Race 1: BANANA INDUSTRY RACEDAY / HORTICULTURE INNOVATION
BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP – 900 METRES

THE LOUT – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.
 
AMELIA'S RAINBOW – Slow to begin.
 
HELLO NEWMAN – Slow to begin. Crowded for room near the 500 metres
and was checked.
 
CODY'S BOY – Began awkwardly.
 
SIR ROLAND – Commenced to race ungenerously soon after the start
and hung in before being corrected. Raced wide for the majority.    
 
TALANTINO – Crowded for room near the 500 metres and shifted in
crowding HEELO NEWMAN.    
 
WINDPIPE – Made the 500 metre turn awkwardly and shifted in
crowding ZAPLUCK. When being corrected shifted out clipping another
runner’s heels. Raced wide for the majority.
   
ZAPLUCK – Crowded for room near the 500 metres and shifted in crowding
TALANTINO.
 
Stewards inquired into the reason HELLO NEWMAN was checked near the 500
metres. After considering all of the evidence and watching available footage it was
established that WINDPIPE made the 500 metres turn awkwardly and shifted in
slightly crowding ZAPLUCK which in turn shifted in crowding TALANTINO which
shifted in crowding HELLO NEWMAN.  
 
On returning to scale jockey L. Morrison, rider of third placed (AIR FORCE ACE)
requested to view the photo finish as she was of the opinion her mount had in fact
finished second place. After reviewing the photo print with Ms Morrison in the
presence of stewards, judge Mr R Ballard amended the placings to read 1st Bean
Warrior, 2nd Airforce Force Ace, 3rd The Lout, 4th Cody’s Boy and correct weight was
declared.         
 
Race 2: TODD'S TRANSPORT / MACKAYS MARKETING OPEN HANDICAP –
1100 METRES
  
STARFILLY – Stood flat footed and lost considerable ground. Trainer A.
Malliff was advised the filly must obtain a further barrier certificate prior
to being permitted to race again.   
 
BRILLIANT MIND – As the gelding had not started for an extended period it
underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Steadied
near the 700 metres when hampered by SILENT EXPLORER which shifted
out.
 
MACEDON FLYER – Raced wide for the majority without cover.
 
RUBY JULY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
SILENT EXPLORER – Bumped near the 700 metres and shifted out
hampering BRILLIANT MIND. Raced wide for the majority.   
 
STRATEGIST – Raced in restricted room near the 900 metres and was
steadied. Again raced in restricted room near the 700 metres and
shifted out bumping SILENT EXPLORER and became unbalanced.   

Race 3: GLOBAL TURF PROJECTS CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

HYPOTHESIZE – Delayed the start when it lost its off front plate requiring
farrier attention.
 
HEY BULL – Slow to begin.
 
MISSA STITCH – Slow to begin.
 
MYZAH – Bumped shortly after the start.
  
NUCLEAR GIRL – Began awkwardly.
   
BOOM KING – Shifted in soon after the start bumping MYZAH.                    
 
ENUFF ROSES – Raced for the majority.    
  
TAORMINA RHYTHM – Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a soft (6)
 
Race 4: BLENNERS TRANSPORT / OPAL FIBRE AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 55
HANDICAP – 1500 METRES
 
DEVINE WITT – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed
a small laceration to the near side of its tongue.                                           
 
MODERN LEGEND – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
   
STAR INES – Slow to begin.
 
NOTHIN' BUT LOOKS – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
 
PREMIUM STAR – Over-raced middle stages.   
 
Race 5: AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE PARTNERS / LINDSAY AUSTRALIA QTIS
MAIDEN PLATE – 1500 METRES

ATHENA'S SECRET – As apprentice J. Doolan was not riding at today’s
meeting due to illness, she was replaced by apprentice L. Guernier.Ms
Doolan was advised she must provide a medical clearance prior to her next
race ride. Slow to begin.
 
HOT VALOUR – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer
F. Wieland was advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners.
Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.                    
 
LIZA IN LIGHTS – Slow to begin.
                                       
GREAT SURVEY – Over-raced in the early stages.
                                 
MISHANI TYCOON – Restrained near 1300 metres when the pace
slackened. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race
veterinary examination revealed an injury to its off hind hoof. Trainer J.
Manzelmann was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to
it racing or trialling.                 
 
MUMBO BOWLER – Restrained near 1300 metres when the pace
slackened.
 
SIRENE ROUGE – Apprentice J. Edwards was cautioned in relation to her steadying
the pace near the 1300 metres which resulted in runners following having to restrained.
This was also brought to the attention of her master Mr R. Miller.   
 
SHADOW ECLIPSE – Raced wide for the majority.                                            
 
Race 6: PREMIER FRESH AUSTRALIA BANANA CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 1800
METRES
 
STAR STATUS – Slow to begin.
         
TUTELAGE – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Over-raced for a
short distance in the middle stages.    
 
LOVE ON SUNDAY – Bounded in the air on jumping.   

PLAY ME NOW (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle
stages.
 
RED LIGHT ROXANNE – Restrained to improve to the inside of LOVE ON
SUNDAY near the 300 metres.
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow the riders of PLAY ME NOW (App I. Teh) and
STAR STATUS (M. Butler) which dead-heated for second to view the photo finish.After viewing the print all were agreeable with the judges decission.
