Jockey P. Moloney pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to attend an inquiry and disobeying a direction relating to interference suffered by KAEPERNICK in the Stradbroke Handicap on Saturday 10 June 2017.  Jockey Moloney was subsequently fined $400.00.
 
SUPPLEMENTARY
 
Race 6.   Queensland Times Cup Winter Prov. Stayers Final Benchmark 80 H’Cap – 2150m
 
In some publications it was advertised that apprentices could claim in this event but this was not a condition of the race and therefore both App R. Ride and App T. Brooker were advised they were unable to claim their allowances on their mounts.
 
Race 1: Bundaberg Rum Benchmark 75 H’Cap – 1350m
 
As G. Colless was unable to arrive on course by the prescribed time stewards permitted K. Walters to be substituted as the rider of UNBOWED.
 
ELJETEM was declared a late scratching at 11.41 a.m. by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice after the gelding became fractious in the barriers, reared and struck its head on the gates suffering a laceration to the forehead.  All monies invested on ELJETEM were ordered to be refunded.  Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 11.41 a.m.:-
 
10 cents in the dollar for the win - #14 (BETTABET RED)
10 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #14 (BETTABET RED)
9 cents in the dollar for 2nd place - #15 (FLEUR D’ORAGE)

UNBOWED – Slow to begin.  Approaching and rounding the home turn was held up for clear running when awkwardly placed at heels. 
 
TELMEMORE – Slow to begin.
 
BARNSLEY – Bumped on jumping.  Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.  Jockey D. Browne reported that in his opinion the gelding would be better suited in shorter races than that of today’s 1350m and it did not handle the track conditions.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had come down onto its off fore bumper.
 
FLEUR D’ORAGE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
CARRY ON JAKE – Overraced in the early stages.  Lost an off fore plate in running.
 
MOONLIGHT DANCER – Held up for clear running in the home straight until near the 150m.  Again held up over the final stages.
 
REAL EGO – Passing the 200m hung in abruptly under pressure and had to be corrected by its rider.
 
SAY YOU LOVE ME – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
 
Race 2: Ray White Ipswich Benchmark 75 – 1350m
 
Trainer M. Wilson was fined $300 for failing to declare B. Pengelly as the rider of CHEVAL LE VENT and T. Harrison as the rider of WUDANG BLADE (Race 4) by the prescribed time. 
 
Trainer R. Laming was fined $200 for the late declaration of C. Brown as the rider of ABOHAR.
 
TRUMP IT – After beginning awkwardly had to be restrained at the rear of the field to gain a position closer to the fence.
 
WILLIAM WALLACE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
LIGHT SHOWS – Overraced in the early stages.  Had to be steadied near the 450m.
 
HEART SKIPT A BEAT – Near the 450m had to be eased from the heels of CORNROW.
 
CORNROW – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SAGAMAMA – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
SEEKING ASYLUM – Raced 3 wide throughout.  Jockey J. Lloyd reported that he could offer no excuses for the mare’s poor performance.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
CHEVAL LE VENT – Trainer M. Wilson reported the gelding lost its near fore plate and in his opinion did not handle the track conditions today.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.  Lost a near fore plate in running.
 
App R. Ride (CORNROW) pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. App Ride’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 5 days to commence midnight 24 June 2017, at the expiration of her suspension she incurred under the same Rule at Toowoomba on 16 June 2017, and to expire 29 June 2017.
 
SUNNY VICTORY – A post race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to both fore legs.
 
ASSERTORY – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare had sustained a laceration to the off fore leg consistent with being galloped on.
 
 
Race 3: XXXX Gold Ipswich Mile Class 6 SW Plate – 1666m
 
Stewards accepted trainer R. Heathcote’s explanation for BECKONING LIGHT not being on course by the prescribed time.
 
BLOOMING TYCOON – Approaching the 100m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of STEAMIN’.  Jockey C. Brown (STEAMIN’) was advised to make a greater effort to stop riding and straighten his mounts in future.
 
CALL THE CAPTAIN – Jockey M. Cahill reported at scale that the gelding knuckled at the start and lost ground, however travelled comfortably during the race but was disappointing when he applied pressure soon after straightening.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 4: Sirromet Bundamba Plate QTIS 2YO H’Cap – 1100m
 
Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $200 for the late declaration of J. Byrne as the rider of LIBERTY LASS.
 
LIBERTY LASS – Jumped away awkwardly and was hampered soon after the start. Raced extremely wide throughout.
 
ACCEPTILE – Raced extremely wide throughout.
 
WUDANG BLADE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
BLACK MINK – Raced wide throughout.
 
SO INVINCIBLE – Raced wide throughout.
 
C. Brown the rider of REVENIRE pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift out near the 250m making heavy contact with WUDANG BLADE, which was taken out onto BLACK MINK, which had to be checked when tightened for room between that runner and ACCEPTILE.  Jockey Brown’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 24 June 2017 and expire midnight 6 July 2017.  In assessing penalty stewards took into account jockey Brown’s good record and guilty plea.

INITIALIZE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be showing signs of mild heat stress.
 
