ENTERPRISE ELECTRA – The mare was accidently struck across the head by the whip of the rider of ROSE BY DESIGN near the 150 metres. CALATHIEL – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn. GALA RAIN – Laid out over the final 100 metres. GALAXY GEM – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Following the disappointing performance trainer D Hansen advised he would now be considering the mare’s immediate racing future. NINETYNINE STEPS – Slow to begin. Race 2: THANKS TO THE IPSWICH COMMUNITY QTIS Two-Year-OldHandicap 1350 metres HINGED – Laid in under pressure over the final 100 metres. TOKYO FRIENDS – Slow to begin. REAL DIVINE – Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover throughout. THE LOVE OF MARY - S Galloway was granted permission to ride LOVE OF MARY 1/2kg over its allocated weight due to Covid 19 restrictions. Race 3: THANKS RANGE EVENT HIRE Colts, Geldings and EntiresMaiden Handicap 1350 metres TEPPANYAKI (NZ) – Raced three wide with cover for majority of the event. Rider reported the horse failed to handle the prevailing track conditions. Trainer D Vandyke reported the colt would now have an ease up and that he would not start TEPPANYAKI on a heavy track going forward. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer D Vandyke was advised TEPPANYAKI must trial prior to its next race start. A post-race swab sample was taken. BONJOUR MATE – Raced keenly near the 900 metres before shifting out a short distance later. Raced three wide with cover for majority of the event. DOUBLE BARRELL – Crowded on jumping and lost ground. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. RED ZORRO – Rider T Wolfgram reported with the step up in distance instructions were to race handy with cover. Trainer B Hill confirmed instructions adding that going forward he would be keeping RED ZORRO in races over a similar distance to today’s event and would continue to have the horse ridden to these instructions. Stewards noted the explanation of Mr Hill however he was reminded of his obligation in regard to advise Stewards of any change of tactics. TOROWOTO – Held up rounding the home turn. STRICTLY PHYSICAL – When asked to comment on tactics adopted trainer D Hansen stated the gelding was second up today and from the wide draw on the heavy track, instructions were to be positive from the start, however did not expect the horse to lead. Rider B El Issa confirmed the instructions stating that after being caught wide in the early stages he allowed STRICTLY PHYSICAL to stride forward adding that the gelding appreciated today’s heavy track conditions. Stewards noted the explanation of D Hansen however he was advised should STRICTLY PHYSICAL’S pattern of racing change this must be communicated to Stewards. YUFCALLEDCHARLIE – Raced three wide without cover for majority of the event. ROARING SPIRIT – Slow to begin. JIMMY NEUTRON – Slow to begin. Race 4: THANK YOU MEMBERS QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 800 metres MISHANI ENCHANTED – Slow to begin. MISHANI DELIGHT – Raced five wide throughout. MONDAY MONDAY – Raced three wide throughout. Made the home turn awkwardly. KESSEL RUN – B Stewart was granted permission to ride KESSEL RUN 1/2kg over its allocated weight due to Covid 19 restrictions. Blundered at the start resulting in rider B Stewart becoming awkward in the saddle. DYNAMIC JEWEL – As T Brooker was to be overweight, Stewards permitted S Galloway to ride the filly. T Brooker was reprimanded pursuant to AR190(4). S Galloway was granted permission to ride KESSEL RUN 1/2kg over its allocated weight due to Covid 19 restrictions. EMMY REGINA – Raced four wide throughout. WATACHOICE – Raced three wide throughout. Following the running of this race Stewards expressed concerns regarding visibility during the running of the race due to kickback. Stewards, after discussions with all riders and noting comments from senior riders who competed in the event, subsequently called the remainder of the meeting off at 12:34pm due to poor visibility which posed an unacceptable risk to riders.
