SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Ipswich Race 7 - Monday 3 May 2021. Trainer B Healy advised stewards that he was dissatisfied in the way WOLF MOON had pulled up and it would be sent for a spell.
 
 
GENERAL
 
 
Race 1: VALE NOEL DOYLE Maiden Handicap 2180 metres
 
 
HUDOO VUDOO – Laid in under pressure over the final 150m.
 
TAVI PIN (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
MASO – Raced keenly and proved difficult to restrain when leading.
 
PRETTY POSY – Crowded for racing room on jumping and obliged to ease when racing to the inside of SPIRITUAL. Jockey V Venkaya rider of SPIRITUAL was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Near the 1000m shifted three wide with cover to improve.
 
 
DUTCH DELIGHT (NZ) – Blundered on jumping.
 
IDIDITMYWAY – Very slow to begin. Near the 1100m shifted three wide to improve when the pace steadied.
 
SPIRITUAL – Shifted in on jumping. Jockey V Venkaya was fined $400 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
SYVEL GOLD – Raced three wide early before obtaining cover nearer to the rail approaching the 1400m.
 
 
Race 2:HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY MATT Fillies & Mares RATINGS
BAND 0 - 62 Handicap 1350 metres.
 
 
KASITA – Slow to begin. Near the 1000m raced keenly when in restricted room to the inside of WICKMO and was bumped several times.
 
WICKMO – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Near the 1000m over raced and proved difficult to restrain.
 
CONCEALED DYNAMITE – Slow to begin and was then bumped. Near the 900m laid in and brushed the rail.
 
JAY CURVE – Near 900m raced keenly in restricted room to the inside of MELO MELO which shifted in.
 
MELO MELO – When asked to comment regarding the filly’s performance Jockey G Cartwright stated that MELO MELO felt very one paced and would benefit from a rise in distance.
 
Following this event Jockey Bradley Appo was examined by QAS and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagement.
 
Race 3: JACKSON WHITNEY QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1350 metres
 
 
BAYERISCHE – Near the 900m obliged to ease when crossed by STJARNA. Jockey Bradley Appo rider of STJARNA was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Forced wider approaching the 250m. Near the 50m bumped on the hind quarters by THE LOVE OF MARY and became unbalanced.
 
CHOSEN TO SIZZLE – Jockey N Callow reported that the gelding felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting shin soreness in both fore legs. Trainer B Lockwood advised that the gelding would be spelled.
 
COMMIT TO SUCCESS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
EVERLAST – Delayed start when difficult to load. Raced three wide in the early and middle stages.
 
PENTITO –Hung out rounding the home turn then laid out in the home straight.
 
 
PICK ZA BEANS – Slow to begin. Near 150m inconvenienced and shifted wider on the course.
 
REBEL LASS – Slow to begin.
 
THE LOVE OF MARY – Near the 800m crowded for racing room between REBEL LASS and COMMIT TO SUCCESS which laid in. Near the 250m after improving onto the heels of PENTITO, shifted wider in an attempt to secure clear running to the outside of that runner and to the inside of BAYERISCHE. Near 150m crowded and bumped several times when PENTITO shifted out. Apprentice S Tomlinson rider of PENTITO was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
 
Race 4:YOU'RE SECURE BLINDS/WINDOWS/DOORS QTIS
Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1690 metres
 
 
ZOUDICA (NZ) – Brushed near the 150m with LOVEISABATTLEFIELD.
 
DAPHNE FRANCES – Performed poorly and finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer T Cotsiopoulos  was of the opinion that DAPHNE FRANCES did not run out todays distance and advised that it was her intention to drop the filly back in distance for its future start.
 
LAZARETTE – Slow to begin.
 
LOVEISABATTLEFIELD – Bumped approaching the finish line
 
SAXON ROSE – Slow to begin.
 
Following this race Jockey Bradley Appo was re-examined by QAS and was unwell. Jockey Appo was advised that he would require a medical clearance prior to race riding.
 
 
Race 5: TRIDAN ELECTRICAL SERVICES - EDDIES CUP Class 4
Handicap 1200 metres
 
 
WHAM – Bumped on jumping.
 
THERE YOU ARE – Passing 200m, laid in and bumped the hind quarters of LETS GO BOBBY.
 
DEPTHS BELOW – Began awkwardly.
 
THE LAUNCHER – Improved three wide approaching the 700m.
 
LET'S GO BOBBY – Passing the 200m was bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced.
 
 
 
 
Race 6:CONGRATULATIONS TERRY & VERONICA RAMSAY
BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 2180 metres
 
 
ABERLADY – Slow to begin.
 
CLASS OF ROYALTY – Apprentice M Kennedy reported that her saddle shifted back near the 1100m placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder. Cast its off fore plate in running.
 
LADY SOLERNO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ACCESSORY – Began awkwardly.
 
THE MINIVAN – Slow to begin.
 
CALL ME LEGEND – Slow to begin. Apprentice N Fazackerley was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip 7 times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.
 
WILDWOOD JADE – Slow to begin. Near the 700m shifted four wide to improve.
 
CONSULAR – Hung in throughout and proved difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer L Mayfield- Smith advised that in his opinion the gelding performs best on softer tracks and in lieu of todays performance he intends to spell the gelding.
 
PRINCESS SPARKLES – Near the 1700m laid in onto the heels of CALL ME LEGEND before shifting out abruptly. Near the 700m shifted three wide to improve.
 
 
 
Race 7: PROGRAMMED PROPERTY SERVICES Class 2 Plate
1690 metres
 
 
 
KIRRO – Over raced middle stages. Near the 900m shifted out to avoid the heels of QUALIFY then allowed to stride forward four wide by its rider.
 
ALLUDERE – Laid in near the 900m.
 
HELMET HEAD – Held up approaching the home turn and in the early part of straight.
 
MODULO – Shifted three wide near the 700m to improve. Jockey N Tomizawa was reminded of his obligations regarding his whip use on horses out of contention and the height of his arm.
 
EDINBURGH – Near the 900m tightened when ALLUDERE laid in and made contact with the rail and became unbalanced.
 
 
 
Race 8: JESS & JACK COBBIN Colts, Geldings & Entires RATINGS
BAND 0 - 62 Handi 1350 metres
 
 
RINVIATA (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
RIVER ROCKET – Tightened, checked and lost ground as the start was effected. Near the 650m its rider elected to improve wider on the course.
 
CELTIC TIGER – Tightened, checked and lost ground as the start was effected. Near the 650m its rider elected to improve wider on the course. Laid in approaching the 250m and proved difficult to ride for a short distance.
 
THE DEMTEL MAN – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Approaching the 400m obliged to steady between runners.
 
WITHOUT THINKING – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
MANDEVILLE ROCKER (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
ASTRAL KNIGHT – Slow to begin then steadied from the heels of RINVIATA which shifted out.
 
DOMINANT WITNESS – Began awkwardly shifted out and was bumped.
