SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Beaudesert Monday 28 January 2019 – Race 6:
 
Apprentice C. Bayliss, the rider of UNO  BEST, was advised to exercise more care relating to an incident near the 800m where SNUGGLE POT was obliged to steady when UNO BEST improved forward to the lead.
 
Apprentice C. Bayliss was also fined $200 under LR. 48 for failing to seek stewards’ permission to leave the course on that day.
 
GENERAL
 
As A. Spinks was not riding due to illness, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: GRANDVIEW STUD MAIDEN H'CAP – 1350M
 
CAIRNDOW – Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight until a point leaving the 200m.
 
WHERE’S THE MONEY – Improved on to the heels of FOLLOW THE MONEY near the 800m and again near the 700m and had to be steadied.
 
GRAND WHISPER – Held up in the early stages of the home straight and then was disappointed for a run to the outside of BON COURAGE approaching the 200m and was held up again until a point near the 150m.
 
BOUNDARY RYDER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout.
 
Race 2: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 80 H'CAP – 2190M
 
As R. Wiggins was to be overweight, R. Stewart was substituted as the rider of COLOUR OF MONEY. R. Wiggins was fined $200.
 
CONSTANTINE – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
 
Race 3: CARLTON MID C,G&E RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H'CAP – 1200M
 
ALASKA – Slow to begin.
 
OUR ROCKY – Cast the off hind plate in running.
 
Race 4: SIRROMET F&M RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H'CAP – 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed initially to hold for an interstate event.
 
The start was further delayed when the bridle on LADA MICAELA broke upon the mare being loaded. As a consequence, a replacement  bridle had to be applied, which resulted in the mare not racing in a tongue control bit as was advertised.
 
OSMOSIS – Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages. Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
DUCHESS DASHALOT – Slow to begin. Trainer K. Schweida advised that in light of today’s performance he would recommend to connections that the horse be sent for a spell. Mr Schweida undertook to notify stewards should anything come to light in the ensuing days which may have had an effect on the performance.
 
HOWICK – Stood flat-footed at the start. Hung out rounding the home turn. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
LADY MICAELA Raced wide without cover throughout. Bumped by MISS AMANDA over the concluding stages.
 
ONLY EVER ANNIE – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
SHE’S FAST – When questioned as to the poor performance, trainer T. Miller noted that the mare was first up from a spell today and would be stepped up in distance at its next start. Mr Miller was advised that similar performances in future may result in an embargo being placed over the mare for being uncompetitive. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 5: CHANNEL SEVEN CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1350M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, jockey E. Ljung, the rider of 3rd placegetter KING DINISTY, sought to review the patrol footage to ascertain whether there were grounds on which to lodge an objection against 2nd placegetter CRYSTAL AMOR. After viewing the footage Ms Ljung elected not to proceed and correct weight was subsequently declared.
 
KING DINISTY – Steadied from the heels of MAN IN MOTION near the 700m. Upon straightening, attempted to force a run to the outside of MAN IN MOTION but was unable to obtain that run and as a consequence was unable to improve until a point leaving the 100m, at which point the gelding finished the race off strongly.
 
HUSSON’S PRIDE – Began awkwardly.
 
ELLA DIVINE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a sustained a laceration to its tongue.
 
BALLET BABY – Connections advised that it would be the intention to have the mare ridden back in the field. The horse settled at the rear of the field.
 
Race 6: RAY WHITE IPSWICH QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1350M
 
GOGOLDCOAST – Shifted out shortly after the start, making heavy contact with another runner, and became unbalanced. Inconvenienced approaching the 1100m and taken wider on the track by the riderless GOLDSAY.
 
GOLDSAY – Began very awkwardly, making contact with the nearside barrier partition, resulting in jockey R. Wiggins being dislodged shortly after the start. Jockey Wiggins was examined by the QAS ambulance officers and cleared of any injuries.
 
HAFU – Attempted to buck in the early stages. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that a warning was placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
BOOMTOWN LASS – Bumped heavily near the 800m by the riderless GOLDSAY, which then continued to pressure the filly throughout the middle stages of the event, resulting in BOOMTOWN LASS leading by a considerable distance.
 
NOBLE ARTIST – Bumped heavily on a number of occasions shortly after the start before being eased near the 1300m when tightened for room between GOGOLDCOAST and WE WANT IT ALL, which was taken in by HAFU.
 
WE WANT IT ALL – Bumped heavily on a number of occasions shortly after the start and near the 1300m had to be eased from the heels of HAFU, which shifted in. B. Stewart, the rider of HAFU, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
MISS FIALKA – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
EULEILAH – Bumped at the start. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Race 7: FOLLOW ITC @IPSWICHTURFCLUB CLASS 5 PLATE – 1200M
 
FOXY HOUSEWIFE – Steadied from the heels of ABSOLUTLYPOSITIVLY approaching the 800m.
 
OKANAGAN MISS – Began awkwardly. Eased from the heels of SHOW ’EM over the concluding stages.
 
Race 8: IPSWICH RACING MUSEUM ROOM HIRE CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1015M
 
SOLTINHO LAD – Overraced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
 
INKY BAY – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
DUELLATOR – Slow to begin.
