GENERAL
 
Due to Covid restrictions Stewards permitted the following Jockeys to ride overweight.
 
Race 7 – M Hellyer 54.5kg (READILY REWARDED)
Race 9 -  M Hellyer 54.5kg (LUANA)
 
 
Race 1: BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Maiden Plate 2180 metres
 
Club Double – Raced wide throughout. Tactics queried. Jockey Caserta stated that after being caught three wide early he attempted to improve to the position outside the leader but was unable to do so. Jockey Caserta further stated he then attempted to restrain and take cover behind TEPPANYAKI however was forced to remain three wide when SPIRITUAL improved to his inside.
 
Sir Gunsen – Trainer C Zintillis was questioned regarding an improved performance. Mr Zintillis stated that he had only recently purchased the gelding from interstate and expected an improved performance as it had performed poorly on recent rain affected tracks. Mr Zintillis added that SIR GUNSEN had trialed well at Doomben recently and expected a forward showing in easier company. Mr Zintillis was advised that SIR GUNSEN would be held back 3 hours for a post-race blood sample.
 
Teppanyaki (NZ) – Trainer advised that the gelding would be ridden further forward. Ridden accordingly. Under pressure from the 400m and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer D VanDyke advised stewards that after today’s disappointing performance that the gelding would be leaving his stable.
 
Big Hitter – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Moonwinkle (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after contacting a post exiting the mounting yard and cleared to start. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer S Parsons was advised that the mare would be barred from Tab venues until such time its form improves to a suitable standard.
 
The Red Dancer – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being kicked behind the barriers and declared a late scratching at 11.34 on veterinary advice.

Race 2:  IPSWICH EVENTS & ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE QTIS Three-Year-Old Class 1 Hand 1690 metres
 
Copperchino – After being caught early in the early stages, its rider then attempted to ride forward and when unable to do so was forced to race raced three wide with no cover for the remainder.
 
Tokyo Friends – Slow to begin
 
Door Into Summer – Jockey K Yoshida reported that the filly laid out throughout, in particular over the final 400m which placed him at a disadvantage
 
Eye Of Ra – Slow to begin. Over raced early.
 
 
Race 3: VALE DOUG GRAHAM QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 800 metres
 
He’s A Devil – Slow to begin.
 
Jay Peak Kitten – Raced in restricted room near the 500m and steadied.
 
Statutes – Raced wide throughout.
 
The Rattlesnake – Over raced in the middle stages.
 
Luna Glide – Near the 400m obliged to steady from the heels of JAY PEAK KITTEN.
 
Matale – Caught very wide early before its rider elected to restrain to the rear. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
Power Sister – Raced wide throughout.
 
Sutto's Gal – Slow to begin, tightened and lost ground. Near the 500m steadied when placed in restricted room when POWER SISTER shifted in and HE’S A Devil shifted out.
 
 
Race 4: TAB BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 800 metres
 
 
Real Cute – Slow to begin.
 
Oakfield Comanche – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout
 
Flying Machine – Slow to begin.
 
Beating Drum – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 5: ASSURE GLOBAL PLUS Class 3 Plate 1350 metres
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards reviewed the film to ascertain if MOONAN ME was afforded a fair start. Once reviewed stewards declared correct weight.
 
Moonan Me – Began very awkwardly causing its rider to become unbalanced, lost the use of his near side iron for a short distance and then lost significant ground. Trainer B Smith was advised that a warning would be placed on MOONAN ME regarding its manners. Near the 500m shifted out to improve and was held up for a short distance. Cast its near hind plate in running.
 
Rabbit Clause – Began awkwardly.
 
East Esplanade – Raced three wide throughout.
 
Rock Me Hussey – Near the 500m raced in restricted room to the inside of EAST ESPLANADE and MOONAN ME which shifted out to improve.
 
Race 6: PENDER ACCOUNTING GROUP Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
 
Frazzled – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
Midorio – Checked on jumping and lost ground.
 
