Lacy sustained an injury at the Sunshine Coast meeting on 21 December, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Race 1: Q ROOFING PTY LTD CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1025M GO BETTER – Commenced to hang out from the 800m until entering the home straight. JETINTOIT – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground. Lost the near fore plate in running. MAGIC MOUSE – When questioned regarding tactics adopted, jockey R. Fradd stated that as the mare was having its first start after a short break the instructions were to obtain a position with cover. He added that after complying with these instructions the mare finished the race off strongly and also stated that as the mare steps up in distance, he would expect it to be settling in a position closer to the lead. SHEZ OUR DESTINY – Slow to begin and then failed to muster any speed throughout the race and trailed the field. ORQUESTA – Slow to begin. Race 2: DARRA TYRE SERVICE F&M MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M The declaration of correct weight was delayed to afford J. Byrne, the rider of 2nd placegetter GIFTOFLIFE, the opportunity of viewing the stewards' patrol footage. After viewing the videos J. Byrne indicated that he did not wish to lodge an objection. COURTING SPIRIT – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Shifted out to obtain clear running over the concluding stages, causing interference to other runners. Apprentice B. Panya was issued with a reprimand. GIFTOFLIFE – Slow into stride. Held up rounding the home turn. SNAP AND GO – Bumped shortly after the start and lost ground. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running from rounding the home turn until leaving the 200m. SECURENCY – Bumped heavily shortly after the start. Inconvenienced over the concluding stages. SHE'S A YOUEFFOH – Bumped heavily shortly after the start. Hampered over the concluding stages. Had to be eased approaching the 100m and was obliged to shift out across heels to obtain clear running. WISHOLA – Raced wide throughout. BLAIREAU EAGLE – Trainer D. Murphy was fined $100 for failing to produce the horse's identification papers. Shifted in abruptly near the 1100m despite the efforts of its rider. Had to be restrained from heels near the 700m when overracing. KATARINA – Bumped at the start. NOTHING OR SUCCESS – Raced wide throughout. STRIDE OF PRIDE – Began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with SNAP AND GO. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. Trainer G. Schwenke was questioned regarding the horse's improved performance. He stated that the filly hung out at its previous start at Dalby and as a result he made a number of significant changes to the horse's gear, which he attributed to today's improved performance. Stewards noted his explanation. Race 3: STEVE PARCELL BUILDING SERVICES C,G&E MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M CRACKACHARGE – Held up from approaching the 200m until approaching the 100m. TAKARAKKA – Hampered rounding the home turn and forced wider. OPTIMISTIC HEART – Tightened for room at the start and had to be checked. WISHIPOUR – Raced three wide without cover. CAPTAIN TREASURE – Shifted in abruptly at the start. DEUS – Raced wide throughout. DEE CEE DELIGHTS – Blundered badly on jumping and as a result the rider lost the use of her irons for the duration of the event. Race 4: GLENDEN HOMES QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M AUSTRALIAN PHAROAH – Trainer M. Palmer was fined $100 for the late declaration of apprentice B. Ainsworth as rider. CAMPO SERRANO – Hung out rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.. HESEZSO – Raced three wide without cover. REDHAZE – Shifted out near the 600m to improve and raced wide. RIVER FIRE – Slow to begin and then a short distance later was severely tightened for room and lost ground. SON OF JUSTICE – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of the rider and declared a late scratching at 3:15 pm on veterinary advice that the horse had mild lameness in the near hind leg. Following the event, stewards ordered that all monies invested on SON OF JUSTICE be refunded with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers: 2 cents in the dollar for the win #13 2 cents in the dollar for place of winner #13 3 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #2 2 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #8 YOU'RE SO VAIN – Bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. Race 5: XFORM CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1350M CONSTANTINE – Tightened for room at the start. VOANABA – Slow to begin and was then tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. JUST TRUCKIN' – Began awkwardly. PEGAPUS – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start. OUR CEE BEE – Bumped shortly after the start. SANJAY – Hampered at the start. SPIRIT OF KIOWA – Held up upon entering the home straight at the heels of the weakening DELANCIA until a point near the 200m when able to secure clear running. DELANCIA – Began awkwardly, shifted in and hampered another runner. Raced wide in the early and middle stages and was allowed to stride forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 700m. Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to GOOD 4 retrospective. Race 6: HAPPY RETIREMENT JON KITCHING BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1200M BAKER BOY – Raced keenly in the early stages. MISHANI EL LOBO – Arrived late on course due to transport difficulties, underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to race. JENNIFER JUNIPER – Rider E. Ljung reported that her surcingle became detached near the 1000m. Race 7: SANTA CLAUSE IS COMING TO TOWN BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1700M UNIQUE MYSTIQUE – Bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. WOW FACTOR – Near the 500m had to be steadied away from the heels of ROSADOR, which shifted out when not fully clear. Apprentice E. Ljung, the rider of ROSADOR, was reprimanded. Held up on entering the home straight and then was tightened for room between AIR FORCE ONE, which was laying in when weakening, and IT'S ALL IRISH, which shifted out when not fully clear. Jockey M. Hellyer, the rider of IT'S ALL IRISH, was issued with a reprimand. In determining this penalty, stewards were mindful of contributing factors. AIR FORCE ONE – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. When questioned regarding the horse's disappointing performance, jockey J. Lloyd stated that after travelling three wide without cover throughout, the gelding failed to respond to his riding and from the 400m proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings other than that the horse had lost the near fore plate. INGEEGOODBE – Hampered near the 1500m and lost ground. Had to be steadied shortly after entering the home straight and was obliged to shift in to obtain clear running. LAKOTA SIOUX – Overraced in the early stages. Placed in restricted room over the concluding stages and as a result was not fully tested. POUND THE PAVEMENT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. ROSADOR – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, apprentice E. Ljung stated that her instructions from the wide gate today were to be positive out of the barriers and take up a forward position, which was in contrast to the horse's most recent racing pattern. Trainer J. Dann confirmed the instructions. Stewards reminded Mr Dann of his obligations to advise of any change of tactics in future. TUNE OUT – Raced wide throughout. AHMAH STAR – Slow to begin. Commenced to race ungenerously near the 1500m and as a result shifted out hampering INGEEGOODBE. Then continued to race erratically when racing wide for the remainder of the event. Raced extremely wide from the 700m. Trainer R. Wrigley was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse's racing manners. Jockey A. Allen was fined $100 under AR. 145 for weighing in in excess of half a kilogram over his allotted weight. In determining penalty, stewards took into account jockey Allen's good record in relation to this rule. OUR GRAND FINALE – Trainer G.
