Jockey R. McMahon stated that OUTRAGED is a backmarker and is inclined to pull in its races and he did not consider allowing it to stride forward at that stage as he was concerned it may begin to overrace.. He said the horse changed strides on a number of occasions throughout the run and hung out making the home turn.. He added the horse did not feel comfortable in its action and he did not persist in running it out in the home straight.. He was of the opinion that the horse may be better suited stepping up in distance and may race better if able to find the lead.. Trainer S. Lee advised that he would have blood samples taken from the horse in the ensuing days, the results of which he would report to stewards.

DUTY DUDE Jockey B. Looker was asked to explain the reason why approaching and rounding the home turn he shifted away from the rail to a position behind the leader when on straightening a run presented to the inside of the leader DREAM OF ASCOT.. He explained that the horse in the past has shown that it finishes off best when given clear racing room and that with this in mind he intended to endeavour to shift out in the straight to find clear running..
