RACE 1: GOODNA RUGBY LEAGUE OLD BOYS QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
Due to a clerical error, J. Byrne was shown in the race book as the rider of AMEX IMAGE when J. Lloyd had been engaged as the rider of that gelding.
ANUBAYAN SQUANTO – Raced wide throughout.
GREEN STYLE – Tightened for room on jumping away. Had to be checked and lost its position approaching the 900m when tightened for room by DAY LILLY, which was taken in by MOTION GRANTED, which was taken in by FELL FROM HEAVEN, which shifted in when being ridden along and not clear of MOTION GRANTED. L. Rolls, the rider of FELL FROM HEAVEN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) and his licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 meetings, to commence following his current term of suspension at midnight on Friday 7 August and expire at midnight on Saturday 22 August 2015.

DAY LILLY – Tightened for room on jumping away.
FELL FROM HEAVEN – Shifted in on jumping away.
RED SRAAD – Raced three wide without cover.
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to SOFT 5 retrospective.
RACE 2: GOODNA FAMILY MEDICAL CENTRE MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
HERE'S TO LUXURY – When asked to explain the horse's performance, rider J. Lloyd stated that the gelding had a tendency to hang out throughout the race and never travelled comfortably at any stage and when placed under pressure in the home straight failed to run on and in his view was very disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild lameness in the off foreleg, and a swab sample was taken. Trainer M. Dunn reported that the horse would now be sent for a spell. Mr Dunn was advised that he must produce a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to its next start.
REGAL LAD – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground. Crowded for room and steadied near the 800m when EMMA'S POCKET shifted in when overracing.
SPIRITED SAINT – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Improved on to the heels of REGAL LAD leaving the 500m, had to be steadied and shift wider. Shifted in near the 400m, bumping REGAL LAD. Had to be steadied from the heels of EMMA'S POCKET approaching the 300m when that runner shifted out slightly.
EMMA'S POCKET – Slow to begin. Shifted in when overracing near the 800m. Raced wide throughout.
LOCOMOTION – Raced wide without cover.
SNIP INTO TOWN – Fractious in the barriers. Stood flat-footed as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer M. Abbey was advised that she must obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding before it is permitted to race again.
SOCIAL DELIGHT – Shifted in and away from another runner near the 800m and made contact with the running rail, and then a short distance later was steadied when crowded for room by EMMA'S POCKET, which shifted in when overracing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off foreleg. Trainer G. Pollock was advised that he must produce a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to its next start.
RACE 3: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAYLOR WRIGHT MAIDEN H’CAP – 1666M
Correct weight was delayed to allow R. Wiggins, the rider of 2nd placegetter MANTECADO, to view the stewards' patrol footage to determine if he had grounds to lodge an objection against the winner TORBAY. After viewing the videos, jockey Wiggins declined to lodge an objection and correct weight was declared.
MANTECADO – Underwent a veterinary inspection behind the barriers and cleared to start.
PALMER – Raced wide throughout.
TORBAY – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn between MANTECADO, which shifted in, and COOPERSTOWN, which was shifting out to obtain clear running. Both R. Wiggins (MANTECADO) and J. Byrne (COOPERSTOWN) were advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.

RACE 4: J.G. MULLAN CONSTRUCTION F&M CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1350M
The start of this race was delayed considerably when the bridle on MARASKA became detached and had to be refitted, during which process the horse proved very difficult. Following this, a veterinary examination of MARASKA was conducted and the mare was cleared to start.
SPIRIT TORQUE – Shifted out near the 1200m, making contact with the hind quarters of FAICONI, which became unbalanced.
SHE WHO KNOWS – Commenced to hang out leaving the 1200m and had to be steadied from the heels of SPIRIT TORQUE.
After the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 4.
RACE 5: PENNYWISE C,G&E CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1350M
Stewards accepted the explanation for the late scratching of WHITE RAIN at 8:07 am.
Correct weight was delayed to allow P. Hammersley, the rider of 3rd placegetter WHO'S THAT CAT, to view the stewards' patrol footage to determine if he had grounds to lodge an objection against the 2nd placegetter SUPERSTITION. After viewing the videos, jockey Hammersley declined to lodge an objection and correct weight was declared.
SUPERSTITION – Forced wider by another runner near the 1000m, then shifted in, resulting in WHO'S THAT CAT, which was following, having to be restrained. R. Fradd was reprimanded. Shifted to the inside of BELDAN to obtain clear running leaving the 200m, and soon after commenced to hang in and shifted in tightening the running of SO QUICKEN, which had to be checked. Whilst stewards noted the racing manners of SUPERSTITION, R. Fradd was nonetheless advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
LOST THIEF – When given the opportunity to explain the horse's performance, which was below market expectation, S. Galloway stated that in his opinion the gelding races better over a longer distance when it is able to dictate its own terms. He added that the gelding may not have been suited by the step up in class. His explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RACE 6: NUGROW CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1100M
BY THE VINES – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

LOCKIEBE – When asked to explain the horse's seemingly improved performance, trainer G. Schultz stated that two starts back at Beaudesert the rider reported to him that the gelding was not comfortable on the tight turning track and never travelled well throughout the race as a result. At its next start at the Gold Coast on Saturday 18 July, he reported that the horse suffered some interference early in the race which was a telling factor on the horse's performance. He further explained that this was the first occasion that LOCKIEBE had started over a distance further than 1400m and was pleasantly surprised with the horse's performance and that it would now be his intention to place the horse in races over similar distances to that of today's event. Stewards noted the explanation.
TAZI ARAZI – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the event and hung out badly rounding the home turn, shifting extremely wide on the track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse was lame in the off foreleg and also suffering heat stress. Trainer F.
