Apprentice N Fazackerley was issued a fine of $200 under AR190(3) in that he was unable to fulfill his engagement in race 1 due to being overweight. Race 1: HARMONY BATHROOM PRODUCTS Maiden Handicap 2150 metres ANACHEEVA LAD – Raced keenly during the early stages. GOOD AS A ROCKET – Began awkwardly.From the wide barrier was permitted to stride forward and lead. Compounded from the 600m, Rider R Fradd reported that the mare did not feel comfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the right hind. Trainer J Manzelmann was advised the mare would require a veterinary certificate prior to racing again. I KNOW YVES (NZ) – Change of tactics; to be ridden further forward. The gelding was ridden accordingly. TORQUE TO ROMAN – Due to the moderate tempo was permitted to stride forward by its rider near the 1200m to assume the leading position near the 1000m. Race 2: K&R PLUMBING SUPPLIES QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 800 metres OUR IRISH EMPEROR – Buffered on jumping and lost ground. Laid out rounding the home turn. FROOME – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner. Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider J Byrne could offer no explanation for the below market expectation performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. DREAM WEAVING – Near the 700m was steadied away from the heels of PROUDLY GREY (H Richardson) which shifted in when not clear. Rider H Richardson was advised to exercise more care. JENNEFICIAL – Raced greenly in the early stages and near the 700m shifted out abruptly when awkwardly placed at heels. IN HAVANA – Near the 500m when racing in restricted room whilst racing greenly was checked and lost ground. COOL ESPRESSO – Dipped on jumping away. Laid out rounding the home turn. Raced wide throughout. STRUMAN - Slow to begin. Near the 500m was inconvenienced to avoid the heels of IN HAVANA which lost ground. Race 3: RACEVIEW SOCIAL CLUB Class 1 Handicap 800 metres ZOOMFIELD – Held up from the 300m and until passing the 200m. SHEEZASINGA – Rider R Maloney reported that his saddle slipped back at the start. Laid out for the majority of the event. GOTTHERE – Slow to begin. OUR BOY BORRIS – Fractious in the barrier, began awkwardly and lost ground. Trainer P Sexton was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. SAM'S ALLYCAT – Raced wide without cover throughout. MR NODDY – Held up and unable to improve from the 500m until passing the 200m. DUTCH ROCKET – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ALAN ALAN STEVE – Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 4: TAB VENUE MODE Class 3 Handicap 1200 metres COOK IT CHARLIE – Near the 700m hung out and as a result clipped the heels of PENASQUITO. Continued to hang out for the remainder of the event. REST OF THE WORLD – Hung out rounding the home turn. MISHANI DESTROYER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider R Fradd reported that the gelding raced lethargic and may not have handled the hot conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. APOLLO PRINCE (NZ) – Near the 250m was inconvenienced and bumped by COOK IT CHARLIE (App. N Fazackerely) which shifted out. Apprentice N Fazackerley was reminded of his obligation to prevent his mount from shifting ground. GUNNOBE – Hung out rounding the home turn. Race 5: VALE BOB BAYLISS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1666 metres LUVYOUANYTIME – Bumped heavily shortly after the start. Was eased down in the home straight, Apprentice J Lloyd stated that the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of mild heat stress. DEFACTOR – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival on course and was subsequently passed suitable to race. Performed below market expectation, Rider J Orman stated it was not his intention to lead in today’s event but after beginning well and from the awkward gate settled in the lead. He added that the gelding, in his opinion would be better suited ridden with cover. CAREERING AWAY – Steadied near the 250m when racing in restricted room between ENCHANTINGLY (L Dittman) and GRATSIE (J Stanley) which shifted out to improve. GRATSIE – Held up between the 400m and 250m. ENCHANTINGLY – Hung out rounding the home turn. Near the 100m when commencing to weaken was momentarily placed in restricted room and was eased. Rider L Dittman stated that the mare would be better suited on tracks with more give. RIGHTEOUSNESS – Began awkwardly and was then restrained to settle worse than mid field position. ROCK PEARL (NZ) – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. THE POTATO PONTIFF – Stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Raced keenly during the middle stages. Trainer L Gore was advised that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards in two consecutive trials prior to next racing. Race 6: K&R PLUMBING SUPPLIES Fillies and Mares RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1350 metres MISS DAIQUIRI – Over raced during the early and middle stages. FEARLESS QUEEN – Over raced in the early stages. PYTHIA – Approaching the winning post, improved onto heels and had to be steadied. LOVESPEED GIRL – Slipped at the start and lost ground. YAWKYAWK – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. PRIVATE PROFIT – Raced wide with cover for the majority of the event. TRUST ISSUES – Slow to begin. Race 7: EQUESTRIAN QUEENSLAND Colts, Geldings and Entires RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 1350 metres MIGHTY MOOSE – Bounded at the start. MISHANI COURAGE – Raced wide without cover throughout. Performed below market expectation. Rider M Cahill stated that the gelding did not begin cleanly and settle further back than anticipated and in his opinion was disappointing. VASSA BLUE – Bumped near the 150m and became momentarily tightened before being steadied. OUR ROCKY – Raced wide with cover throughout. CONQUERING JUDAS – Held up from the 400m until passing the 150m. BURNING SUCCESS – Near the 50m jumped a piece of plastic that was on the track. CHIAKI – Momentarily held up near the 200m. CELTIC TIGER (NZ) – Approaching the 150m was tightened between POLE VOLTER (R Palmer) which shifted in marginally and VASSA BLUE (T Wolfgram) which after being bumped by CONQUERING JUDAS (J Byrne) shifted out. ANIMAL INSTINCT – Rider M Schrapel was advised to ensure he rides his mounts out to the concluding stages.
