QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT IPSWICH TURF CLUB ON FRIDAY, 25 MAY 2018 WEATHER – OVERCAST TRACK RATING – GOOD 4 RAIL – 6M 1650M-1300M, 8M REMAINDER PENETROMETER – 4.4 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D. WallaceStewards Secretary – P. Carey Race 1: Channel Seven Ipswich Cup June 16 Maiden H’cap – 2200m DAZZLING GREY – Slow to begin. SEVEN RUBIES – Raced 3 wide in the early stages before being restrained to the tail of the field. Hung out rounding the home turn and proved difficult to ride out in the straight. KARAS – Jockey M. Cahill reported at scale he was disappointed with the finishing effort of the gelding. Race 2: Enter Now Fashions On The Field QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1350m YAMAZAKI – Slow to begin. Had to be restrained from the heels of SAY I CEE YOU near the 500m. BAREFOOT – Overraced in the early stages. SAY I CEE YOU – Near the 250m bumped with PISTOLERO. J. Lloyd, rider of YAMAZAKI, was advised to show more care when shifting ground in future. PISTOLERO – At the 250m was bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced. Race 3: McNamara & Associates Maiden H’cap – 1100m CAISHEN IN – Trainer T. Edmonds was fined $100 for failing to provide the identification card for the horse. Jockey J. Lloyd was questioned regarding his apparent lack of vigour on his mount over the final 100m of the event. Jockey Lloyd explained that prior to the home turn he placed the filly under hard riding and it was not making ground. He further added that in the early part of the home straight he tested the horse and, in his view, it did not respond and for this reason he failed to ride his mount out inside the final 100m. Stewards acknowledged that CAISHEN IN had been tested leading up to the 100m, however reminded jockey Lloyd of his obligation to at all times ride his mounts out to the end of the race. MY HAPPY PLACE – Slow to begin. NICQUILITY – Had to be steadied near the 850m from the heels of JABROOK when momentarily tightened for room. HIDDEN ACTION – Was held up for clear running approaching and passing the 200m and then had to alter course to the outside of DANCING ON PARADE in order to improve. Raced 3 wide throughout. SPEEDY ECLIPSE – Raced 3 wide without cover. TOOGOOLAWAH TRUMP – Jockey A. Spinks reported at scale he was not completely satisfied with his mount’s action in the home straight and for that reason he did not fully test the mare. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Race 4: Party In Pimms Area @ Ipswich Club Class 2 Plate – 800m HIDDEN SEQUEL – As K. Yoshida was indisposed, M. Cahill was substituted as the rider of the horse. KEEN INSTINCT – Slow to begin. NEW ALLIANCE – Slow to begin. REMEMBER MARY – Hung out near the 450m and had to be checked to avoid the heels of PERFECT STYLE. ESSAKA – Inconvenienced near the 450m and taken wider. PERFECT STYLE – Lost its off hind plate in running, and post race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the off hind canon. Race 5: Buy Lazy Bear Hill Party Tix Class 1 H’cap – 1350m KEEP ON LOVING YOU – Became fractious in the enclosure, dislodging jockey M. McGillivray. The horse was examined upon arrival at the barriers by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. CHAVO – Was difficult to load resulting in the start of the race being significantly delayed. Trainer S. Lee was advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily in an official barrier trial prior to racing again. ROSES OF JOY – Reared at the start and lost ground. Forced wider near the 800m by CHAVO, which shifted out. PROPOSAL – Slow to begin. CLEVER BLAZE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight. RED DECK – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Race 6: Corona Infield Festival Tix Online Class 3 Plate – 1200m REAL CUTE – Jumped away very awkwardly and shifted out. PANDORA’S TALE – Checked soon after the start when tightened for room. Overraced in the early stages. LOST THIEF – Hampered at the start. After passing the 1000m commenced to overrace badly and as a result shifted out abruptly to avoid heels. Trainer P. Duff’s representative was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners. Raced wide from that point onwards. BEAU ISA – Had to be checked when tightened for room at the start. Over the final stages was held up and unable to improve. GREYWOLF – Overraced in the early stages. OCEAN CITY – Was hampered and taken wider on the track passing the 1000m and again near the 900m by LOST THIEF when that runner shifted out. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that the gelding would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months. FRIENDS – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. ARGYLE BAY – Raced 3 wide throughout. TURKANA – Hung in badly over the final 150m. Raced 4 wide without cover throughout. Race 7: All Tickets@Ipswichturfclub.com.au Benchmark 62 H’cap – 1700m ANNIHILATION – Near the 1000m improved onto the heels of JIMIBRAMZ and had to be checked. Near the 800M shifted out when overracing to avoid heels. ONE MANSINI – Bumped by ANNIHILATION near the 800m. Had to be steadied near the 500m when tightened for room between MONTRER DAME and LUCY LE ROC, which shifted out slightly. Jockey A. Spinks, rider of LUCY LE ROC, was reprimanded and advised to show far greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. LUCY LE ROC – Had to be restrained from heels near the 700m. ZILITOR – After passing the 100m was tightened for room and had to be eased. Apprentice C. Gallagher, rider of SHOTACROSS THE BOW, was issued with a reprimand and advised he must make a greater effort to keep his mounts on a straight when under pressure in the home straight. SHOTACROSS THE BOW – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout . JIMIBRAMZ - After passing the winning post and upon pulling up sustained an injury to the off foreleg. The horse was treated by the veterinary surgeon. Trainer M. Nolan will be advised that he will be required to provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the horse prior to racing again.
