Overraced in the early stages. ASCOT EXPRESS (NZ) – Overraced in the early stages. Had difficulty obtaining a clear run from rounding the home turn to the early part of the straight. Put in an awkward stride near the 300m. Inclined to lay in over the final 200m. NIC ME SOME – Began awkwardly shifting in contacting POWER SISTER. Leaving the 600m steadied after improving onto the heels of ASCOT EXPRESS (NZ). RED DRESS – Began awkwardly shifting out contacting A LITTLE WHITTY. Rider R Fradd reported that his mount overraced. A LITTLE WHITTY – Bumped on jumping. MORETON BAY – When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice K Wilson-Taylor stated that his mount raced greenly and failed to respond when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. COOKIES ‘N’ CREAM – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the barriers and cleared to start. Slow to begin. POWER SISTER – Checked when tightened on jumping.Race 2: CONGRATS TEAM SEARS PREMIERSHIP TRAINERS MDN HCP – 1100M MAJOR NIC – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination when blood was noticed in its mouth and subsequently was cleared to start. INTERCAPITALEXPRESS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small cut to left side of its mouth. Trainer R Mollica was advised that the nominations of INTERCAPITALEXPRESS at TAB venues would now be refused until the gelding displays consistent form at the NON-TAB venues. HIGHLAND EAGLE – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey M Du Plessis stated his mount raced greenly throughout. Trainer D Forster could offer no explanation for the performance however stated that the gelding would take benefit from the run and would likely be sent for a spell. She further stated that she would undertake to report back on the gelding in the days subsequent. PRINCE SHUVEE – Began awkwardly. CROSBY ROAD – Began awkwardly shifting in. STYLISH HABIT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after slipping when leaving the mounting yard and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. ALLELUIA – Began awkwardly. Inconvenienced in the early part of the straight after improving onto the heels of the weakening INTERCAPITALEXPRESS. Race 3: BEERS BUBBLES BRUNCH 19 SEPT BM68 HCP – 800M FOR MY ANNIE – Reared on jumping losing significant ground and almost dislodging apprentice A Jones. Ran off badly rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. ORSETTO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after lunging at the gates and was subsequently cleared to start. THE DARLING – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the presence of blood in its mouth. DREAMALINA – Knuckled on jumping. Taken in and had to be checked approaching the 150m when FOR MY ANNIE (App A Jones) shifted in under riding. At a subsequent inquiry Apprentice A Jones pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding and her license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence at midnight 28th August 2021 and to expire on 5th September 2021. Race 4: CONGRATS JAMES ORMAN PREMIERSHIP JOCKEY RATINGS 0-58 HCP – 2210M SIR GUNSEN – Shortly after approaching the winning post on the first occasion, was bumped heavily on several occasions and became unbalanced for a number of strides when TYCOON PLAYER (App M Savva) attempted to shift wider when there was insufficient room. When questioned regarding the performance R Stewart stated that after receiving interference in the early stages, SIR GUNSEN wasn’t able to attain an uncontested lead as he was able to at his previous start and was disappointing in its finishing efforts. Trainer C Zintilis concurred with jockey R Stewarts’ comments and undertook to report back on the condition of SIR GUNSEN in the days subsequent. SEARING SPEED – Slow to begin. DECOR DEELS – Began awkwardly. ASTRAL KNIGHT – Slow to begin. Held up momentarily rounding the home turn. RECALL EVENTS – Approaching the 400m had to be steadied when tightened between RICHEST and CRAIGLEA CLINKERS (A Jones) which shifted out to improve. Apprentice A Jones was advised to exercise more care when her mounts are shifting ground. WINDUPGIRL – Raced wide throughout. TYCOON PLAYER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. At a subsequent inquiry, Apprentice M Savva rider of TYCOON PLAYER pleaded guilty pursuant to a charge under AR131(a) in that approaching the finish line on the first occasion, when attempting to shift out bumped with SIR GUNSEN when there was insufficient room to do so, resulting in SIR GUNSEN becoming unbalanced and apprentice M Savva being awkwardly placed on the heels of CRAIGLEA CLINKERS. Shortly thereafter approaching the 1700m, Apprentice Savva directed, rather than restrain TYCOON PLAYER to the inside of CRAIGLEA CLINKERS where there was insufficient room to safely do so and again being awkwardly placed on heels. Apprentice Savva’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 16 days to commence midnight 28th August 2021 and expire on midnight 13th September 2021. Race 5: BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT C1 HCP – 1350M The start of this race was delayed approximately 2 minutes when JENO forced the gates open and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which cleared the gelding to start. The race was delayed a further 3 minutes when OUTBACK GLADIATOR became fractious in the barriers and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which cleared the gelding to start. DAULAT MACHTIGAMOR who was in the adjacent stall to OUTBACK GLADIATOR also underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. WHEELS (NZ) – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn. OUTBACK GLADIATOR – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and had to be steadied from the heels of STEP ASIDE shortly after entering the home straight. Held up over the concluding stages and was unable to be tested. STEP ASIDE – Near the 800m had to be checked and lost ground when tightened by GALA RAIN which shifted in and away from PURPLE DIAMOND who was shifting in. GALA RAIN – Taken in and had to be steadied near the 800m. SIZZLING DIAMOND – Slow to begin. Race 6: CONGRATS KYLE WILSON-TAYLOR PREMIERSHIP APPRENTICE C1 HCP – 1350M JET ESPRIT – Steadied when rounding the home turn when DRY TIMES shifted out to improve. SCOTTISH PRINCE – Shifted out on jumping bumping FLYING KASS. Raced wide for the majority and near the 800m was steadied from the heels of JET ESPRIT.SIENNA’S CHOICE – Bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced shortly after jumping. CARTIAIR – After being caught wide early, jockey M McGillivray elected to push forward to obtain a position outside the leader near the 800m. DAYTONA DANICA – Raced three wide for the majority. I AM CLEVER – Crowded on jumping and lost ground. FLYING KASS – Crowded on jumping. Race 7: RENEW ITC MEMBERSHIP C3 HCP – 1710M HOSTAGE OF WAR – Held up rounding the home turn and was continued to be held up from a point passing the 150m. MOTAMAYIZ (GB) – Change of tactics – To be ridden more conservatively – Settled back. DONANDKIM – Change of tactics – To be ridden more forward in a midfield position – Settled back. DELAYED LAUNCH (NZ) – Steadied approaching the 100m when HOSTAGE OF WAR shifted out to improve. PHANTOM COURT – When questioned regarding the performance, Apprentice L Kilner stated that her mount refused to settle throughout the event which had a detrimental effect on the mares chances. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. THE BIG EATER – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn. ANIMAL INSTINCT – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. SWING SHIFT – Slow to begin. Race 8: IPSWICH EVENTS & ENTERTAINMENT C1 HCP – 1100M SCHWEID AS – Tightened near the 800m when SHOOTING ROSES (NZ) (App M Potgieter) shifted in under pressure. Apprentice Potgieter was reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Rider J Orman could offer no explanation for the performance and stated he was overall disappointed with the effort. VOODOO CROWN – Raced wide throughout. KIKI COCO – Raced wide throughout. POSITIVE TENSION – Reared as the start was affected and lost ground. RIP CITY – Held up rounding the home turn before shifting wider. Disappointed for a run between POSITIVE TENSION and MINT STRIP near the 200m before shifting nearer the rails to secure clear running. KATANAROCK – Rider B Ainsworth plead guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permitted under the rule and was fined $300.
