Race 1: CARLTON MID BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 800 metres
 
The start was delayed when TOECANARGIE MAN had to have its reins replaced after arriving at the barriers.
 
GODFATHER'S GIRL – Bumped at the start.
 
DREAMALINA - Rider V Venkaya was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(i) for using his whip on one consecutive occasion prior to the 100m.
 
TOECANARGIE MAN – Passing the 500m was eased when placed in restricted room to the inside of KIRRA LASS.
 
ORSETTO – Began awkwardly. Forced wider rounding the home turn by HALLSIDEHANKYPANKY which hung out.
 
THE BUMBLEBEE – Bumped at the start. Approaching the winning post was eased when awkwardly placed at the heels of HALLSIDEHANKYPANKY which hung out.
 
HALLSIDEHANKYPANKY – Passing the 600m commenced to hang out and made the home turn wide proving difficult to ride. Trainer J Edwards was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s manners.
 
KIRRA LASS – Began awkwardly shifted out and bumped GODFATHER'S GIRL.
 
RAKU'S SECRET – Passing the 700m was be eased when crowded for room by KIRRA LASS which shifted in.
 
Race 2: NOEL KELLY MEMORIAL Class 5 Handicap 1350 metres
 
The start was delayed when HIGHER LOVE had to have its near side front plate refitted
 
Correct weight was delayed whilst Stewards considered an objection lodged by R Maloney rider of NATURAL FORCE which was placed second, against INCHNG CLOSER being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 100m. After considering the evidence, it was established that near the 50m NATURAL FORCE was bumped by INCHING CLOSER which shifted in. As Stewards could not be satisfied had the interference not occurred that NATURAL FORCE would have finished ahead of INCHING CLOSER, therefore dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the judges semaphored numbers.

NATURAL FORCE – Passing the 50m was bumped by INCHING CLOSER.
 
CHAPELCO- Raced three wide without cover throughout. When asked to comment on the performance rider S Cormack stated that he was unable to find a position with cover and that after traveling past the 900m was obliged to race in a three wide position. He added that when the pace quickened passing the 500m the gelding failed to improve when asked, however over the concluding stages finished the race off well. He further added that CHAPELCO has raced flat previously when second up from a spell and in his opinion may appreciate racing on a bigger track than that of today’s event.
 
INCHING CLOSER – Laid in over the final 50m.
 
LWAZI – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: SIRROMET Class 1 Handicap 1680 metres
 
CONQUERING JUDAS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
WEALTH'N'POWER – Held up for clear running from the 500m until the 300m before shifting wider to obtain clear running.
 
FAY CONQUERS ALL – Bumped on the hind quarters on jumping. Held up from the 500m and rounding the home turn became awkwardly placed at the heels of GREY COURT when attempting a narrow run before securing clear running near the 300m.
 
BISHOJO –Forced wider passing the 500m by ELOTROLADO which shifted out to improve.
 
SPIRITUAL ROSE – Began awkwardly and bumped the hind quarters of FAY CONQUERS ALL. Held up for clear running from the 500m until the 300m.
 
Following race 3 the track was upgraded to a Good 3.
 
Race 4: HOTEL KERWICK REDBANK QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
The start was delayed when BATTLE THROUGH proved difficult to load.
 
MISHANI EPIC – Slow to begin.
 
BATTLE THROUGH – Hung out rounding the home turn. Approaching the 100m altered course to the outside of LADY LANCASTER to avoid heels. Trainer B Smith advised that in light of today’s performance he would consider sending the gelding for a spell.
 
DASH FOR DREAMS – Improved onto heels approaching the 50m and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
DUSI CANOE – Unable to muster speed in the early stages. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
LADY LANCASTER – Raced keen in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 5: ONE VENUE, ANY OCCASION Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
The start was delayed for the following reasons;
 
When STRAITOUTTAHARLEM had to have its near hind plate refitted prior to leaving the enclosure.
 
When loaded BAUHINIA BEANS became fractious and was cast in the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 3:23pm. All monies invested on BAUHINIA BEANS were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3:23pm:

8 cents in the dollar for 2nd place # 7
2 cents in the dollar for 3rd place # 9
 
Trainer B Baldwin was notified the he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance and the gelding must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to the horse racing again.
 
When NEW YORK STATE refused to load and was subsequently declared a late scratching scratching at 3:25pm. All monies invested on NEW YORK STATE were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters between 3:23pm and 3:25pm:

Trainer M Eggleston was notified that the gelding must satisfactorily trial in the presence of a Steward prior to the horse racing again.
 
EDIFICATION – Laid in from the 200m.
 
CRIBBY MISS – Apprentice S Tomlinson reported that the mare raced greenly throughout.
 
JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
MYKISS FROMA ROSE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Apprentice M Savva was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on nine occasions prior to the 100m, which is four more than permitted.
 
LET'S BOOM – Improved onto heels approaching the 200m.
 
ARATULA – Lost an off hind plate in running. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
STRAITOUTTAHARLEM – Trainer P Butterworth advised that the intention was to ride the filly back from the wide barrier. Settled in a position worse than mid field.  
 
TOP TINKA – Slow to begin.
 
Race 6: IEEC.COM.AU Colts, Geldings & Entires RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1350 metres
 
THE DEMTEL MAN – Laid out passing the 300m.
 
WILD MOON - Held up for clear running passing the 600m until passing the 400m.
 
COLUMN – Passing the 800m shifted out and away from the heels of LIVE MUSIC.
 
I'M CALLIN' DIBS – Began awkwardly.
 
FROM NOW - Slow to begin.
 
OUR ROCKY – Approaching the 300m laid in slightly and became awkward at the heels of THE DEMTEL MAN which laid out, before being shifted wider to improve.  
 
Race 7: TAB VENUE MODE Fillies & Mares RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1350 metres
 
MY DIAMOND GIRL – Laid out in the home straight. When asked to comment on the performance rider R Fradd indicated that after settling in a handy position throughout the mare failed to respond to his riding over the final 400m and was disappointing.
 
 
SIZZLING DIAMOND – Raced wide in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to obtain a position with cover passing the 800m.
 
DEVILLAIN – Fractious in the tie up stalls. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Reared as the start was effected. Raced keen in the early and middle stages and resented being restrained.
 
ELYSIA – Began awkwardly.
 
THAT'S HER I THINK – Over raced in the early and middle stages and got its head up on several occasions when being restrained. Rider T Marshall was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, which is one more than permitted.
 
Following race 7, Rider S Thornton requested to be examined by QAS after being contacted in the head by her mount on pulling up in race 6. Racing Queensland Safety Officer was notified of this incident.
 
Race 8: 8 SCHWEPPES Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
FULL NELSON – After being caught wide in the early stages and after attempting to restrain to obtain cover and unable to do so, the rider elected to allow the gelding to travel where comfortable and was caught three wide as a joint leader from the 800m.
 
BROCKY – Bumped at the start. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
CHAMPAGNE TOOTS – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Forced wider rounding the home turn by BROCKY which shifted out to improve. Rider R Fradd reported that the mare raced fresh today and would derive benefit from the run.
 
MISS TOO FLY – After being caught wide early was restrained to the rear of the field to obtain a position with cover passing the 800m.
 
DOTTI DEAR – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
MOCKING – Raced four wide with cover throughout. Forced wider rounding the home turn.
 
FANTASAY – Began awkwardly and was bumped heavily by BROCKY resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced.
 
ZOLLIKON MISS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
