SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Sunshine Coast 12 December
 
Race 5: CAMERLENGO – Trainer G Heinrich reported to stewards that subsequent to this start, blood samples had been taken from the gelding and testing had revealed the signs of a low-grade infection.
 
GENERAL
 
As N Callow was indisposed due to personal reasons rider changes were approved as per the Stewards Summary.
 
Race 5
Stewards granted permission for M Hellyer to ride PRESSING MATTERS +1kg.
 
Race 1: 1 FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB Maiden Plate 1700 metres
 
ASHER – Change of tactics, to be ridden in a more forward position. Slow to begin before being ridden forward to assume the lead passing the 1200m.
 
SPIRITUAL – Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 800m.
 
KOPANGI (NZ) – Bumped near the 250m when TUSCAN BELLE shifted out.
 
SO YOU KNEW – Steadied from the heels of KOPANGI near the 100m when inclined to lay in.
 
FROM THE GONG – Wide throughout.
 
TUSCAN BELLE – Over-raced during the middle stages. Raced greenly during the early stages of the home straight.
 
BROOKLYN MAM – Rider reported that the filly was inclined to lay in under pressure. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 2: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
IN CLOSE REACH – Began awkwardly and bucked shortly after the start, dislodging J Morris. Jockey Morris was examined by the Queensland Ambulance Service and cleared of any apparent injuries. Trainer J Walk was advised that the horse must officially trial prior to racing again.
 
DUTCH GOLD – Reared as the start was affected.
 
JUNGLELAND – Heavily bumped and checked on jumping. Checked to avoid the riderless IN CLOSE REACH near the 1200m.
 
CALLYWAG – Bumped and checked on jumping.
 
MY SWEET HONEY – Slow to begin.
 
IXELLES – Steadied to avoid the rider less IN CLOSE REACH near the 900m
 
OBER PURKLA – Late scratching on vets advise at 1:57pm after becoming fractious in the race-day stalls. Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on OBER PURKLA be refunded and the following deductions to apply on all bets.

Race 3: SIRROMET Class 2 Plate 1100 metres
 
ALLEZ ZOU (NZ) – Tightened on jumping and lost ground.
 
FREDERICK THE DANE – Laid out under pressure in the home straight and a warning was placing on the horses racing manners.
 
SO CLEVER – Checked when tightened for room on jumping. Raced wide throughout and made the home turn awkwardly. Rider M Potgieter reported that his mount did not travel comfortable throughout the event. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer J Moore was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to racing again.
 
WHITTINGTON WAYS – Obliged to steady from heels near the 200m.
 
QUATUM – Over-raced at heels near the 800m. Raced wide throughout and made the home turn awkwardly.
 
SNAZZ 'N' CHARM – Began awkwardly. Held up from rounding the home turn until approaching the 100m.

VAST KAMA – Began very awkwardly almost dislodging its rider. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1200 metres
 
JINX 'N' DRINX – Began awkwardly.
 
PAREDO – Rider B Thompson reported that after travelling comfortably throughout the mare failed to respond to his riding in the home straight and proved disappointing.
 
JAYDEE INDY – Began awkwardly.
 
THE LIONESS – Began awkwardly.  Raced wide throughout.
 
HARLEQUIN FIELD – Bumped on jumping.
 
DERANI – Began awkwardly. Post-race vet examination revealed the horse to have lost the near hind shoe and also to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer K Fogden was advised to provide a vet certificate prior to the gelding starting again.
 
BETTER GET READY – Began awkwardly before being checked when tightened for room. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities, stable representative M Sharpe advised stewards that the stable will report any abnormalities with the gelding in the coming days.
 
ELVEENA – Tightened for room and had to be checked at the start.
 
Race 5: TAB BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 2200 metres
 
Prior to the running of this event the track rating was upgraded to Good 3.
 
CLASS OF ROYALTY – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide during the early stages before being ridden forward to assume a position outside the lead passing the 900m.
 
THE MINIVAN – Over-raced during the early stages before shifting wider to improve from the 800m. Inconvenienced and forced wider near the 550m.
 
KHAALIS (IRE) – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn until passing the 200m.
 
LINCOLN TOWN (NZ) – Hung out throughout.
 
COLLECTION POINT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Steadied to avoid the heels of LADY SOLERNO when passing the 2000m. M Potgieter, the rider of LADY SOLERNO, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
LADY SOLERNO – Improved onto heels when rounding the home turn and held up for clear running until the early stages of the home straight.
 
CHIEF COMMAND – Improved onto heels near the 800m and checked. Lost the off fore plate in running. Rider A Spinks reported that in his opinion his mount did not appreciate today’s firm racing surface.
 
RAHAAN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Forced wider and bumped with PRESSING MATTERS when rounding the home turn.
 
PRESSING MATTERS – Slow to begin. Bumped on the hindquarters when rounding the home turn.
 
Race 6: SEVEN Class 3 Handicap 1700 metres
 
VENDIDIT – Steadied when obliged to race in restricted room near the 1100m.
 
IMPAVIDO – Significantly slow to begin.
 
BOLD EXECUTIVE – Slow to begin.
 
SO YOU'RE MAGIC – Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn until passing the 200m.
 
ROKE – M Hellyer reported that his mount hung out from the 500m.
 
IN AGREEMENT – Laid out over the concluding stages.
 
HELMET HEAD – Over-raced during the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn.
 
BONDURANT – Over-raced passing the 1200m and shifted wider on the track. Continued to over-race during the middle stages, J Byrne advised stewards that in his opinion this had a detrimental effect on the horses performance.
 
NORTHERN WOODS (NZ) – Forced wider for a short distance near the 1200m.
 
 
Race 7: RIVER 94.9FM Class 5 Plate 1350 metres
 
ENTERPRISE PRINCE – Began awkwardly.
 
FISTICUFFS – Struck in the head by a plate near the 1000m, which caused a minor laceration to the offside ear, in this incident rider T Brooker was also struck in the right shoulder.
 
PRINNY'S SUCCESS – Stood flat footed as the start was affected and lost significant ground. Connections were advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to the gelding starting again.
 
SEE MARIE – Lost both hind plates in running.
 
 
Race 8: THE BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Class 1 Handicap 1350 metres
 
PRIVATE CHEETAH – Steadied from heels near the 200m.
 
HOT ESCORT – Over-raced during the early and middle stages. Rider B Thompson reported that after over-racing his mount failed to respond to his riding over the concluding stages and may not have appreciated the firm racing surface.
 
FLYBRIDGE – Shifted wider near the 700m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
JOLVAD – Began awkwardly.
 
CAPRI OF TUFFY – Raced wide without cover.
 
SPIRIT'S CHARM – Raced wide throughout.
 
CELTIC PRINCESS – Steadied from heels near the 100m.
 
BELLA BEE (NZ) – When over-racing near the 800m shifted out and was steadied from heels.
