RACE 1: THE MACK METROLINER CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1666M

CARTON – Had to be eased when placed in restricted room momentarily near the 1500m.

BILBERRY STAR – Trainer B. Brown advised that the instructions would be to have the horse ridden in a forward position. After beginning awkwardly and being inconvenienced near the 1400m, raced wide throughout. Commenced to weaken from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

RACE 5: THE MACK TRUCK BRISBANE CANNONBALL SERIES (HEAT) BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 800M

THOMAS THE TANK – Hung out near the 700m and then continued to hang out for the remainder of the event, proving difficult to ride. A warning was placed on the horse's racing manners.

INVITTO – Hampered near the 700m and had to be steadied away from the heels of THOMAS THE TANK, which was hanging out. Had to be eased near the 200m when attempting a run between runners.

SOCIETY QUEEN – J. Lloyd reported at scale that he had concerns with the mare's action and therefore he did not pressure his mount over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer J. Devine was advised that the horse would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

Harrison stated that despite losing ground at the start, the mare was still somewhat disappointing with its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery.

KATELETTE – Bled from one nostril. Trainer D. Duryea was advised that the horse must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward before being permitted to race again.
