Race 1: Channel 7 CG&E Maiden Plate – 1350m
1st – Fair Rise 2nd – Little Nathan 3rd – Poet Laureate 4th – Reigning Magic

Shortly after the start, POET LAUREATE (P. Hammersley) was tightened for room between REIGNING MAGIC (G. Cooksley) and FAIR RISE (M. Cahill), which shifted in.

POET LAUREATE and LINCOLN GREEN (J. Byrne) raced wide for the majority of the race.

P. Holmes, rider of LITTLE NATHAN, was fined $100 for using his whip in a consecutive forehand manner prior to the 100m.

A post race veterinary examination of FAIR RISE revealed the gelding to have bled from one nostril. Trainer M. Price will be advised that FAIR RISE must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m gallop prior to its next race start.


Race 2: Sky Racing F&M Maiden Plate – 1350m
1st – Sandpiper Bay 2nd – Nothing To Burn 3rd – Spirit Of Amber 4th – Royale Crown

R. Wiggins was fined $100 for failing to arriving at the course in time to fulfil his engagement on EMPRESS IN FLIGHT. P. Holmes was substituted as the rider of EMPRESS IN FLIGHT.

Connections advised that TWO WISHES would be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permit. After beginning well, TWO WISHES raced in a forward position, and leaving the 1000m commenced to overrace.

Trainer G. Walters was reprimanded for failing to produce the Document of Description for PORT DEL TORO. Subsequently, Mr Walters was advised that PORT DEL TORO would not be permitted to start until he is able to produce the Document of Description for the horse.

SANDPIPER BAY (G. Goold) began awkwardly.

ON THE BID (D. Missen), PORT DEL TORO (A. Spinks) and GRACE WITH FIRE (R. Jamieson) were all tightened for room at the start between NOTHING TO BURN (M. Hellyer), which shifted in, and EMPRESS IN FLIGHT (P. Holmes), which shifted out. As a result of this incident, EMPRESS IN FLIGHT lost ground.

Leaving the 800m, ROYALE CROWN (P. Hammersley) shifted out to improve, forcing MISS MEDAZ (M. Cahill) wider on the track.

After passing the 400m, EMPRESS IN FLIGHT improved onto the heels of TWO WISHES (G. Cooksley), and when being steadied shifted out, inconveniencing ALMASEA (J. Byrne), which had to be steadied.

ROYALE CROWN hung out rounding the home turn.

Near the 200m, NOTHING TO BURN shifted out and bumped EMPRESS IN FLIGHT.

ALMASEA raced wide for the majority of the race.

PORT DEL TORO lost its off hind plate in running.


Race 3: The Mack MP10 SCR Class 2 H'cap – 800m
1st – Little Mrs Murphy 2nd – Got News For You 3rd – Morgan Miss 4th – Shoeshine Boy

Trainer P. Sexton was reprimanded for presenting ON ICE NOW, which was having its firt start for his stable, to the enclosure without its advertised gear of winkers and tongue tie.

AUCHENFLOWER (R. Ride) was slow to begin.

ON ICE NOW (B. Hodder) jumped outwards at the start, making contact with MORGAN MISS (I. Coombes).

Near the 400m, when attempting to take a narrow run to the inside of LILLABELLE (R. Jamieson), AUCHENFLOWER (R. Ride) shifted in, making contact with the running rail and becoming unbalanced. AUCHENFLOWER then shifted out abruptly across the heels of LILLABELLE, making contact with SHOESHINE BOY (R. Goltz). After considering all matters, stewards advised apprentice R. Ride to show greater care in similar circumstances.

Passing the 200m, AUCHENFLOWER shifted in under pressure, inconveniencing RAKU TU (C. Eaton), which had to be steadied. R. Ride, rider of AUCHENFLOWER, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

Leaving the 200m, MORGAN MISS (I. Coombes) shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so forced MARECHA’S HONOUR (M. Hellyer) out on to MONDIAH (W. O'Connell), which in turn shifted out, brushing BOTH EARS (J. Brown). I. Coombes, rider of MORGAN MISS, was advised to exercise more care.


Near the finish line, AUTHENFLOWER had to be steadied when tightened for room by LILLABELLE, which shifted in and away from SHOESHINE BOY, which in turn shifted in and away from GOT NEWS FOR YOUR (J. Byrne).


