Wallace & S. TauStewards Secretary – S. Rolls GENERAL As App S. Tomlinson was injured Stewards permitted rider changes as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Race 1: IVVY.COM.AU Class 3 Handicap – 1710m BRYBECK – Slow into stride. PROUD ROC – Slow into stride. BUSTA MOVE – Overraced in the early stages. ADDOCARR – Which was an easing favourite and finished third was sent to be swabbed. Race 2: Sirromet Maiden Handicap – 1350m REG ‘N’ KATH – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. BLAZING FAIRY – Began awkwardly. Improved onto heels near the 200m and had to be steadied. CHALET GRAND – Slow into stride. TOKAI MEIGETSU – Overraced in the early stages. Had to be steadied from the heels of ROSTRUM passing the 1000m. ROSTRUM – Raced greenly in the home straight when placed under pressure. Race 3: Barn Family Restaurant Now Open Maiden Handicap – 1350m As L. Tilley was indisposed Stewards permitted R. Palmer to be substituted as the rider of DE NOVA STELLA. DAYTONA DANICA – Made contact with the barrier partition on jumping. MA’CHANEL – Raced keenly throughout and proved difficult to settle. DE NOVA STELLA – Raced three wide throughout. BOCHELY – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Jockey B. Ainsworth (MAHSTAR) was reprimanded for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m. Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 4. Race 4: Carlton Mid QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap – 1350m TRUST IN ALOHA – Fractious in the barriers. Raced in restricted room passing the 800m. Rounding the home turn was bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced. LATIN PROPHET – Began awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn. MISHANI CONMAN – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Forced wider passing the 500m. GINJA – Bumped on jumping. HERTZKA – Slow into stride. Shifted wider passing the 500m to avoid a weakening runner. PETUNIA – Cramped on jumping and settled in a rearward position. EAGLES FOREVER – Raced keenly in the early stages. READY FOR CRUISING – Commenced to weaken near the 500m and performed poorly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering from mild heat stress. READY TO CHASE – When asked to comment on the tactics adopted Jockey T. Marshall stated that his instructions were to lead. Jockey Marshall added he had to work harder than anticipated in order to lead and the gelding then commenced to race keenly and proved difficult to settle. Stewards noted his comments. Race 5: TAB Maiden Handicap – 1100m CHEMICAL EX – Slow into stride. BOOMING TOWN – Began awkwardly. App W. Peel reported that the gelding felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a laceration to the off hind cannon. KEEPMOVING FORWARD – Began awkwardly and shifted out. SKILORD – Hampered on jumping. SIR EDMUND – Near the 800m hung in tightening runners to its inside. Cast the near hind plate in running. Trainer R. Drysdale was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. BUDDY’S TALE – Near the 800m was severely tightened for racing room, checked and lost its position. MATERIALISM – Placed in restricted racing room passing the 800m. Race 6: Happy Retirement Lester Grimmett Benchmark 62 Handicap – 1100m BOUNTY HUNTER underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after arriving at the gates when Jockey S. Thornton reported her mount felt awkward in its action. BOUNTY HUNTER was subsequently found to the lame in the near hind leg and declared a late scratching at 3.19 p.m. All monies invested on BOUNTY HUNTER were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3.19 p.m.:- 0 cents in the dollar for the win #12 (STAY SMART)3 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #12 (STAY SMART)0 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #4 (TRENGGANU)2 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #3 (NIEWAND) Trainer J. Johnston was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the gelding racing again. INVINCIBLE FAITH – Slow into stride. TRENGGANU – Tightened between runners on jumping and lost ground. JAZZ QUEEN – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Jockey S. Cormack reported his mount made the approach to the home turn awkwardly. WHITEBAIT PATTIE – Raced three wide in the early stages. BEAU TIRAGE – Raced ungenerously throughout the event and continuously got its head up proving difficult to ride. Approaching the 600m was restrained from heels. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. NIEWAND – Jockey J. Orman reported his mount was inclined to lay in in the home straight. STAY SMART – App W. Peel reported post-race that her mount felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had gotten down on its bumpers. Jockey B. Stewart (OUR SWAN LAKE) was reprimanded for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m. Race 7: Schweppes Benchmark 60 Handicap – 1350m The start was delayed approximately 1½ minutes when THE HAND proved difficult to load. THE WARDSMEN – Began awkwardly. Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. PHIONAIX – Began awkwardly and shifted out. THE HAND – Bumped on jumping. WHOSTOPPEDTHERAIN – Held up approaching the home turn. Race 8: Sky Racing Class 1 Handicap – 1710m NITROGLYCERINE – Trainer B. Brown advised the intention would be to ride the horse more forward today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. After being caught three wide early progressed forward and reached the position outside the leader near the 1000m. KIMPEMBE – Began moderately. OUTBACK GLADIATOR – Slow into stride. Approximately 50m from the line improved onto the heels of LINCOLN SKY before moving to its inside to secure clear running. HIGHLAND SKIPPER – Raced three wide throughout. JEWEL OF THE CROWN - A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare had suffered a small laceration to the left hind coronet band. BLITZEN PASTURE – When asked to comment on the below market performance Jockey J. Byrne stated that the gelding raced very flat. Stable foreperson M.
