.Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by jockey Baker. Began very awkwardly and lost ground. LOUD NOISE – Shifted in shortly after the start bumping DANAWI.Bumped leaving the 200 metres. TEMPO (NZ) – Over-raced early stages. Crowded for room near the 800 metres and was steadied. BOLD TYPE – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race. EL OF A SAGA – Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted out under pressure leaving the 200 metres bumping heavily with CUPID’S SON which became unbalanced. Rider D. Smith was severely reprimanded and advised to stop riding and straighten his mounts when shifting ground. VERBALIZER (NZ) – Laid in near the 800 metres crowding TEMPO despite the efforts of its rider. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