Race 4: The Mack MP8 SCR Class 2 H'cap – 1350m
1st – Maker’s Marque 2nd – Zabeauty 3rd – Night Wanderer 4th – Ruby Qualo

Trainer F. Adams was reprimanded for failing to produce the Document of Description for ZABEAUTY.

Leaving the 200m, BOLD AUSSIE (L. Cassidy) was momentarily held up for clear running.

Nearing the finish line, NIGHT WANDERER (G. Cooksley) and RUBY QUALO (B. Stewart) made contact.


Race 5: The Mack MDrive Class 1 H'cap – 1520m
1st – Faith No More 2nd – Joh The Painter 3rd – Taystar 4th – Wishmore

B. Stewart, rider of JETSCAPE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that leaving the 1300m he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of JOH THE PAINTER (J. Byrne), placing that horse in restricted room, forcing J. Byrne to take hold of JOH THE PAINTER and shift in closer to the running rail, causing M. McKenzie to take hold of MAIANBAR also. B. Stewart was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 9 December and to expire at midnight, 21 December

BEYOND IMAGINATION (M. Hellyer) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Leaving the 300m, WISHMORE (M. Cahill) had difficulty obtaining clear running.

On return to scale, B. Stewart reported that JETSCAPE was inclined to hang out in the home straight, resulting in him being unable to fully test his mount.


Race 6: The Mack Trucks BrisbaneF&M Class 1 H'cap – 1100m
1st – Ain’t Half Hot 2nd – Sweet Taboo 3rd – Little Rip Snorter 4th – Rosie The Maid

On jumping away, HOLLYWOOD PRINCESS (J. Byrne) blundered badly.

DELLASERABLUE (J. Letherby) and EPONA FIRE (Michael Palmer) were slow into stride.

BEDROCK BETTY (M. McKenzie) shifted out and brushed ROSIE THE MAID (R. Jamieson) on jumping away.

K. Wharton, rider of CRAIGLEA MANDY, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that approaching the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of HILL AND GRACE (Matthew Palmer), resulting in the rider of HILL AND GRACE having to take hold of his mount and shift in, crowding the running of DELLASERABLUE (J. Letherby) and having to shift wider to the outside of CRAIGLEA MANDY. In this incident, HOLLYWOOD PRINCESS (J. Byrne), EPONA FIRE (Michael Palmer) and ROSIE THE MAID (R. Jamieson),which were racing to the outside of HILL AND GRACE, were all hampered as a consequence. K. Wharton was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 2 December and to expire at midnight, 14 December.

Leaving the 700m, HOLLYWOOD PRINCESS improved quickly to the inside of BEDROCK BETTY. Shortly after this, BEDROCK BETTY shifted in, inconveniencing HOLLYWOOD PRINCESS, which overreacted and shifted in abruptly, losing significant ground and hampering HILL AND GRACE, which was forced to check.

A post race veterinary examination of HILL AND GRACE failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.


Race 7: Brooky Bashers CG&E Class 1 H'cap – 1100m
1st – Accidental 2nd – Made ‘n’ Ready 3rd – Fine Gold 4th – Dancing Al

As M. Palmer was to be overweight K. Wharton was substituted as the rider of DANCING AL. Jockey M. Palmer was fined $100.

Correct weight was delayed to enable R. Wiggins, rider of the 3rd placegetter, FINE GOLD, to view the stewards’ patrol films of an incident near the 150m to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge a protest against the 2nd placegetter, MADE ‘N’ READY. After viewing the video, R. Wiggins declined to proceed further and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings.

CHROMED (J. Letherby) was tightened for room between KING CAPO (M. McKenzie) and FARMERWANTSAWIFE (G. Cooksley), both of which shifted ground at the start.

Rounding the home turn, MADE ‘N’ READY (L. Cheshire) was held up for clear running.

Near the 150m, MADE 'N' READY shifted in under pressure making contact wtih FINE GOLD (R. Wiggins).

ACCIDENTAL (L. Cassidy) was held up rounding the home turn and had to be steadied for a number of strides.

BOSSBOSS (G. Goold) raced wide for the majority of the race.
