SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
GENERAL
 
Following a report from QRIC IIT officers who today attended the stables of Dianne Murphy for a routine race day inspection, an unopened bottle of the banned product Hemoplex was found. Trainer Dianne Murphy pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR252A (i) which states that “a person must not have in her possession, or on her premises, any injectable product which contains cobalt salts”. Stewards when considering the circumstances fined Mrs. Murphy $400.
 
 
Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
Deferential – Slow to begin. Over-raced and became unbalanced near the 900m.
 
Classique Gal – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced and steadied near the 150m.
 
Caesaris – Began awkwardly. Became unbalanced when obliged to race in restricted room near the 900m. Laid out when under pressure in the home straight.
 
Yes To Excess – Hung out rounding the home turn and continued to do so when under pressure in the home straight.
 
Flop Turn River – Raced wide throughout.
 
Takeru – Over-raced and became unbalanced near the 900m.
 
Race 2: SIRROMET QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1350 metres
 
Following the running of Race 1 the track was upgraded to Soft 6.
 
Better Times – Bumped and forced wider near the 400m.
 
Mishani Mobster – Slow to begin. Forced wider on the track from the 500m. Trainer L Ross reported to stewards that the horse displayed signs of heat stress post-race after having returned to scale with its tongue over the bit and he would now experiment with the use of a tongue tie.
 
Where Ya Bean – Hung out badly throughout the event and as a result took no competitive part in the event from the 500m. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Bruce Hill was advised that the gelding must officially trial prior to racing again.
 
 
Race 3: IGA PROUDLY INDEPENDENT Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
Birmingham – Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn and then continued to have difficulty securing clear running whilst laying in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Twomakesapair – Slow to begin. Approaching the 900m, improved onto heels when the pace slackened and as a result was steadied and shifted out bumping EPAUVESCENT.
 
Son Of Mercury – Leaving the 1000m, improved onto heels when the pace slackened and as a result was steadied.
 
Viking Forever – Began awkwardly. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. Rider dropped whip near the 100m.
 
Marleedoone – Held up for clear running from the 600m until passing the 300m and laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Struan Lad – Leaving the 1000m, improved onto heels when the pace slackened and as a result was steadied. Shifted in abruptly when struck with the whip approaching the 100m and had to be steadied from heels as a result.
 
Rabbit Stu – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 900m, improved onto heels when the pace slackened and as a result was steadied
 
Epauvescent – Bumped heavily on jumping and lost ground. L Cassidy reported that it had not been his intention to settle back in the field. Bumped and forced wider near the 900m.
 
 
 
Race 4: IGA, LOCALS SUPPORTING LOCALS Fillies and Mares Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Laraina – Raced wide without cover.
 
Ahika – Raced wide.
 
Sumnamilla – Stewards permitted L Dittman to ride +0.5kg overweight.
 
Vonzither – Blundered on jumping. Held up when rounding the home turn.
 
Astrophysics – Slow to begin.
 
Boom Chugga Lugga – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: IGA LOCALS MATTER Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Following the running of Race 4 the track was upgraded to Soft 5.
 
Snazz 'N' Charm – Began awkwardly.
 
Celestial Sol – Raced wide. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Ned's Gully – Tightened for room and checked at the start. Rider reported that, as a result of tightening at the start, he was obliged to race further back in the field than he would have liked. Held up for clear running when attempting a narrow runner near the 200m. Checked leaving 900m and became awkward shifting out. Apprentice Madeline Wishart pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that when leaving the 900m she allowed her mount SIDEWALK to shift in when not clear of NED’S GULLY causing that runner to be checked and shift wider. Apprentice Wishart’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 9/9/2022 and to conclude midnight 17/9/2022.
 
Tuscany Bound – Raced wide.
 
Early Crow – Trainer K Fogden advised stewards of a change of tactics, as it was her intention to have the gelding settle in a forward position if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Improved onto the heel of the tiring TIKKA READY over the concluding stages.
 
Tikka Ready – Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
Boom By By – Raced wide.
 
Roman Heir – Tightened for room, clipped heels and blundered on jumping. Tightened for room when leaving the 900m.
 
Sidewalk – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping NED’S GULLY.
 
Race 6: TRIVIA NIGHT SEPTEMBER Class 4 Handicap 1100 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed due to CANEXCELL being reluctant to leave the enclosure and proceed to the barriers.
 
Canexcell – Slow to begin.
 
Magnitudo – Tightened for room near the 900m
 
Rich Lister – Tightened for room and checked when leaving the 900m.
 
Camerlengo – Tightened for room and checked when leaving the 900m.
 
Frisco's Image – Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
Skilord (NZ) – Shifted in despite the efforts of its rider near the 900m and caused tightening to MAGNITUDO, RICH LISTER and CAMERALENGO. Trainer M Currie was advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners.
 
Master Red – Tightened for room and lost ground at the start. Jockey Robbie Fradd was found guilty of a charge under AR131(b) for of failing to ride his mount out to the completion of the event and was fined the sum of $300.
 
Saddle Boy – Shifted in and made heavy contact with the running rail leaving the 900m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 7: IEEC.COM.AU BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1350 metres
 
Call Me Legend – Tightened for room and checked at the start.
 
HE KNOWS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Obliged to check from heels when the pace slackened approaching the 1000m. Held up when rounding the home turn.
 
Sailing – Obliged to check from heels when the pace slackened approaching the 1000m and race wide from that point onwards, Jasmine Cornish, the rider of ARCHDEACON, was reprimanded for this incident as in the opinion of stewards she had overly steadied the pace of her mount.
 
Dream Song – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Tycoon Dancer – Raced wide during the early stages and permitted to stride forward to the lead approaching the 800m.
 
Tricology (NZ) – Raced wide.
 
Scottish Prince -  Began awkwardly. Obliged to check from heels when the pace slackened approaching the 1000m. Held up when rounding the home turn and during the early part of the home straight.
