Race 1: GO RACING @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
 
CHILL THE BEER – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
FLYING SARA – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MISHANI ROMANCE – Began awkwardly. Forced wider rounding the home turn when CHILL THE BEER hung out.
 
Race 2: UNDER THE LOUVRE @ GRANDVIEW STUD F&M BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1015M
 
SATYRICON – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
FAME AND FORTUNE – Began awkwardly. Commenced to overrace shortly after the start, got its head up and was shifted three wide to avoid heels and raced three wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
BEYONDTHEUNIVERSE – Raced keenly when being restrained in the early stages.
 
SONA DANCER – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 3: CARLTON MID C,G&E BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1015M
 
The start of this race was delayed initially when QUATTRO FANTASTICO had to be resaddled behind the barriers. The start was further delayed when the off fore plate on THE REAL BOSS had to be refitted.
 
STELLARCRAFT – After being caught three wide in the early stages the horse was allowed to stride forward to obtain the position outside the leader after passing the 600m.
 
Race 4: SIRROMET CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1200M
 
As apprentice B. Nothdurft was under suspension, stewards permitted apprentice J. Guthmann-Chester to be substituted as the rider of GREYWOLF.
 
DENARIUS – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Hung out from approaching the 600m.
 
TAIKO BOOM – Began awkwardly.
 
COOL SEQUENCE – Began awkwardly. Bumped rounding the home turn by PATCHE GIFT, which laid out.
 
GREYWOLF – Slow to begin.
 
DEVLANN – Hampered between runners shortly after the start.
 
PATCHE GIFT – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 5: SCHWEPPES QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1690M
 
IGNITE THE MAGIC – Travelled in a rearward position throughout and finished a distant last. Trainer G. Hardy was advised that the nomination of the gelding would be refused at metropolitan meetings until its form improves.
 
PLITVICE – Had to be steadied away from heels on a number of occasions in the early stages.
 
REALLY SPLENDID – When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, M. Du Plessis indicated that the gelding travelled well in a handy position for the majority of the event, however when placed under pressure in the home straight failed to respond. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in both hind legs. Trainer S. O’Dea was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
TAVERNE – Shifted three wide to improve passing the 700m when the pace slackened in the middle stages. Had a tendency to lay in rounding the home turn and in the home straight when under pressure.ad
 
 
 
 
 
 
UBIRR ROCK – Began awkwardly. Had to be steadied away from the heels of REALLY SPLENDID approaching the 1300m. Slightly held up for a short distance rounding the home turn.
 
FASTATTACK – Raced three wide without cover in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to take up the lead passing the 1100m.
 
LADY CORDAY – Had to be steadied away from heels passing the 1300m.
 
Race 6: IPSWICH RACING MUSEUM ROOM HIRE MAIDEN H'CAP – 1690M
 
WHERE’S THE MONEY – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. L. Tilley accidentally dropped his whip passing the 150m.
 
CONSULAR – Got its head up and overraced in the early stages when being restrained.
 
MILITARY STRIKER – Began awkwardly.
 
RABBIOSA – Got its head up and overraced in the early stages and due to the slow tempo was shifted three wide passing the 1300m and when wide went forward to obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 1000m.
 
Race 7: RIVER 94.9FM MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M
 
PRETTY RICKY – Began awkwardly.
 
LOVE RUSH – Began awkwardly.
 
AIM TO WIN – Faltered and broke down approaching the 1000m and was retired from the event. The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding fractured the near fore sesamoid and was euthanased on humane grounds.
 
GREEN REIGN – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly and hung out rounding the home turn.
 
THEN IT’S ME – Raced tailed off throughout and finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer J. Fitzgerald was advised that the nomination of the gelding would be refused at metropolitan meetings until its form improves and prior to racing again the horse must trial to the satisfaction of stewards.
 
CHICOUTIMI – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 8: FOLLOW ITC@IPSWICHTURFCLUB CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1350M
 
As R. Plumb was not riding due to personal reasons, J. Byrne was substituted as the rider of CHAVO.
 
Trainer B. Currie was fined $200 for the late declaration of apprentice J. Murphy as the rider of LI’L RODGE.
 
The start of this race was initially delayed when the near fore plate on BULLION BELLE had to be refitted behind the barriers. The start was further delayed when CHAVO proved reluctant to load.
 
TOGA PICTA – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Became awkwardly placed at the heels of BULLION BELLE passing the 500m and was forced wider on the track. Commenced to lose ground on straightening and finished at the rear of the field. Rider J. Stanley reported that the gelding today was caught wide and suffered some minor inconvenience throughout the event, however was disappointing. He added that in his opinion the gelding appreciates being ridden more conservatively with cover to allow it to utilise its sprint at the finish of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
AJANI – Began awkwardly. Made contact with the hind quarters of MALCRIADO when racing in restricted room approaching the 900m, turning that horse in, resulting in AJANI being tightened on to the running rail. AJANI then commenced to overrace whilst leading. Laid out passing the 500m and made heavy contact with MALCRIADO.
 
PETAIN – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
WINE BARREL – Held up rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LI’L RODGE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
BULLION BELLE – Had to shift out passing the 900m when awkwardly placed at the heels of MALCRIADO. Forced wider on the track passing the 500m.
 
MALCRIADO – Began awkwardly. The gelding’s saddle shifted forward approaching the 900m. Bumped on the hind quarters by AJANI approaching the 900m, was turned in and tightened AJANI on to the running rail. Bumped heavily by AJANI passing the 500m and in turn forced BULLION BELLE wider on the track.
 
Race 9: QUEENSLAND TIMES CLASS 3 PLATE – 1690M
 
CHOPPA – Prior to the start being effected, the horse was very fractious in the barriers and reared on a couple of occasions.
 
WAS IT WORTH IT – After standing awkwardly in the barriers, the horse then began very awkwardly and lost ground. Cramped for racing room approaching the 400m when CHOPPA shifted in.
 
EXPERTEA – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Bled from both nostrils. Ineligible to race for 3 months, and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
