SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

From ITC 30.12.11 – Race 6: Stewards today continued the inquiry into an incident at the 200m. At an initial inquiry J. Byrne, the rider of BACK IN LOUISIANA, was charged with a contravention of AR. 137(a) for being careless in allowing his mount to shift in near the 200m tightening the running of AUBURN GOLD (R. McMahon). The inquiry was adjourned on the day at the request of J. Byrne to enable apprentice B. Richardson, the rider of CARSON’S FELT, to attend the inquiry. After considering the evidence of J. Byrne, stewards elected not to proceed with the charge as it was considered that the degree of contribution by J. Byrne to the interference suffered by AUBURN GOLD was at that point not to the required standard that would deem the rider to be culpable.

From Eagle Farm 7.1.12 – Race 4: J. Warrington, the rider of DANCING CRIMINALS, was fined $200 under AR. 137A(5)(a)(i) for using the whip in a forehand manner in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.

Race 1: SATURDAY RACING AT ITC TOMORROW MAIDEN PLATE – 1666M
1st – Utmost Faith 2nd – Bakobi 3rd – Funhouse 4th – Realee

VANITY ACT (J. Brown) was inspected by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers after the horse dislodged its rider en route to the barriers and after examination was passed fit to start.

REALEE (A. Smith) knuckled over on jumping away.

VANITY ACT began awkwardly.

HOARFROST (B. Wallace) was slow to begin.

HOARFROST raced wide from the 1000m.

Approaching the 300m STRATEGICAL PLAN (M. Hellyer) was crowded for room when racing between FUNHOUSE (R. McMahon) and MAYWYNINTHESPRING (A. Pattillo), which was taken out by BAKOBI (G. Colless).

MAYWYNINTHESPRING was inclined to lay in under pressure in the early stages of the straight.

Apprentice B. Wallace reported that HOARFROST was inclined to hang in for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination of HOARFROST revealed no significant findings.

Race 2: WWW.IPSWICHTURFCLUB.COM.AU MAIDEN H’CAP – 800M
1st – Sunsets On Fire 2nd – Sequillian 3rd – I’m Over It 4th – New Ranger

SEQUILLIAN (B. Richardson) was slow to begin.

DODGIE TRADING (S. Egan) raced greenly in the early stages.

STEEL TO THE HEEL (G. Colless) and RAHULA (M. Hellyer) raced wide throughout.

S. Apthorpe, the rider of PRINCESS PEACH, dropped his whip near the 150m.

I’M OVER IT (K. Gates) shifted out under pressure over the final 100m and in doing so took NEW RANGER (N. Yamada) and STEEL TO THE HEEL wider on the track.

An inquiry will be held at a later date into the reason for N. Yamada being dislodged from NEW RANGER after the finish of the event near the 1500m point of the track. N. Yamada was subsequently transported to hospital and stood down from his remaining engagement.

Race 3: WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/IPSWICH.TURFCLUB MAIDEN H’CAP - 1200M
1st – Myelliot 2nd – Pukekura Boy 3rd – Fearless Warrior 4th – Parolaroller

BIG DREAMS (D. Missen) was slow to begin, resulting in the horse losing valuable ground.

Approaching the 900m BIG DREAMS overraced fiercely at the heels of ASHA SECRET (J. Taylor) and shifted out forcing SECRET CIRCUS (K. Yoshida) wider on the track. SECRET CIRCUS was then obliged to race wide for the remainder of the event. BIG DREAMS continued to race ungenerously until near the 600m. Trainer L. Birchley’s representative was advised that BIG DREAMS must trial to the satisfaction of stewards before the gelding again races.

PUKEKURA BOY (J. Byrne) blundered on two occasions near the 800m. PUKEKURA BOY again blundered near the 500m.

Approaching the 800m PAROLAROLLER (P. Hammersley) had to be steadied off the heels of MYELLIOT (B. Looker) when that horse shifted in.

ASHA SECRET yielded ground badly over the final 500m.

Race 4: WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/IPSWICHTC QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1200M
1st – Gatineau River 2nd – Gypsy Pearl 3rd – Veico 4th – Susashi

Stewards noted there were mitigating circumstances regarding the late rider notification for SUGAR DADDY in this event.

LIUZZI was a late scratching at 8.40 a.m. on veterinary advice. A veterinary certificate will be required before the gelding again race.

As N. Yamada had been injured in Race 2, J. Taylor was substituted as the rider of MARIA LAURINA.

Near the 900m SUGAR DADDY (B. Looker) was tightened for room racing to the inside of OUTBACK PRIDE (B. Richardson), which shifted in.

P. Hammersley reported that JEKAMA felt sore in front. A post-race veterinary examination of JEKAMA revealed no significant abnormalities.

