Race 1: CFMEU SAFETY IS UNION BUSINESS QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1666M

ROSENDAHL RED – Slow into stride. Bumped by KNUCKLE UP rounding the home turn and then had some difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance. When asked to comment on the horse’s performance, apprentice J. Hodge indicated that the filly travelled well in the run and shortly after straightening, when attempting a tight run, the filly may not have appreciated being cluttered up at that point. He added that once clear the filly finished the race off fairly and in his opinion may not have been suited to today’s track conditions.

LOVES A LOTTERY – Began awkwardly.

ARC OF GOLD – Began awkwardly.

KNUCKLE UP – Slow to begin.

Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to SOFT 7.

Race 2: CFMEU CHANGE THE RULES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1666M

After being loaded into the barriers WICKED HEIGHTS became fractious and lunged at the front gates. After being removed from the barriers and examined by the veterinary surgeon the gelding was cleared to start. The horse also had to be resaddled. STRONG DESIRE, which was drawn in the adjoining stall, was also removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

WHERE’S THE MONEY – Stood flat-footed at the start, then began awkwardly and shifted out, losing considerable ground. After passing the 900m, due to the slow tempo, rider J. Orman elected to shift his mount three wide and improve forward to obtain a position outside the lead passing the 600m.

STRONG DESIRE – Laid in approaching the 100m and then was disappointed for a run to the outside of WICKED HEIGHTS and to the inside of QUOTANT, which shifted in slightly.

QUOTANT – Laid out passing the 400m. Laid in over the final 100m.

LET’S BOOM – Held up for a short distance after passing the 400m.

LITTLE RED DEVIL – Tightened for room on jumping. Raced three wide without cover in the early stages before striding forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1500m.

IT AIN’T ALL HONEY – Began awkwardly. Elected to shift three wide to improve passing the 1100m and obtained the position outside the leader.
