GENERAL



Stewards approved the following weight variations:

Race 3: BEATING DRUM – M Potgieter 55kg (+1kg)

Race 5: CONGENIAL MISS - M Potgieter 55kg (+1kg)

Race 8: RED ZORRO – B Thornton 56.5kg (+0.5kg)

Race 8: RAGLAN - M Potgieter 55kg (+1kg)



Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB Maiden Plate 1666 metres



KOWLOON GEM – Bumped shortly after the start. Forced wider on the track near the 1200m. Raced wide for the remainder of the event. Bumped by BAY STREET near the 50m.



MA DUSHKA – Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1200m.



SHOPPING WISE – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover from the 900m. laid in under pressure in the home straight.



BAY STREET – Improved onto the heels of MA DUSHKA near the 1200m and shifted out. Near the 50m shifted out and bumped KOWLOON GEM.



DUYFKEN – On arrival at the barriers the tongue tie on the horse was refitted. Began awkwardly.



BLAZING FAIRY – Bumped shortly after the start.







Race 2: FAMILY RACES THIS SATURDAY Class 2 Plate 1666 metres



TAKUNAI – Raced three wide in the early stages.



EVITA LA VIE – Jumped out at the start and bumped LUNAR LUSTRE.



MINJEE – Slow to begin. When over-racing steadied from heels near the 1400m.



SPIRIT'S CHARM – Momentarily steadied from the heels of TAKANUI near the 1550m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.



CASHOFFA – Slow to begin.



LUNAR LUSTRE – Bumped at the start.





Race 3: TAB VENUE MODE Class 3 Plate 800 metres



CARLIN TREND – As had not started for an extended period of time underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Slow to begin.



MISS BARTY – Began awkwardly.



RUBYEXPRESS – The start was delayed approximately 2 minutes when the horse proved difficult to load. Trainer G Cornish was advised RUBYEXPRESS must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start. Raced wide throughout.



COCO DIABLO (NZ) – Jumped out at the start. Raced wide throughout.



COOL INTELLIGENCE – At the request of Trainer B Robinson underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the track after sustaining a minor laceration to the near hind leg and was cleared to start. Slow to begin.



YES YUP YAY – Raced wide throughout.



BEATING DRUM – Checked at the start when COCO DIABLO jumped out.





Race 4: SIRROMET Maiden Handicap 1350 metres



LYRICAL LOVER – Slow to begin.



BASIL JUNIOR – Heavily bumped on jumping. Near the 900m bumped by ZIPJAK which shifted in momentarily.



ZIPJAK – Momentarily shifted in near the 900m and bumped with BASIL JUNIOR. Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.



WILSON WON – Jumped out at the start. Rider c Robertson reported the horse felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed blood in the nearside nostril. Trainer J Williams was advised WILSON WON must gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to its next race start pursuant to AR79(8).



FIDE ET AMORE – Crowded on jumping. Improved onto heels approaching the 100m and was steadied.



KING HAMMURABI – Raced wide in the early stages. When asked to comment on tactics adopted rider M Potgieter explained intentions were not to lead, however with the moderate early tempo and after beginning well and with blinkers applied for the first time, the horse raced keenly in the early stages, he therefore elected to allow the horse to stride forward and lead from the 800m. Trainer J Edwards



CAPITAL EYES – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced and had to be steadied near the 700m.



ZOUESAY – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.



HALLSIDE WILDTHING – Near the 300m obliged to alter course inwards after being disappointed for a run.



CYCLONE BLACKIE – Jumped in at the start and bumped heavily with BASIL JUNIOR.



THAT'S A MIRACLE – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.





Race 5: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1666 metres



AGENT OF MAYHEM – Began awkwardly. Crowded near the 800m. Laid in under pressure near the 150m. D McGillivray, rider of AGENT OF MAYHEM, was advised to exercise greater care.



