Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer S. Seymour that due to technical issues he was unable to scratch Race 1, Pluck “N” Tango, Tonatiuh and Race 4, Bloomin’ Ready, Battalion by the declared scratching time and as such all runners were declared late scratchings at 10.50am.    

Race 1: RUSHWAY TRANSPORT / OPAL PACKAGING QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 900 Metres
 
MISSY LYN – As the mare had not competed for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Bounded in the air and lost ground at the start.
 
HOOFIN' BAR – Slow to begin.
 
MISSISSIPPI ALIBI – Slow to begin.    
 
JAAKUNA – Raced wide for the majority.
 
PENNY'S INTENT – Raced wide for the majority.  
   
Race 2: LINDSAY AUSTRALIA / AUST PRODUCE PARTNERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP –
1200 Metres
 
ENUFF ROSES – Trainer M. Potiris was reprimanded under the provisions of LR 67(1) for the late declaration of rider.  
 
IMPARDOO – Slow to begin.    
 
ALL TO DO – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off front leg. Connections were advised a veterinary certificate of fitness must be provided prior to the gelding trialling or racing again.
 
WITNESS ATTACK – Slow to begin.     
 
NO LOVE LOST – Rider C. Spry advised steward’s on returning to scale that whilst the gelding, in his opinion, was disappointing, it may not have been comfortable on today’s heavy track conditions. Trainer B. Thomson was agreeable with jockey Spry and further added she feels NO LOVE LOST races better when able to lead on its own and not be taken on.  
 
ROTHGURL – Raced wide in the early stages.  
 
Race 3: BLENNERS TRANSPORT / MACKAYS MARKETING OPEN HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
 
MIKADO – Was declared a late scratching at 11:10am when found lame when being loaded on float for transit to the course. Trainer A. Malliff was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to the gelding trialling or racing again.
 
MISSILE THUNDER – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages.  
 
INVESTOR – Slow to begin.    
 
YES DREAM – Raced keenly in the early stages.    
 
CRYSTAL CHIEF – Raced wide in the early stages.   
 
CROWNING MOMENT – Raced keenly in the early stages.       

Race 4: TODDS TRANSPORT / HORTICULTURE AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP –
1500 Metres
 
MELANIN (NZ) – Steward’s accepted trainer M. Potiris’ explanation for the late declaration of rider.
 
LITTLE RED PEPPER – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Saddle shifted back on jumping placing jockey G. Kliese at a disadvantage. Over-raced in the early stages.  
    
MCNAIR (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
MISS WHITE – Slow to begin.
 
RIVALON – Raced wide for the majority.  
      
MISS FUBULICIOUS – Finished tailed off. Jockey M. Abe advised stewards the mare failed to handle today’s heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.    
   
HELLO NEWMAN – Stewards noted rider N. Yadi exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m (+3) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); given the totality of the whip use, a reprimand was issued.    
  
Race 5: PREMIER FRESH AUSTRALIAN BANANA CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 1800 Metres
 
FIFTH POSITION (IRE) – Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted wider to improve leaving the 1200
metres.   
 
FORGIATO – Restrained off heels near the 1400 metres.
 
VIVENZO – The near side winker became unattached near the 800 metres.
   
ARMOUR FORCE – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.     
    
LOVE ON SUNDAY – Raced wide for the majority.
