Race 1: CHANNEL 7 QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 800M
 
BOUNTY HUNTER – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
 
BUXTON – Began awkwardly.
 
FLAME OF LIBERTY – Shifted out abruptly shortly after the start, hampering WILLOWBROOK WONDER.
 
A LITTLE BIT MORE – Blundered at the start and then shortly after the start had to be eased from the heels of GOLDEN BOUQUET, which shifted in. Raced wide throughout.
 
A LITTLEBITTAMAGIC – Had to be steadied when tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
ANGEL DANE – Held up momentarily leaving the 400m.
 
BELLA OCCHI – Late scratching at 9:01 am.
 
DON’T STUTTER – Raced greenly throughout when racing wide and was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FOXY FELINE – When racing ungenerously approaching the 400m was placed in restricted room approaching to the inside of WILLOWBROOK WONDER, which was taken in, and as a result then continued to race ungenerously and hung out across heels and took no competitive part in the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer M. Webb reported that following today’s performance he would trial the filly prior to racing again.
 
WILLOWBROOK WONDER – Had to be checked shortly after the start. Taken in and had to be steadied from the heels of FLAME OF LIBERTY approaching the 400m.
 
GOLDEN BOUQUET – Broke through the barriers, was quickly restrained and passed suitable to race by the veterinary surgeon. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 2: CITY OF IPSWICH MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
 
BUSH BANDICOOT – Slow to begin. Bumped heavily near the 400m and became unbalanced when NONCHALANTE shifted in to improve to the inside of SILVER FOX. Beau Appo, the rider of NONCHALANTE, was reprimanded for this incident and advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
KING DRABADORE – Slow into stride.
 
SILVER FOX – When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, which was below market expectations, M. Cahill could offer no tangible explanation. Trainer D. Bell Stated that the gelding’s recent form has been inconsistent and feels that the gelding may be looking for a short spell. Stewards noted both explanations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A swab sample was taken.
 
SIR TITANITE – Began awkwardly and made contact with the inside barrier partition. When questioned regarding the horse’s disappointing performance, B. Stewart stated that he attempted to obtain the lead, however when runners to his inside improved, he was caught racing three wide, which on the heavy track he was content to do. He added that once rounding the home turn when he placed his mount under pressure it failed to respond and therefore he was inclined to desist with pressuring his mount for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
GALTERO – Late scratching at 11:28 am due to the downgrade of the track.
 
Following the running of this race the track was downgraded to HEAVY 10.
 
Race 3: SIRROMET F&M CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1350M
 
The start of this race was delayed due to an interstate event in progress.
 
The start was further delayed when JERROCITY got its leg caught in the barriers and as a result required farrier attention. The veterinary surgeon subsequently passed the horse suitable to race.
 
ANDARI – Late scratching at 1:10 pm due to the downgrade of the track.
 
RUBY GURU – Apprentice A. Sewell attributed the horse’s poor performance to the prevailing track conditions.
 
PERRAN BEACH – Late scratching at 12:07 pm due to the downgrade of the track.
 
 
CAPE DENISON – Apprentice S. Lacy reported at scale that her mount was not comfortable in today’s track conditions.
 
Race 4: SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1010M
 
HUNCHA DUNCHA – N. Day dropped his whip near the 150m.
 
GOOD TO BE GREAT – Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
TACTICIAN – Slow to begin.
 
CHOC MOUNTAIN – Late scratching at 10:54 am due to the downgrade of the track.
 
BAIO – Raced wide throughout.
 
WHISPERING WINGS – Had to be steadied near the 400m after improving on to the heels of the weakening BAIO.
 
Race 5: RAY WHITE IPSWICH BM60 H'CAP – 1010M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of 6th placegetter ALLENA to view the photo finish image. After doing so, connections indicated they were satisfied with the Judge’s placings.
 
The declaration of correct weight was further delayed to allow apprentice M. Schrapel, the rider of BIZARRE ROCK, to view the patrol footage of the start to determine whether his mount was afforded a fair start. After viewing the films, stewards were satisfied that the gelding was afforded a fair start and therefore declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.
 
LIFE’S LIKE THAT – Raced wide throughout.
 
BIZARRE ROCK – Became fractious as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
HOPETOUN STREET – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late scratching of the horse at 7:39 am.
 
DRAGON STREET – Laid in and away from DESIRABLE MISS approaching the 400m and had to be steadied.
 
GO GET SUM – Fractious in the barriers and then began awkwardly.
 
MADIBA – Late scratching at 11:28 am due to the downgrade of the track.
 
DESIRABLE MISS – Raced three wide without cover.
 
REMLAPS JOY – Late scratching at 10:52 am due to the downgrade of the track.

 
Race 6: SCHWEPPES C,G&E CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1350M
 
SHARPAMAL – After being pressured in the early stages to obtain the lead, then commenced to overrace through the middle stages.
 
THE UMBRELLA MAN – Late scratching at 11:10 am due to the downgrade of the track.
 
I AM THE WARRIOR – Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
GREAT PATIENCE – Raced wide throughout the event and was bumped on a couple of occasions passing the 600m when I AM THE WARRIOR shifted out.
 
Race 7: THE QLD TIMES CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1350M
 
After inspecting the track at 11:00 am, stewards deemed the section between the 1600m and the 1400m to be unsuitable for racing and, in consultation with Racing Queensland, amended the distance of this race from 1680m to 1350m.
 
BRONZEGATE – Raced three wide without cover. Apprentice S. Lacy reported to stewards that her mount was not entirely comfortable in today’s track conditions.
 
ZIZOU WARRIOR – M. Cahill reported at scale that his mount failed to handle the prevailing track conditions. Trainer D. Graham agreed with jockey Cahill’s comments and indicated that he would now send the gelding for a short spell.
 
CRIMSON GOD – Slow to begin.
 
HUKA PELE – Late scratching at 1:43 pm due to the change of race distance.
 
ROSDANE – Beau Appo reported at scale that his mount hung out throughout the event.
