PROUD ROC – Slow to begin. Rider A. Chau was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used the whip on six (6) occasions prior to the final 100 metres, being one (1) more than permitted.

LI'L RODGE – Shortly after the start commenced to overrace and proved difficult to be restrained. Laid in under pressure over the final 100 metres. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, rider T. Marshall stated that he was instructed to obtain a forward position if possible in the small field and, after obtaining a position outside the leader in the early stages, the gelding would not settle and due to the steady tempo raced too keenly. Shortly after passing the 800 metres, he allowed his mount to quicken and was of the opinion that it was afforded every opportunity to win. Stewards noted the explanation.

ZIGALLENE – Over the final 50 metres was brushed and raced in restricted room to the inside of LI’L RODGE. Rider R. Palmer entered a plea of guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(5) for excessive use of the whip in that she used the whip 17 times, being 2 more than permitted. Stewards suspended rider R. Palmer’s licence to ride in races for a period of seven (7) days to commence at midnight on 26 September 2020 and to expire at midnight on 3 October 2020.
