Brady SUPPLEMENTRY REPORT: Ladbrokes Cannon Park – Sunday 28 January 2024 Race 5: GARY RICHES BUILDERS MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1250 M VIGNERON – When asked to explain the gelding’s performance trainer R. Chillemi advised steward’s that in his opinion VIGERON may be better suited to rain effected surfaces as his previous form suggests, however with that in mind and its performance on the day the gelding has been sent for an immediate spell. Stewards noted his explanation. General: As the following runners had not raced for an extended period, they all underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were cleared to start.Race 1, Beyond Reproach, Fused Magic Race 1: COLS VINYL & CANVAS BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP – 900 Metres The start of this race was delayed due to the ambulance arriving late on course. EVIL WOMAN – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Raced wide for the majority. BOHEMIAN FLYER – Raced wide for the majority. BEYOND REPROACH – Raced wide for the majority. MAGIC FUSE – Lost its off fore plate during running. Race 2: BACKPACKER SHACK OPEN HANDICAP – 900 Metres MACEDON FLYER – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and began awkwardly. MALVAGIO – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and began awkwardly. Following this event all remaining races were brought forward in an effort to avoid pending storms in the area. Race 3: CARANA HAIR & BEAUTY BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1100 Metres GUAPO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. SARANDOS – Compounded over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor case of the thumps. Race 4: DRM PLUMBING QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100 Metres GEORGE TOWN – Slow to begin. Collided with SHORT NAP on pulling up dislodging rider D. Smith who appeared to have escaped any injury. After being examined by the QAS officers was cleared to fulfil his further engagements.In this incident GEORGE TOWN escaped off course for a short period before being caught. A post-race veterinary examination of GEORGE TOWN revealed superficial lacerations to its near and off front legs and also its off-hind leg. SHORT NAP – Slow to begin. Collided with GEORGE TOWN on pulling up dislodging rider G. Kliese who appeared to have escaped any injury. After being examined by the QAS officers was cleared to fulfil his further engagements.A post-race veterinary examination of SHORT NAP revealed no abnormalities. Race 5: INNISFAIL STOCKFEED & SADDERLY BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1200 Metres AMBER'S POWER – Shifted out at the start forcing PAPARAZZI ROCKET out onto AUGUSTA REVOLUTION. AMBERS POWER continued to shift out despite the efforts of its rider, forcing those runners out inconveniencing runners to their outside. PAPARAZZI ROCKET – Was tightened for room on jumping and again shortly after was forced wider bumping heavily with AUGUSTA REVOLUTION. AUGUSTA REVOLUTION – Was tightened for room on jumping and again shortly after was forced wider bumping heavily with Eye Of Ra. EYE OF RA – Bumped heavily and checked soon after the start. Raced wide for the majority. ROSE OF ATHENS – Bumped on the hind quarters soon after the start and became unbalanced. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 6: DALTOS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres Nil Report.
