Gillard Stewards – S. Copelin, Cadet Steward A. Holzhauser, Assistant Steward Y. Walburgh Schmidt Race 1: TABLELAND HARDWARE BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP – 900 Metres HELLO NEWMAN – Was declared a late scratching at 12.30pm when no suitable rider was available to fulfil the engagement. MERRY OLD SOUL (NZ) – Slow to begin.ENUFF ROSES – Slow to begin. GROVERS PREDICTION – Slow to begin. Blundered near the 400 metres and was restrained. A post-race veterinary examination of GROVERS PREDICTION identified the presence of blood in the right nostril. GROVERS PREDICTION shall before racing again be required to undergo a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(8) Trainer K. Allender advised stewards it is her intention the filly be sent for an immediate spell. A track inspection was completed in the vicinity of the 400 metres and deemed safe for racing. SMART THINKER – Raced wide for the majority. BELLA'S IN COMMAND – Raced wide for the majority. ARROGANT HEART – Raced wide for the majority. Race 2: INNISFAIL HARDWARE QTIS OPEN HANDICAP – 1100 MetresYES DREAM – Blundered soon after the start. Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race. PRIME RULER – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Shifted out bumping DESERT COWBOY near the 300 metres. DESERT COWBOY – Bumped near the 300 metres and was unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Trainer T. Rowe advised stewards should anything come to his attention after the gelding returned to its stable he would notify accordingly. MISSILE THUNDER – Raced in restricted room approaching the winning post after improving onto heels and was checked. ALI'S JAB – Raced wide for the majority. GULF OF LION – Jockey G. Kliese explained on returning to the scales that it was not his intention to lead today however after beginning only fairly was urged forward and commenced to race keenly and improved to the front. CALL ME MO – Lost its near fore plate during running. Race 3: CAIRNS HARDWARE MAIDEN PLATE – 1200 MetresSHIHO – Tendency to over-race in the early stages. TYCOON GRACE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Jockey C. Jokic explained on returning to the scales the mare put in an awkward stride near the 900 metres and never felt comfortable thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off-foreleg. Trainer A. Malliff was advised he must obtain a veterinary clearance of fitness prior to its next race or trial. Race 4: HERBERT HALL HARDWARE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1500MetresCETSHWAYO – Refused to jump and was retired from the race. Trainer S. Bush was advised the horse must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again.EDIFICATION – Slow into stride. RELIABLE DUDE (NZ) – Slow into stride. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to off-hind fetlock. Trainer M. Potiris was advised she would need to provide a veterinary clearance of fitness prior to its next race or trial. LAST ROYAL – Commenced to over-race approaching the 1200 metres making the turn awkwardly and lost ground when being restrained when racing ungenerously until leaving the 1000 metres. Laid in under pressure leaving the 200 metres having to be corrected near the 150 metres. MEDAL (NZ) – Resented racing in restricted room to the inside of LAST ROYAL near the 400 metres and checked out of it. LADY OF FORTUNE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Rider T. Leslight advised stewards that in his opinion the mare may have not backed up from its previous start at Atherton 15 June 2024 and again racing on firm surface today. Race 5: CONSIDER IT DONE MAGIC MILLIONS/ROB KOCH MEMORIAL/FNQU&C STAYERS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 2000 MetresSHADOW ECLIPSE – Delayed the start when reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Trainer N. Nelson was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings parading manners. MONASTERY – Jumped out the start inconveniencing runners to its outside. Finished tailed off. Jockey C. Spry advised stewards the gelding was not comfortable in its action throughout the race. Trainer L. Gordy advised it is his intention it will be sent for an immediate spell. As Mr Gordy had left the course prior to a veterinary examination being completed he was advised he must provide veterinary clearance prior to MONASTERY being permitted to race or trial again. SECRET LOCATION – Bumped on jumping. MELANIN (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide rounding the turn out of the straight on first accession before improving forward to lead.
