MAN IN MOTION – Laid in rounding the home turn. DEVIL'S RITE – Slow to begin. When laying in approaching the home turn, was bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced. When asked regarding the performance of DEVIL’S RITE App Jones stated after being slow to begin the gelding failed to muster early speed and Miss Jones added that it did not appreciate today’s track conditions and felt that it would be better suited over a step up in distance. Comments noted. BETTER RUSH – Began awkwardly. SHEEZASINGA – Bumped on jumping. Improved onto heels approaching the line and was steadied. Race 2: PETER SIMPSON MELANOMA MEMORIAL Maiden Plate 1350 metres DINKLAGE – Slow away. I PONDER – Began awkwardly. JOHNNY THUNDER – Over-raced early and middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn. DEVIL ENUFF – Steadied from the heels of HONESTYANDLOYALTY (NZ) which shifted out near the 150m. Performed below market expectations and under-went a post-race Veterinary examination, failed to find any apparent abnormalities. Jockey Collett reported that in her opinion the gelding did not appreciate today’s track condition. HONESTYANDLOYALTY (NZ) – Laid out near the 150m. WRITTEN WITH BLOOD – Fractious in the barriers. Raced three wide throughout. FRAZZLED – Bumped rounding the home turn when CHAYSE “N” TANYA was attempting a narrow run to the inside. Jockey T See was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. CHAYSE 'N' TANYA – Slow away. Race 3: BOX FLAT 50TH ANNIVERSARY QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap 1350 metres COCOBREW EXPRESS – Returned with laceration to outside of near hind pastern, consistent with being galloped on. SAILOR'S SECRET – Laid in rounding the home turn. ARMALITE – Began awkwardly and as a result lost some ground. Commenced to over-race and shifted wider near the 900m and raced wide thereafter. BULSARA – Over raced early. Bumped on several occasions when attempting to shift out rounding the home turn. BOOM COURT – Laid in slightly and bumped with BULSARA on several occasions rounding the home turn and became unbalanced. App Wilson-Taylor reported in his opinion the colt did not appreciate today’s track conditions. FOUR MILE LANE – Slow to begin. BETTER STRINGS – Slow to begin. HURI BLACK – Reared and slipped over behind the barriers, underwent Veterinary examination, passed to race. Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn. Race 4: FLOOD CREW OF 22 Class 2 Plate 1350 metres FIRST CROWN – Proved disappointing performance and underwent post-race Veterinary examination which revealed Cardiac Arrhythmia. Trainer advised that prior to the gelding resuming it would require a Veterinary Certificate to include the results of an ECG. FIRST CROWN must also barrier trial prior to resuming. NUMBERS GAME (NZ) – Hung in rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight, then approaching the 150m laid in and across the heels of VANTAN EXPRESS and blundered. VANTAN EXPRESS – Over-raced for a short distance approaching the 1200m when restraining for cover then continued to over-race approaching the 800m. TOP BOY – Steadied from heels leaving the 900m. GRACIE BLUE – Slow to begin. Race 5: COMMUNITY RECOVERY STAKES Class 3 Handicap 1666 metres ELEGANT DROVER – Momentarily held up approaching the home turn. LORD OF DARKNESS (NZ) – Jockey N Thomas was replaced by M Du Plessis due to transport difficulties. CUBIC ZIRCONIA (NZ) – Fractious in the barrier, slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn. CALM SEEKER (NZ) – Forced wider rounding the home turn when CUBIC ZIRCONIA laid out. WINSTON BLUE – Change of tactics: will be ridden further forward. After beginning moderately, failed to muster early speed and settled mid-field. Race 6: 4300 WORKERS CUP Class 2 Plate 1100 metres ANARCHY – Restrained from the wide barrier. Over-raced leaving the 800m. CALCAREOUS – Trainer L Abbott was fined $200 pursuant to LR67 for a late rider declaration. Slow to begin. GENERAL WOLFFE – Slow to begin. RELIABLE RUBY (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Post-race Veterinary examination revealed laceration to the near-fore. FANTOME LADY – Began awkwardly. Race 7: ELECTRICAL TRADES UNION LABOUR DAY CLASSIC BM72 Handicap 1200 metres ROLLINWITHTHEFLOW – Bumped heavily approaching the 1200m. DONANDKIM – Slow to begin. JAKAMA – Slow to begin. Raced wide. DOMINARCHER – Began awkwardly. LADY MELBA (NZ) – Began awkwardly, then bumped and lost ground. HIGHLAND SON – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. VAST KAMA – Checked and lost ground approaching the 800m. App M Castle was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR131(a) in that approaching the 800m she was careless in permitting her mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear causing VAST KAMA to be checked and taken inwards which resulted in ROLLINWITHTHEFLOW to be heavily bumped. The licence of App Castle to ride in races was suspended for a period of twelve (12) days to commence midnight 11/05/2022 and expire midnight 23/05/2022. DARING BELLE – Raced wide without cover throughout. HOT IN PARIS - Approaching the 800m inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on heels and obliged to shift out, then raced wide for the remainder.
