Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 17metres
 
TARBENA (NZ) – Slow to begin. Near the 600m steadied from the heels of EYELIFT which was taken out by SAINT MARTIN. S Thornton, rider of SAINT MARTIN, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
BUIN ROAD – Near the 1400m, when over-racing, obliged to steady when BIRAGUE shifted in. Continued to over-race for some distance thereafter.
 
 
Race 2: RAY WHITE IPSWICH Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
BOOM BY BY – After becoming fractious in the barriers was removed, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Trainer J Hanna was advised the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
MICKARBY – Slow to begin. Near the 100m obliged to restrain from the heels of PEARLS’N’PIMMS which shifted when not fully clear. J Lloyd, rider of PEARLS’N’PIMMS, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for carelessness in this incident.
 
DELYTH – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
OFF ROAD – Stood flat footed at the start and lost significant ground. Trainer S Morrissey was advised OFF ROAD must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
AHIKA – Bumped at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Rider M Du Plessis reported the horse was inclined to hang out throughout.
 
REIGN HAYLIN SHINE (NZ) – Jumped in at the start and bumped AHIKA. Held for clear running at the entrance to the home straight.
 
OSO GOOD – Held for clear running at the entrance to the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: IPSWICH CUP TIX ON SALE Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
EMPEROR'S SECRET – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Raced in restricted room approaching the finish line and had to eased.
 
SKIPPY – Raced in restricted room passing the winning post and shifted in.

SUPER SWEET – As J Huxtable was to be overweight, Stewards permitted to ride the horse. J Huxtable was fined $200 under AR190(3). Rider B Thompson reported the horse hung in for the majority of the event.
 
EXEMPT – Shifted in passing the winning post and crowded runners to the inside.
 
HYPERION ANGEL – Raced three wide throughout.
 
MERRON DIVA – Jumped in at the start and hampered BETTER TO EXCEL. Had to be steadied from heels passing the winning post.
 
BETTER TO EXCEL – Stewards approved a request from Trainer T Gollan for both the winkers and cross-over noseband to be removed from the horse. T Gollan was fined $200 under AR206(3). Crowded on jumping and raced in restricted for room for a short distance. Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.

TEMPLE MISTRESS – Began awkwardly after making heavy contact with the outside barrier partition on jumping. Raced three wide throughout.

 
Race 4: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres
 
NORTHERN EXPRESS – Brushed by ALL THAT PIZZAZZ soon after entering the home straight.
 
PRINCESS MARIAN – Jumped in at the start and bumped GOSSIP TORQUE.
 
ALL THAT PIZZAZZ – Crowded for room and taken in near the 900m. Shifted out and brushed NORTERN EXPRESS soon after entering the home straight.
 
GOSSIP TORQUE – Bumped on jumping.
 
THE UPRISING – Began awkwardly. Checked off heels near the 900m.

 BLUE SPINEL – Checked at the 900m. J Lloyd, rider of NORTHERN EXPRESSA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he made insufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in approaching the 900m which resulted in ALL THAT PIZZAZZ being taken in and crowding BLUE SPINEL which had to be checked. The licence of J Lloyd to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 11th June up to and including midnight 23rd June 2022. The UPRISING, which was following, had to be checked in consequence. Following the event S Thornton reported she did not ride her mount out in her usual manner after she became concerned with the horse’s action after having to be checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small amount of mucous in both nostrils.
 

Race 5: SIRROMET Class 4 Handicap 1350 metres
 
KING'S RULE – Jumped out at the start. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
PETUNIA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

BEACH CLUB – Raced three wide throughout. Inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages. Rider reported the horse was making abnormal respiratory noises on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination confirmed respiratory issues with BEACH CLUB. Trainer B Reardon was advised BEACH CLUB would require a veterinary clearance, including the results of a satisfactory endoscopic report, prior to its next race or trial start.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Soft 7.
 
 
Race 6: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1100 metres
 
BROOK HILL – Approaching the 200m bumped on a number of occasions with RELIABLE RUBY.
 
DAY PERFORMER (NZ) – Raced three wide for the majority.
 
RELIABLE RUBY (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 200m bumped on a number of occasions with BROOK HILL.
 
 
 
Race 7: GREAT NORTHERN RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 Handicap1200 metres
 
BY BY MUSIC – Forced wider on the track near the 900m.
 
MENSA MAESTRO – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
SEA PALLING – Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

REGAL EDITION – Slow to begin. Over the final 100 metres, when racing in restricted room, had to be restrained by its rider to avoid the heels of SEA PALLING, which shifted in when not clear.  T Booker, ridder of SEA PALLING, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift in under riding over the final 100m resulting in REGAL EDITION losing its rightful running. The licence of T Brooker to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 11th June up to and including midnight 20th June 2022.
 
ROSE BY DESIGN – Near the 900m steadied from the heels of MENSA MAESTRO which shifted in when not fully clear resulting in ROSE BY DESIGN shifting out and taking BY BY MUSIC wider on the track.
 
BROCKY – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Rider N Callow reported the horse, in his opinion, did not handle the prevailing track conditions.
 
REVELLERS – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.

 
Race 8: CORONA INFIELD FESTIVAL 18 JUNE BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 17metres
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing connections of both dead-heaters for third to view the patrol footage over the concluding stages. After doing so both parties elected to take the matter no further and correct weight declared on the semaphored placings.
 
NEPTUNE'S CHOICE – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
STORM HARBOUR – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
BIG ANGEL – Knuckled on jumping. Near the 200m momentarily held up before shifting to the inside NEPTUNE’S CHOICE a short distance later to obtain clear running.
 
ICE ELITE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
CONGENIAL MISTRESS – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abrasions to the near hind leg.
 
TOP BOY – Slow to begin.
