Race 1: IEEC.COM.AU Class 4 Plate 1200 metres
 
KING'S RULE – Bumped with REBEL SALUTE on jumping. Passing the 150 metres laid out under pressure.
 
NORDICUS – Passing the 150 metres rolled in under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the second time and as such trainer B Baldwin was advised NORDICUS will now incur a life-time ban from racing under AR79(6).
 
UNCONDITIONAL – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
REBEL SALUTE – Bumped with KING’S RULE on jumping.
 
BEFANA – Held up on the heels of NORDICUS passing the 500 metres and then near the 200 metres disappointed for a run between KING’S RULE and NORDICUS before shifting wider on the track passing the 100 metres to obtain clear running.
 
Race 2: SIRROMET Maiden Plate 1680 metres
 
CHIANTARI – Had some difficulty securing clear running in the home straight.
 
ESPANYOL – Bumped on jumping. Passing the 1300 metres over-raced and refused to settle and shortly after contacted the heels of SAN BERNADINO and blundered. Near the 1200 metres buffeted between TELFORD and FLETCHER’S MUTINY. Continued to over-race and raced three wide for the remainder of the event.
 
FLETCHER'S MUTINY (NZ) – When the pace eased approaching the 1200 metres checked from the heels of GOLDEN WHITT, and shifted out. Bumped on the hindquarters near the 300 metres. Rider A Allen reported he was concerned with the action of FLETCHER’S MUTINY on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
GOLDEN WHITT – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
LITTLE BROWNIE – Slow to begin.
 
SAN BERNARDINO – As the gelding competed at Eagle Farm on Wednesday 4th August, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
SPIRITUAL – Slow to begin.
 
TELFORD – Near the 1200 metres bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced before its rider elected to stride forward and lead the event from the 850 metres. C Eaton dropped her whip near the 150 metres.
 
 
Race 3: RIVER 949FM Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
 
CANNY CAT – Near the 800 metres had to be steadied from the heels of EASY ROCKER. Held up approaching the home turn before shifting very wide on the track to obtain clear running. Laid in under pressure near the 150 metres.
 
CASH ON FIRE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after bumping its nearside hindquarters leaving the stabling area and was cleared to start. Very fractious after being loaded into the barriers, dropped its head as the start was effected, began very awkwardly resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced and losing significant ground. Trainer G Heinrich was advised CASH ON FIRE must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start.   
 
EATEN A WIRE – Near the 800 metres when the pace steadied had to be steadied from the heels of BRILLIANTLY before shifting wider on the track.
 
TWILIGHT PHENOMENA – Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight and near the 250 metres had to steadied from the heels of BRILLIANTLY which rolled in momentarily.
 
LET'S BOOM – Near the 700 metres shifted out and bumped MATILDA GENE. Pulled hard for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride.  
 
MATILDA GENE – Bumped near the 700 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MENSA MAESTRO – Rider M McGillivray reported it was not his intention to lead, however after beginning well and being caught wide he elected to allow his mount to stride forward due to the slow early pace and race outside the leader from the 700 metres. Rider M McGillivray was reminded of his obligations in regard to reducing the pace of the race when racing in the position outside the leader.
 
EASY ROCKER – Rider K Cowan was reminded of her obligations in regard to reducing the pace of the race when leading the event.
 
Race 4: CHANNEL SEVEN BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 2170 metres
 
HEAD UP HIGH – Made the 1500 metres crossing awkwardly. When asked to comment rider B Nothdurft explained he was issued no specific instructions and that after beginning well and showing early speed he elected to allow HEAD UP HIGH to press forward and lead the event.
 
HE'S THE DEEL – Raced keenly near the 1600 metres.
 
POWERS LOOKOUT – Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
SLAUGHTER BAY – When asked to comment on tactics adopted in the middle stages apprentice M Castle stated instructions were to allow the gelding to settle in a forward position and if the opportunity presented to improve and possibly lead the event if circumstances permit. Apprentice Castle added near the 1300 metres she shifted wider on the track when the pace eased in an attempt to improve however was caught racing three wide for the remainder of the event.  
 
ASTRAL KNIGHT – Slow to begin. Over-raced near the 1600 metres. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: TAB Class 2 Handicap 1350 metres
 
LINCOLN TOWN (NZ) – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
SEA ECHO – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
VIVID FORTRESS – Slow to begin and a short distance later crowded between runners. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LESHRAC – Bumped heavily on jumping and lost ground.
 
GREYT INTENTIONS – Jumped in at the start and bumped LESHRAC.
 
RESETTING EDGE – When asked to comment rider M Castle explained after beginning well and being caught wide she elected to allow the gelding to stride forward and lead the event from the 800 metres.
 
MYSTIC BROOK – Change of tactics - ridden with cover circumstances permitting. After beginning well and from the wide draw was caught racing three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 6: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap
 
DREAM SONG – Bumped near 1100 when HEAVENLY ARCHER shifted out momentarily.
 
DUBLE GAZE – Slow to begin.
 
IN AGREEMENT – Slow to begin.
 
CITRUS BURST (NZ) – Slow to begin.