KINGS ROW – Near 1200m improved onto heels, was steadied, and shifted wider on the track. Near the 800m when over-racing, improved to the inside of BOULT, shifted in crowding AGENT OF MAYHEM which in turn was taken in resulting in SILVERBROOK LAD being hampered and losing ground. ALLUDERE, which was following, was inconvenienced in this incident.



EL CHAPARRO – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped LITTLE JERRY.



ALLUDERE – Slow to begin. Near 1200m improved onto heels, was steadied, and shifted wider on the track. Inconvenienced near the 800m. Disappointed for a run near the 100m and went to the line without being fully tested by its rider.



BARTALUMBA – Laid out rounding the home turn.



SILVERBROOK LAD – Hampered near the 800m and lost ground when AGENT OF MAYHEM was taken in by KINGS ROW which had improved to the inside BOULT which rolled in slightly.



BOULT – After casting the offside plate and it being unable to be refitted, permission was given for the near hind plate to be removed and the horse to race bare behind. Raced wide in the early stages. Crowded for room approaching the home turn when BARTALUMBA laid out and KINGS ROW rolled in momentarily. Near the 150m placed in restricted room when AGENT OF MAYHEM shifted in under pressure. D McGillivray, rider of AGENT OF MAYHEM, was advised to exercise greater care.



RED VEGAS – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.





Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN Class 5 Handicap 1200 metres





AVOWAL – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.



MOUNTBATTEN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up approaching the home turn.



SOUBRETTE – Jumped in at the start. Over-raced in the early stages of the event.



NORM'S CHOICE – Bumped at the start when SOUBRETTE jumped in. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.



Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3.



Race 7: THE BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Fillies and Mares RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Hdcp 1350 metres



BEACH CLUB – Raced three wide with cover.



BIZOU – Checked near the 1200m. Z Lloyd, rider of TOGZ, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) in that near the 1200m when attempting to obtain a position nearer the rail he was careless in that he shifted in when insufficiently clear of DAYTONA DANICA (App A Jones) which was taken onto REDENZO GAL (K Zechner) which was forced inwards onto BIZOU (S Thornton) which had to be checked from the heels of ME MUMS FOXY. The licence of Z Lloyd to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 20th March up to and including 1st April 2022.



BIZOU - Checked again near the 1000m. Z Lloyd, rider of TOGZ, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) in that near the 1000m he was careless in that he made insufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in when insufficiently clear of DAYTONA DANICA (App A Jones) which was taken onto REDENZO GAL (K Zechner) which was forced inwards onto BIZOU (S Thornton) which had to be checked from the heels of LADY RINGO. The licence of Z Lloyd to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 20th March up to and including 1st April 2022. Stewards determined that both suspensions be served concurrently.



REDENZO GAL – Forced in and hampered near the 1200m. Taken in and inconvenienced near the 1000m.



DAYTONA DANICA – Crowded and taken in near the 1200m. Inconvenienced when taken in near the 1000m.



CONCEALED DYNAMITE – After working strongly to the barriers underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.



TOGZ – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.



LADY RINGO – Slow to begin.





Race 8: EVENTS @ IEEC.COM.AU Colts, Geldings and Entires RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Hdcp 1350 metres



HIGHER LOVE dislodged the nearside concussion plate proceeding to the barriers. The plate was located and refitted prior to the horse being loaded into the barriers, before undergoing a veterinary examination and being cleared to start. As a result of this delay, the race started approximately 5 minutes late.



HIGHER LOVE – Began awkwardly.



MR STORM (NZ) – Rider reported the horse was inclined to lay out throughout the event.



GENERAL WOLFFE – Over-raced in the middle stages. Rider R Fradd reported the horse did not appreciate today’s firm track conditions.



MASTER BAYLEE – From a wide barrier was restrained at the start to a rearward position closer to the rails.



FIGHTING MAD – Restrained from heels near the 800m and was shifted wider on the track. Held up for clear running over the final 200m and went to the line without being fully tested by its rider.



LESMURDIE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Inclined to lay out approaching and rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.



STATIC LIFT – Raced wide for the majority of the event.



RAGLAN – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