ROOIBOS DELUXE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have comedown on both front bumpers and had sustained abrasions to both fore legs.
 
 
Race 5: Schweppes T.L. Cooney QTIS 3YO H’Cap – 1100m
 
Trainer T. Gollan was fined $200 for the late declaration of J. Byrne as the rider of TIYATROLANI.
 
NICCONI LEGGERA – Had to be attended to by the Club’s farrier upon arrival at the barriers.
 
RAJA AMPAT – Slow to begin.
 
ALASSAK – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
LOVE BATTLES – Jumped awkwardly and bumped another runner.
 
BOTTARGA – Hampered at the start.
 
TIYATROLANI – Approaching the 800m bumped ZILITOR.
 
ZILITOR – Bumped by TIYATROLANI approaching the 800m.
 
CAMBOOYA ROCK – Had to be restrained from the heels of ZILITOR at the 800m.
 
PRUE’S ANGEL – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
NORTHERN DIVINE – Raced wide throughout.
 
SUNDANCE – Jockey J. Lloyd momentarily lost the use of his near side iron passing the 200m, which placed him at a disadvantage for a short distance. Jockey Lloyd reported that his mount failed to handle today’s rain affected track.
 
 
 
 
 
Race 6: Queensland Times Cup Winter Prov. Stayers Final Benchmark 80 H’Cap – 2150m
 
WALWA – Trainer S. Morrisey advised the intention will be to attempt to settle the horse in a midfield position with cover today as opposed to its pattern of being at the rear of the field.  The horse was ridden accordingly.  Jumped awkwardly and shifted in and bumped another runner.
 
REAL STING – Jumped away awkwardly and was bumped shortly after the start.
 
BOLD AND GROOVY – Bumped shortly after the start.  Hampered approaching the 400m.
 
SHADOW VISION – After passing the winning post on the first occasion hung out and brushed HOT MONEY, resulting in that runner being forced wider. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
LAST SIGHT – Forced wider passing the winning post on the first occasion.
 
ALLZIN – Forced wider passing the winning post on the first occasion. Raced 3 wide throughout the event.  Jockey J. Byrne reported his mount did not handle the track conditions today and was under pressure prior to the home turn.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
MONT DE LOIR – After passing the winning post on the first occasion had to be steadied from the heels of OUTSTRIP, which shifted in slightly.  Jockey R. Stewart (OUTSTRIP) was reprimanded and advised to afford his fellow riders greater clearance in future.
 
L. Cassidy the rider of WAR BABY was issued with a charge of careless riding for allowing his mount to shift in near the winning post on the first occasion when not fully clear of OUTSTRIP, which was taken in onto MONT DE LOIR, which had to be steadied and REAL STING, which had to be checked.  After hearing further submissions from jockey L. Cassidy regarding OUTSTRIP shifting quickly to his inside prior to the incident and his endeavours to correct his mount stewards did not proceed with the charge.
 
OUTSTRIP – Approaching and rounding the home turn was held up and unable to improve.
 
HOT MONEY – Raced wide throughout.  Lost a near fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 7: Channel 7 Ipswich Cup Quality Listed  – 2150m
 
TESSASTOCK – Slow to begin.
 
BARRAAJ – Overraced in the early stages.
 
PARAGON – Raced 3 wide in the early stages until gaining a position with cover near the 1400m.
 
CHOYSA – Pulled hard in the early stages and raced 3 wide from the 1600m.
 
BENZINI – Improved around the field extremely wide from the 700m.
 
SORT AFTER – A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings and a swab sample was taken.
 
SELF SENSE – Trainer D. Brideoake was questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding compared with its  13th place in the Brisbane Cup on 10 June 2017.  Mr Brideoake stated that the gelding resents racing inside of horses and from its wide barrier last start was forced to race well back in the field and in his opinion did not appreciate the stop start tempo of that race.  Mr Brideoake added that the gelding has drawn wide from a number of starts this campaign and for this reason has been unlucky in its races, particularly Flemington and Yarra Valley.  His explanation was noted.
 
 
Race 8: City Of Ipswich Eye Liner Quality Listed Stakes – 1350m
 
Trainer T. Edmonds was fined $300 for the late declaration of M. Cahill as the rider of THE VIRGINIAN.
 
Trainer D. Hansen was fined $200 for the late declaration of App T. Brooker as the rider of MONSIEUR GUSTAVE.
 
The start was delayed when THE VIRGINIAN had its off fore plate refitted behind the barriers.
 
THE VIRGINIAN – Slow to begin.
 
FEDERAL – Slow to begin.
 
HANDFAST – Restrained in the early stages from the wide barrier to gain a position closer to the rail.  Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
TAILLEVENT – Overraced in the early stages and near the 1000m had to be eased from the heels of CANTBUYBETTER.
 
ACATOUR – Had difficulty securing clear running in the home straight and after passing the 100m was disappointed for a run between MONSIEUR GUSTAVE, which shifted in and CASUAL CHOICE and had to alter course in order to improve.
 
TOP TONE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SHARP HUSSLER – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
SNIPPETS LAND – Raced wide throughout.
 
IN HIS STRIDE – Raced wide throughout.
