AIR FORCE ROCKET – After being loaded into the barriers, became fractious, was removed and examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Over-raced in the early stages. Near the 600 metres had to be restrained from heels for some distance when awkwardly placed at the heels of PORTOBELLO ROAD.

MAJESTICS REQUEST – Hampered at the start. Laid out rounding the home-turn. Inclined to shift out under pressure in the home straight. Rider J Huxtable was advised to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion.

SON OF PHAROAH – Taken wider rounding the home-turn when MAJESTICS REQUEST laid out.

Race 2: BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Class 4 Handicap 1100 metres

ADORADANCER – Hampered near the 100 metres when taken out and bumped on the hindquarters of TOUJOURS L’AMOUR.

RAGING POLE – When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance trainer T Sears stated the geldings most recent starts had been in stronger class and its performances had been better than its form suggests. Mr Sears added a senior rider was employed today and that today’s race was run to suit the racing pattern of RAGING POLE.

LOGAN'S BLADE – Near the 1000 metres shifted out to afford racing room to DORSET COAST, before shifting out further resulting in ADORADANCER being hampered when contacted on the hindquarters of TOUJOURS L’AMOUR.

TOUJOURS L'AMOUR – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

Race 3: LJ HOOKER IPSWICH Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Handicap 1350 metres

SAMURAI – Began awkwardly.

FEDERAL AGENT – Slipped in the tie up stalls prior to the event, examined by veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Rider T Harrison explained after leading the event she was unable to dictate the pace of the race after TYCOON PLAYER, which was over-racing, applied pressure from the 800 metres. Ms Harrison added as a result FEDERAL AGENT was obliged to work harder than anticipated and weakened over the concluding stages. Shifted out marginally near 150 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of FEDERAL AGENT revealed no abnormalities.

BIGGIE – Taken out marginally near 150 metres.

STUCK WITH YOU – Shifted in slightly near the 150 metres.

TYCOON PLAYER – Over-raced in the early stages. Passing the 1200 metres had to be restrained from heels and threw its head in the air before shifting out taking SAMARUI wider on the track. TYCOON PLAYER then progressed forward to race outside the leader near the 900 metres. Passing the 150 metres was checked between STUCK WITH YOU which shifted in slightly under pressure and BIGGIE, which after obtaining a narrow run between TYCOON PLAYER and FEDERAL AGENT was taken out marginally.

A post-race veterinary examination of REBEL ROCK revealed the gelding to be striding short in both front legs AFTER SUSTAINING as a result of bruising to both heels. Co-trainer W Hulbert was advised REBEL ROCK must obtain a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
