Race 1: CONSIDER IT DONE BM55 Handicap 1500 metres
 
MISTER LARRABEE – Slow to begin.

THE BEAT GOES ON – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
DESERT SUNDOWN – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in the off-front leg. Trainers T & P Rowe were advised they must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to it being permitted to race again.
 
Race 2: COOKTOWN HARDWARE Maiden Plate 900 metres
 
ALONTRO – After being slow to begin was tightened for room and clipped the heels of FIFI OF BOOM which was forced out and as a result lost ground.A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
SCAMDEMIC – Jumped in at the start bumping HYPOTHESIZE.
 
HYPOTHESIZE – Bumped on jumping.
 
LATE NIGHT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
WINDPIPE – Shifted out at the start forcing FIFI OF BOOM out. Shifted out under pressure neat the 100 metres forcing BELLA’S IN COMMAND wider.
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a soft (7)
 
ACT OF ROYALTY – Began awkwardly and shifted out forcingBELLA’S COMMAND wider. Shifted ground under pressure in the home straight and shifted out approaching the winning post crowding MISS BOSSY. Apprentice jockey J. Doolan was reprimanded and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.    
 
BELLA'S IN COMMAND – Forced outwards at the start. Forced wider near the 100 metres.
 
FIFI OF DOOM – Forced outwards on jumping tightening ALONTRO. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
MISS BOSSY – Restrained approaching the winning post when crowded for room. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 3: MOSSMAN HARDWARE OPEN Handicap 900 metres
 
SPLASHER – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground.
 
SYLVESTER – Crowded for room approaching the winning post.
 
CUPID'S SON – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
LOUD NOISE – Raced wide for the majority.
 
PRIMAL SCREAM – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 4: TABLELAND HARDWARE Class 3 Plate 900 metres
 
MASARED – Raced wide majority.
 
DON'T DOUBT HINCHI – Raced wide majority.
 
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a soft (6) retrospective.
 
Race 5: CAIRNS HARDWARE BM60 Handicap 1100 metres
 
WINDS OF WAR – Slow to begin.
 
DELUSIONAL – Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority.
 
WHISPERING TYCOON – Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority. When asked to explain its seemingly disappointing performance rider F. Edwards stated the gelding felt flat and did not respond to his riding. Trainer R. Ludwig explained that with its allotted weight today and in his opinion the gelding does not appreciate a soft surface WHISPERING TYCOON was disappointing however is further of the opinion it may have come to the end of its preparation and consideration will be given to the gelding being sent for a spell.
 
Race 6: TOWNSVILLE HARDWARE Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
SHADOW ECLIPSE – As the gelding had not raced for an extended period it underwent a pre- race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.Shifted in at the start bumping MR BROWN.Rider N. Nelson dropped her whip near the 400 metres. 
 
JESKO – Slow to begin.
 
MERRY OLD SOUL (NZ) – Bumped on jumping.
 
MR BROWN – Bumped on jumping and shifted in bumping CRAIGLEA CLIO which lost ground.Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
CRAIGLEA CLIO – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Laid in majority of race.A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
DUYFKEN – Raced wide for the majority. Rider N. Yadi was reprimanded under the provisions AR 132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres which is two more times than is permitted.
 
MISS STARLETTE – Raced wide for the majority. 
 
PAPARAZZI ROCKET – Subsequent to the running of race 8, it was brought to attention of stewards that the mare had become cantankerous in the swabbing area and as such no post-race swab sample was taken. Trainer T. Rowe was advised should this continue to be an ongoing issue with swabbing procedures required, the nomination of PAPARAZZI ROCKET may be declined at future race meetings.
 
RISKED IT – Lost its off-hind plate during running.  
 
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a soft (5).
 
Race 7: HERBERT HALL HARDWARE Class 6 Plate 1200 metres
 
LORD OF LIGHT – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages crowding LOVE ON SUNDAY. Rider F. Edwards was advised to exercise more care. Saddle shifted to the near side leaving the 150 metres placing its rider at a disadvantage.

LOVE ON SUNDAY – Crowded over the concluding stages. Laid in over the concluding stages crowding TRIGGER. Jockey N. Day was advised to exercise more care.
 
TRIGGER – Crowded for room over the concluding stages and steadied approaching the winning post.
 
Race 8: INNISFAIL HARDWARE QTIS Class 1 Handicap1200 metres
 
ELVIARE – Shifted in momentarily neat the 1000 metres crowding TOUCH OF BALI.   Raced wide for the majority. Rider M. Abe felt something was amiss on pulling up and dismounted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.    
 
TOUCH OF BALI – Crowded for room near the 1000 metres.
 
 QUEENSLANDER – Raced wide for the majority. 
 
TODWICK – Raced wide for the majority.  

FINE IMPACT – Raced ungenerously putting in awkward strides soon after the start and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer F. Wieland was advised the mare must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again. Mr Wieland further advised it is now his intention FINE IMPACT be sent for an immediate spell.
