QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT IPSWICH TURF CLUB THURSDAY 14 JULY 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Soft 7 RAIL – +6m PENETROMETER – 5.9 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – R. Wallace GENERAL Race 6 – Trainer David Murphy was fined $200 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider for SHINSHINTO by the prescribed time. Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting: Race 1 – VANCITY – M. Murphy +1kgRace 7 – PRINCESS SPARKLES – B. Thompson +1kg Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB Maiden Plate 2180 metres The start of this event was slightly delayed as a result of ROWLETT becoming fractious after being loaded into the barriers. After being removed from the barriers and examined by the veterinary official, stewards acting on the advice of the veterinary official ordered the withdrawal of ROWLETT at 11:19am with the following deductions to apply on the declaration of correct weight: 2 cents the win 4 cents the place for first4 cents for second6 cents for third Trainer T. Lambourn was advised ROWLETT would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again. CEE EYE CEE – Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped SAINT MARTIN. SAINT MARTIN – Bumped shortly after the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ALLBERIN – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. When asked to comment on the below market expectation performance, rider T. Brooker advised stewards that the filly travelled well until approximately the 600m however was under pressure from this point and failing to respond to her riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. VANCITY – Slow to begin. Approaching the 400m was momentarily steadied from the heels of PORT MOURANT which shifted out to improve. M. Du Plessis, the rider of PORT MOURANT, was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future. Race 2: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1350 metres BADGERS NUTS (NZ) – Jumped awkwardly. When asked to comment on the below market expectation performance, rider S. Collett advised stewards that the gelding raced flat and may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. DEVIL ENUFF – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. COME CLEAN – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Race 3: SIRROMET QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1200 metres The start was delayed due to number of runners being reluctant to proceed to the barriers and further delayed owing to LADY DEANNE having to be resaddled upon arrival at the barriers. GOOD'N'LUCKY – Raced wide throughout.MINTO'S POWER – Raced wide in the early stages. VON CRUMB – Raced keenly in the middle stages. HALF MOON BAY – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. MILANO BOOM – Raced keenly in the early stages. Rider B. Thompson advised stewards the filly over-raced in the early stages but then settled and travelled well in the middle stages of the race however failed to quicken when asked and was in his opinion disappointing. LOUISIANA STAR – Improved onto heels approaching the 500m and had to be steadied. Held up approaching the home turn. CRIPPS TONITE – Raced greenly in the home straight. ALFA LILY – Held up for clear running approaching rounding the home turn. Race 4: GREAT NORTHERN Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1200 metres The start of this event was slightly delayed as a result of CHAMPION PARADE becoming fractious after being loaded into the barriers. After being removed from the barriers and examined by the veterinary official, stewards acting on the advice of the veterinary official ordered the withdrawal of CHAMPION PARADE at 1:05 pm with the following deductions to apply on the declaration of correct weight: 1 cent the win 1 cents the place for first1 cent for second1 cent for third Trainer L. White was advised CHAMPION PARADE would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again. BETCHA BABY – Raced wide throughout. MIKKELI – Tightened for room and had to be steadied approaching the 700m when TUSCAN BELLE laid in despite the efforts of its rider. SPRESSI – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. Laid out rounding the home turn. TUSCAN BELLE – Laid in during the early and middle stages of the event. WICKED'N' LOVIN'IT – Shifted in under pressure over the final 100m. Rider M. Hellyer was advised to ensure he rides his mounts out fully to the line. GISELLE'S GAMBLE – Slow to begin. GOODSCENT – Jumped awkwardly. Obliged to alter course approaching the 50m to secure clear running. Race 5: SCHWEPPES Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate 1200 metres BOOM BY BY – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start. Approaching the 150m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of another runner. CHAIN OF FIRE – Raced wide throughout. Laid out from the 600m point. FLYING DEPUTY – Bumped shortly after the start. LA FUSEE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. HYDE – Jumped awkwardly and bumped BENEFICIENT. Approaching the 1100m shifted in and away from another runner resulting in the colt having to be steadied from heels. BENEFICIENT - Hampered on jumping. Buffeted and raced in restricted room shortly after the start resulting in the gelding having to be checked from heels. TIMSTAR – Cast its off-fore plate during the event. Race 6: CLUB MOUNT LEWIS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap800 metres Whilst on route to the barriers SAY GOODBYE took charge of its rider and galloped a significant distance. Stewards ordered the withdrawal of SAY GOODBYE at 2:12 pm with the following deductions to apply on the declaration of correct weight: 1 cent the win 2 cents the place for first2 cents for second2 cents for third CONGLOMERATE – Bumped shortly after the start. ASK AUDREY – Obliged to steady from heels at the winning post. SHINSHINTO – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Race 7: IPSWICH EVENTS & ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE Class 3 Handicap 1690 metres DARING MAN – Jumped awkwardly and bumped with TIMELY SHADOW. DIASONIC - Jumped awkwardly and bumped with PRINCESS SPARKLES. DERANI – Approaching the 100m improved onto the heels of the tiring WILLINGA PANACHE and as a result became unbalanced when being steadied by its rider. DU MAURIER – Nearing the 50m was disappointed for a run and as a result was held up for a short distance. Rider T. Brooker was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(b) for failing to ride her mount out to the end of the race. In assessing penalty stewards were satisfied that her actions had not cost her mount fourth place. PRINCESS SPARKLES – Bumped at the start. CAIRNDOW – Shifted out approaching the 1300m after improving onto heels and raced wide for the remainder of the event. TIMELY SHADOW – Bumped at the start. WAIKATO – Raced wide throughout. Race 8: THE BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1350 metres RIVER ROCKET– Raced wide early. TABARD – Rider E. MacPherson was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip 6 times prior to the 100m. REGAL EDITION - Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. SERENA (NZ) – Nearing the 150m was tightened for racing room and had to be checked when racing to the inside of FASTNET JACK which had improved into a narrow run to the inside of AMORE PRIMUS which shifted in. M. Du Plessis the rider of AMORE PRIMUS was reprimanded pursuant AR 131(a) for this incident. In assessing penalty stewards were mindful that Jockey Du Plessis had made some effort to correct his mount. Rider M. Castle reported the mare got its tongue over the bit.MISTER LARRABEE – Rider L. Dittman advised stewards that the gelding failed to handle the prevailing track conditions. FASTNET JACK – Blundered on jumping. Improved into a narrow run to the inside of AMORE PRIMUS approaching the 150m and had to be steadied when that runner shifted inward. AMORE PRIMUS – Shifted in under pressure approaching the 150m.Rider M. Du Plessis advised stewards that the gelding failed to handle the prevailing track conditions. STATIC LIFT – Raced wide early. Race 9: KINGSLEY LAWSON LAWYERS Class 2 Plate 1200 metres KEETA – Raced wide throughout. Rider N. Thomas reported the gelding got its tongue over the bit. NIC ME SOME – For some distance leaving the 500m was steadied when awkwardly placed at heels. Held up rounding the home turn until leaving the 100m. LITTLE MISS PIXIE – Raced wide throughout. CHERRYPICK – Jumped awkwardly. BONNIE EV - Jumped awkwardly. Held up for clear running over the final 100m. CROWN WAR - Jumped awkwardly. BY BY MUSIC– Over-raced for a short distance after being crossed by other runners approaching the 800m. SIZZLING RIVER - Bumped heavily after the start and lost ground. Over-raced in the middle stages and had to be steadied from heels at the 800m. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. ASTROPHYSICS – Raced wide throughout.
