SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Toowoomba Saturday 5/3/22
SELF INDULGENT – An endoscopic examination was performed on return to stables and a small amount of mucus was found in the horses airway. Will now be spelled.
BIG BAD BRUCE - Sustained a minor fetlock injury with some filling in the joint on Sunday morning which had subsided 24hours later. Given the gelding was 1st up on Saturday the intention is to continue with this preparation once the stable is satisfied the issue has fully resolved.

Race 9: Stewards today concluded an adjourned inquiry from this meeting, which related to interference suffered by LORD MARKEL. Jockey Brad Stewart, the rider of GAVE US UP, was found guilty of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 1200m he directed GAVE US UP inwards when not clear of LORD MARKEL, tightening the running of that horse and causing it to be steadied and furthermore that when leaving the 1100m he allowed GAVE US UP to again shift in across the running of LORD MARKEL causing that horse again to be restrained and lose its rightful running. Jockey B Stewart’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 14 days to commence midnight 18/3/2022 and to conclude midnight 1/4/2022.

Race 1: SEVEN BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 2150 metres
 
Call Me Legend – Laid in under pressure near the 100m.
 
Ostermeier – Laid in under pressure near the 100m.
 
Rules Don't Apply – L Cassidy reported that his mount was inclined to lay in throughout the event.
 
Likeabeel – As S Fawke was to be overweight he was replaced by K Zechner. S Fawke was subsequently fined the sum of $200 under AR 190(3)
 
Race 2: FAMILY RACES 19 MARCH Maiden Plate 1500 metres
 
Hello Handsome (NZ) – Inconvenienced near the 1400m. Held up for clear running from the 600m until the 400m.
 
Magic Boom – Slow to begin. Forced wider near the 1400m when VAIN LUKE shifted out abruptly. Steadied near the 1300m to avoid the riderless SACRED OATH.
 
Riverside Theatre – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
Vain Luke – Slow to begin. Shifted out abruptly near the 1400m to avoid the fallen rider and was inconvenience for some distance by the riderless SACRED OATH and raced wide for the majority.
 
Sacred Oath (NZ) – Rider R Maloney was dislodged when SACRED OATH was severely checked and made heavy contact with the running rail near the 1400m. After completing the event riderless SACRED OATH was captured near the 1600m. Post race vet examination revealed no abnormalities or injuries to SACRED OATH. Rider R Maloney was examined by QAS and cleared of any significant injuries, however he was subsequently stood-down by stewards pending a medical clearance and a satisfactory cognitive function test. As jockey R Maloney was not considered medically fit to give evidence, an inquiry into this incident was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed.
 
Carlie Eksplodes – After passing the winning post rider K ZECHNER was dislodged, however landed on his feet, after the filly shied from another runner.
 
Race 3: RAY WHITE IPSWICH QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
 
Hobsy – Hampered on jumping. Over-raced during the early stages. Shifted out abruptly near the 100m.
 
Jamaican Rumba – Began very awkwardly and heavily bumped CLASSIQUE GAL. Shifted out significantly under pressure in the home straight and was unable to fully tested. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horses racing manners. Post race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Nippa's Nightcap – Slow to begin.
 
Classique Gal – Heavily bumped on jumping. Severely hampered in the home straight and forced wider near the 100m.
 
Fidler On The Roof – Raced wide throughout. Hung out from the 500m until entering the home straight. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the fillies racing manners.
 
Montana Lady – Raced wide throughout.
 
Olympic Motto – Began awkwardly, lost ground and was hampered shortly afterwards.
 
On The Target – Over-raced during the early stages.
 
Race 4: TAB QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
Beans Means – Slow to begin.
 
No Going Back – Raced greenly throughout. Wide the majority.
 
Race 5: RIVER 949FM Class 2 Plate 1100 metres
 
Bakuhatsu – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 6: SIRROMET BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1000 metres
 
High Cost – After winning a race at the Sunshine Coast 6/3/2022 this gelding was allocated a 2kg penalty. Raced wide throughout.
 
Mort Doyle – Held up for clear running from the 600m until approaching the 200m.
 
Splasher – Raced wide throughout.
 
Orsetto – Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 800m and again over the concluding stages.
 
Race 7: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1500 metres
 
Texas Storm – Over-raced during the middle stages. Shifted out to improve from the 700m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
Predictable Miss (NZ) – Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey A Mallyon reported that after travelling well in the event the mare proved disappointing over the concluding stages, however he could offer no explanation for the performance. Post race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
