MISSY MUSKETEER – Near the 1600m when its rider elected to assume the lead began to pull hard and refused to settle.

GOTHIC ROMANCE – Inclined to lay in rounding the home turn and then over the final 250m hung in noticeably and proved difficult to ride.

HAKWA – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.

GWAPO – After assuming the lead in the early stages the horse took charge of its rider, pulled hard and proved difficult to settle. Hung out noticeably rounding the home turn and then continued to shift wider when placed under pressure in the run to the finish. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

EPIC RANT – Brushed by GWAPO and forced wider near the 200m.

Race 3 – Queensland Athletics League Maiden Plate – 1350m

Correct weight was delayed in order for stewards to review the dead-heat placings for 2nd and 3rd.  Jockeys Eaton and Hill were also asked to review the photo and when all parties were satisfied correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.

FLAMING LAMBORGINI – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost several lengths. Connections were advised that the filly would require a barrier certificate prior to its next race start.

BOMBAY BULLET – Hampered between runners shortly after the start.

NOBLE ARTIST -  Hung out under pressure over the final 100m.

IF THE SHOE FITS – Shifted out under pressure near the 200m before being corrected by its rider.

Prior to and during the running of this event  significant rain fell.

PERFECT SAGA – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.

HALLOWED GIRL -  Shifted in marginally near the 800m, tightening FALANDY to its inside, which  lost ground.   Steadied form the heels of ADOUR ROCKET approaching the home turn before shifting back to the inside to obtain clear running

FALANDY – Tightened near the 800m and lost ground.

GIDEONS - Momentarily shifted in near the 900m, tightening ADOUR ROCKET to its inside before being corrected by its jockey. Jockey J. Murphy, rider of GIDEONS, was advised  to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.  Approximately 250m after the finishing line the gelding choked down and collapsed, dislodging its rider. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have a breathing disorder and connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required including the results of a dynamic scope under stress prior to its next race start.

ADOUR ROCKET – Tightened near the 900m.

WINDCHILL – Jockey  A. Allen was dislodged when his  mount shied at the fallen horse.

WOOLSEY -  Jockey S. Galloway was dislodged when his mount shied at the fallen horse.

PHIONAIX – Jockey J. Bayliss was dislodged when his mount shied at the fallen horse.

All dislodged riders were assessed by QAS and passed fit to fulfil future engagements.

Post the running of this event when heavy rain persisted all races were rescheduled back one time slot.

Stewards  then  assessed the track  and determined that the surface was unsafe for racing due to 30 mls of rain and pooling water at several sections of the track. The remainder of the meeting was abandoned at 2.10 pm.
