Race 1: RIVER 94.9FM C,G&E MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
 
HE’S MCCAW – After racing in a rearward position for the majority of the event, rider C. Bayliss desisted from pressuring his mount over the final 300m as he was of the opinion that something may be amiss with the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer W. Kuskopf was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
GREAT KEPPELL – Began awkwardly, unbalancing its rider. Laid out under pressure over the final 100m.
 
HI ZERO – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Brushed on a couple of occasions over the final 100m when GREAT KEPPELL laid out.
 
POTRO DURO – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
PRINCE DUPORTH – Began awkwardly. Laid in and brushed the running rail passing the 900m.
 
SOUNDS GREAT – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
Race 2: SIRROMET F&M MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
 
AMERICAN LOVE – Began awkwardly and then was hampered between CHOICE MISSILE and CELEBRITA’S CHOICE, which shifted in.
 
BUB’S GOLD – Bumped shortly after the start. Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
CELEBRITA’S CHOICE – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
CHOICE MISSILE – Began awkwardly.
 
EXPRESS FANTASY – Began awkwardly and then was taken in by INGEAR, which shifted in shortly after the start.
 
INGEAR – Began awkwardly and shifted in shortly after the start. Overraced when being restrained in the lead. Raced greenly and hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3.
 
Race 3: SCHWEPPES QTIS 2YO CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1200M
 
ZIEMBA – Hampered on jumping, had to be steadied and lost ground.
 
CRAZY GOOD – Began awkwardly.
 
STAMPE – Began awkwardly and shifted in, tightening runners to its inside.
 
GALAXIES PRIDE – Tightened for room between runners shortly after the start and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout.
 
BUTTON PUSHER – Began awkwardly.
 
KUSAMA – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 4: CARLTON MID MAIDEN H'CAP – 1680M
 
PEBKAC – Slow to begin.
 
CONSTRUE – Began awkwardly.
 
ARZU – Bumped on jumping.
 
ENCHANTED REIGN – Had to be steadied away from heels passing the 600m.
 
MADDIE’S HEART – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying poor post-race recovery. Trainer M. Hemmings was advised that in light of the horse’s performance its nomination would be refused at metropolitan and provincial meetings until such time as its form improves at country venues.
 
YANKEE SANG – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: RAY WHITE IPSWICH CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1680M
 
SMOKEY DIAMOND – Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
 
DELFUEGO – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden in a forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Laid in under pressure over the final 50m.
 
GREAT POWERS – Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
VELITES – Began awkwardly.
 
EXPERT REPLY – Forced wider on the track passing the 1400m when bumped by KIRA’S BEAT, which shifted out.
 
KIRA’S BEAT – Improved on to the heels of MY DELILAH passing the 1400m, had to be restrained, and shifted out, bumping EXPERT REPLY. Raced three wide without cover after passing the 1200m.
 
LUBYOUFOREVER – Became awkwardly placed at heels shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Had to be steadied approaching the winning post when racing in restricted room to the inside of DELFUEGO.
 
Race 6: WHITTINGTON @ GRANDVIEW STUD BENCHMARK 70 H'CAP – 1350M
 
CHARLIE CAT – Shifted four wide to improve after passing the 700m.
 
TIME TO PLAY – Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
POLEMIC – Had to be steadied away from the heels of CLOWN IN THE MOON passing the 800m.
 
GO GET SUM – Began awkwardly.
 
GREGORY – Raced three wide without cover.
 
LEGAL COUNSEL – Began awkwardly.
 
CLOWN IN THE MOON – After being crossed by GO GET SUM passing the 900m, improved on to the heels of that runner, had to be restrained, got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance.
 
Race 7: TAB CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1200M
 
EXDREAM – Bumped shortly after the start, blundered and lost significant ground. Held up rounding the home turn. When asked to explain the tactics adopted, J. Lloyd stated that his instructions were to be just off the speed if possible, however after receiving interference at the start and blundering badly and losing ground, the gelding settled much further back than anticipated. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
CHARWAY – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
REVEL – Bumped on the hind quarters by CHARWAY on jumping.  Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
SHE’S SPICY – Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition.
 
HARDLY TOUCHED – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
MOSAQUA – A post-race veterinary examination at the request of the trainer revealed no significant findings.
 
Race 8: CHANNEL SEVEN CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1100M
 
ONE STRYKE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DESERT MAN – After being caught three wide in the early stages and unable to be restrained to take a position with cover after passing the 800m, was allowed to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader.
 
DREAMSCOPE – Began awkwardly.
 
LULU EXPRESS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
COOL DRAFTS – Hampered on jumping. Shifted out approaching the home turn in an attempt to secure clear running, but upon straightening was held up from the 300m until the 150m.
 
ZOFF ‘N’ OFF – Began awkwardly.
