Correct weight was delayed to allow the trainer and rider of the second placed horse DENARIUS, to view the footage of the concluding stages to determine if there were grounds to lodge an objection against the winner GOLDEN MEAN.  After viewing the footage the rider elected to lodge an objection.
In giving consideration to the objection, Stewards were of the opinion that passing the 50m GOLDEN MEAN did shift out under riding and made contact with DENARIUS, which was carried wider.  Stewards when considering the contact, the short neck margin between the two runners and the proximity to the finishing line, were unable to be satisfied that the interference suffered to DENARIUS was greater than that of the official margin and therefore dismissed the objection.
