Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 400m. Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight. DRAGONFLY MISS – Slow to begin. Apprentice A. Fancourt reported at scale that her mount raced greenly when trailing the field in the early stages. BERMUDA MISS – Slow into stride. DELIRIUM – When questioned regarding the horse's improved performance, trainer C. Munce's stable representative reported that the filly was having its first start for the stable and had been working well and the stable was confident of a forward showing. RACE 2: WISEMAN ACCOUNTANTS MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M CAFE TERRACE – Following advice from trainer M. Dunn that the horse had become distressed prior to the race and that he was not satisfied with its demeanour, the horse was examined by the veterinary surgeon who confirmed that the horse was in an agitated state. As a result, Mr Dunn requested that the horse be scratched. After conferring with the veterinary surgeon, stewards declared CAFE TERRACE a late scratching at 1:17 pm. Following the event, stewards ordered that all monies invested on CAFE TERRACE be refunded with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers: 48 cents in the dollar for the win #7 32 cents in the dollar for place of winner #7 21 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #2 34 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #3 Starting price bets are not subject to deductions. BEAU ISA – Bumped shortly after the start, tightened for room and lost ground. GIFTOFLIFE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. FASSLER – Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the horse's improved performance, trainer B. Andrew reported that the gelding was having its first run following a spell, had matured and had performed well in a jump-out in the lead-up to today's event. ADAROSER – Raced wide throughout. FUZZY MELON – Bumped with another runner at the start. MASTER DENRHO – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. RANI'S DYNASTY – Raced keenly in the early stages. REDREKA – Bumped with another runner at the start. RACE 3: IPSWICH WARRIORS SOFTBALL QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M BAGGINS – Tightened for room at the start. Laid out rounding the home turn. POWERFUL FLASH – Laid in under pressure in the home straight and was held up for clear running until leaving the 100m. ZAMEX – Slow to begin. MARK MY WORD – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. R. Fradd reported at scale that his mount raced greenly in the home straight. MAC'S BOY – Raced keenly in the early stages and raced in restricted room approaching the 800m. Raced greenly in the home straight. JARDIN ROUGE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer B. Wakefield was advised that prior to the horse racing again it must trial satisfactorily and the results of an ECG must be produced. Mr Wakefield indicated that the horse would be sent for a spell. SPRINGTIME LOVE – Raced ungenerously when being restrained passing the 800m. ST HILARY – Held up behind a tiring runner rounding the home turn and lost ground. RACE 4: TIGERS SOFTBALL 65TH ANNIVERSARY CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M RED REASON – Raced keenly in the early stages. AKACHETA LEE – Trainer R. Heathcote advised that it would be the intention to have the horse ridden more positively out of the barriers. Stood flat-footed and missed the start by 5 lengths. Trainer R. Heathcote was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding. DODGE THE PRESS – Raced wide throughout. R. Fradd dropped his whip approaching the 200m. Lost the near fore plate in running. GUADALUPE – Began awkwardly. Laid in over the concluding stages. Lost the near fore plate in running. GOTTA CHANCE – Began awkwardly. MISS JAMAICA – Began awkwardly. RACE 5: EDNA HERTRICK OAM CANNONBALL SERIES (HEAT) BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 800M STATE OF WEALTH – G. Goold reported at scale that his mount hung out rounding the home turn. THOMAS THE TANK – Hung out throughout. LIFE'S LIKE THAT – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. SURPRISE RESULT – Knuckled at the start. ZOUZOUKAKIA – Lost both hind plates in running. HIZOU – Raced wide throughout. RACE 6: BROADBEACH TAVERN CLASSIC CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1680M STANLEY – Raced ungenerously with its head in the air in the early and middle stages. Trainer M. Costa indicated that the colt would now be sent for a spell. HEFNER – Raced wide in the early stages. SUPPLEMENTS – As apprentice J. Woodhouse was unable to claim any of his allowance, apprentice B. Ainsworth was substituted as the rider of this runner. Apprentice Woodhouse was fined $200. DASHING DUB – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