Plan Cee – Shifted out on jumping.
 
Decade – Forced inwards near the 1000m
 
Sennachie – Near the 1000m tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Jockey Jackson Murphy rider of SCENIC RIM was found guilty of a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 1000m he allowed his mount to shift in tightening DECADE which in turn was forced inwards onto the rightful running of SENNACHIE causing both SENNACHIE and NORTH ROCKS to be checked and lose their rightful positions. Jackson Murphy’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 22/8/21 and expire midnight 2/9/21. Mr Murphy was advised of his appeal rights.
 
Tango Tino – Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Near the 1000m steadied from the heels of KUNGFLU which shifted in. Stewards in the presence of Stable representative Mrs Laming question Jockey M Cahill regarding tactics and performance of TANGO TINO. Jockey Cahill stated that whilst no specific instructions were issued by Mr Laming he expected the mare to begin well and race forward however he explained that after receiving a bump from his inside at the start he was disadvantaged and elected to ride the mare with cover. Jockey Cahill advised stewards that in his opinion TANGO TINO may have resented the addition of the cross over nose band for today’s race as in his opinion the mare was reluctant to stretch out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards noted the explanation tendered by Jockey Cahill and advised Mrs Laming to speak to Trainer B Laming and request that he report back to Stewards anything which may have effected todays performance. TANGO TINO was sent to be swabbed.
 
North Rocks – Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 300m until leaving the 200m. Near the 1000m tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Jockey R Fradd reported that in his opinion NORTH ROCKS would be best suited to racing over distances further than today’s event

Scottish Prince – Raced three wide throughout.
 
From The Gong – Raced three wide throughout.
 
Race 7: SOLAR SONIC SOLUTIONS Class 1 Handicap 1690 metres
 
Shotgun Bobby – Slow to begin. Near the 1100m steadied from the heels A BIG CHANCE which shifted in. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
Found The Mark – Over raced for a short distance passing the 1200m when the pace slackened.
 
Wealth'n'Power – Hung out for the majority. Made the home turn wide. Trainer M Frappell was advised that a warning would be placed on his runner for hanging.
 
Readily Rewarded – Slow to begin. Pulled hard early. Near the 600m steadied from the heels of IRISH ACE.
 
Shezabeans – Over raced, laid out and raced wide.
 
Statement Of Faith – Slow to begin. Over raced.
 
 
Race 8: CRIME STOPPERS BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1100 metres
 
Manias – Slow to begin. Raced keenly early.

Aluf – Slow to begin. Over raced early. Raced three wide throughout. Forced wider near the home turn when FISH ON shifted out to improve.
 
Go Deep – Slow to begin.
 
Family Star – Contacted the rail for some distance near the 800m. Raced keenly early.
 
French Ocean – Raced wide. Forced wider near the home turn when FISH ON shifted out to improve.
 
Race 9: TRENT WINKS MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Applecross – Slow to begin. When asked to comment regarding the gelding’s performance Jockey B Nothdurft stated that after beginning poorly he was forced to settle further back than anticipated, however was satisfied with the horses finishing effort as it was doing its best work over the concluding stages. Jockey B Nothdurft further added that in his opinion APPLECROSS would appreciate distances further than today’s event.
 
River Rocket – Raced three wide throughout.
 
While We Can – Slow to begin.
 
Nine Cigars – Over raced early. Jockey M Potgeiter reported that the gelding did not finish off today’s event and proved disappointing.
 
Luvaction – Hung out rounding the home turn when weakening.
 
Mount Padrao – Raced three wide throughout. Near the 700m steadied from the heels of ONE POINT FIVE and continued to over race until leaving the 600m.
 
One Point Five – Over raced early. Steadied from heels near the 800m and obliged to shift out and raced wide for the remainder.
 
Touch Of Bali – Slow to begin.
 
Menindee – Raced wide throughout.
 
Luana – Slow to begin.