Stewards opened an inquiry into the handling of SUSASHI (D. Missen) in the early and middle stages of the event where SUSASHI established a clear lead. After taking evidence from jockey D. Missen and trainer S. Ryan the inquiry was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed. A post-race veterinary examination of SUSASHI revealed no significant abnormalities at the time of examination.

Race 5: WEDDINGS AND PARTIES BOOK NOW AT ITC CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1000M
1st – Stay Put 2nd – Sky Lucy 3rd – Jamais Contente 4th – You’re Blessed

COSMO GAL (J. Byrne) had a tendency to hang in in the early stages of the event.

RUSHATUS (S. Bogenhuber) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Apprentice S. Egan, the rider of SKY LUCY, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that between the 800m and the 700m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of YOU’RE BLESSED (A. Smith), resulting in YOU’RE BLESSED losing its rightful running at a point approaching the 700m. Apprentice Egan’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, with the term to commence at midnight on Saturday, 21 January, and expire at midnight on Sunday, 29 January 2012.

STAY PUT (J. Bowditch) overraced at the heels of COSMO GAL leaving the 700m.

SKY LUCY (S. Egan) had a tendency to lay out under pressure in the straight, which prevented the rider from being able to fully test the mare.

STAY PUT was held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

A post-race veterinary examination of COSMO GAL found the mare to be suffering from respiratory distress and a cough. The results of an endoscopic examination and a veterinary certificate will be required before COSMO GAL again races.

A post-race veterinary examination of RUSHATUS revealed the horse to have sustained a laceration to the near hind coronet.

Race 6: FUNDRAISING RACE DAY PACKAGES AT THE ITC CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1666M
1st – Murrumba Downs 2nd – Carlson’s Felt 3rd – Thirsty For Blood 4th – Kwila Sunrise

Subject to any further submission from trainer C. Jordan, a fine of $100 will be imposed for the late rider notification for CHARLIE'S BOY.

MURRUMBA DOWNS (J. Bowditch) and OUR GOLD STASH (B. Looker) made contact on jumping away.

THIRSTY FOR BLOOD (J. Byrne) was slow to begin.

THIRSTY FOR BLOOD overraced in the middle stages.

OUR GOLD STASH and CARLSON'S FELT (R. McMahon) both raced wide throughout.

Leaving the 400m LADY INNOCENT (K. Yoshida) was tightened for room when racing between CHARLIE'S BOY (B. Wallace) and SPECKLED SHINING (J. Taylor), which was taken in by OUR GOLD STASH.

THIRSTY FOR BLOOD was held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

Approaching the 200m THIRSTY FOR BLOOD was crowded for room between CARLSON'S FELT and KWILA SUNRISE (S. Bogenhuber), both of which shifted ground.

Leaving the 200m CHARLIE'S BOY had to alter course to obtain clear running after improving up on to the heels of the tiring MISS JUDGE (G. Colless).

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of MISS JUDGE, G. Colless said the horse raced too keenly in the lead which resulted in the horse being unable to run out the distance of today’s event. Trainer’s representative S. Morrisey agreed with the assessment of the jockey and advised that it would be the intention to place MISS JUDGE in races of a shorter distance than the 1600m of today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination of MISS JUDGE revealed no significant abnormalities.

Stewards questioned apprentice B. Wallace regarding the handling of CHARLIE'S BOY in the middle stages of the event where the horse lost ground when trailing behind THIRSTY FOR BLOOD. B. Wallace explained that he was concerned with the manner in which THIRSTY FOR BLOOD was overracing and as such elected to allow greater racing room than normal. Stewards, whilst accepting his explanation, did advise the apprentice that they would expect him to take advantage of all opportunities that become available in a race and place his horse in its best possible position in the field.

R. McMahon, the rider of CARLSON'S FELT, was fined $100 for using the whip in a forehand manner on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.

Race 7: IPSWICH CUP – SATURDAY 16 JUNE 2012 CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M
1st – Platinum Lion 2nd – Triple Elite 3rd – One To Go 4th – Depasse

Subject to any further submission from trainer T. Bailey, a fine of $100 will be applied for the late rider notification on PLATINUM LION.

Connections advised that from the better barrier GENEVA GOLD (A. Pattillo) would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit.

COMMANDER BOLTZ (J. Brown) and ELSINORE (B. Wallace) made contact at the start, resulting in both horses being slow to begin.

SECRET PLEASURE (R. McMahon) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Apprentice B. Richardson, the rider of ANOTHER WELCOME, was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift in near the 1000m tightening the running of SECRET PLEASURE and EL JACKINO (S. Bogenhuber).

EL JACKINO hung out rounding the home turn, taking SECRET PLEASURE wider on the track.

TRIPLE ELITE (J. Byrne) had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight.

VINTAGE FLINT (C. Eaton) faltered near the 300m.
