SANDGATE ROAD – Jumped out at the start and bumped ENOLABA. Raced wide from the 1000m.

SOLAROSA – Began awkwardly. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

ZEEBLING – Apprentice J Cornish could offer no explanation for the poor performance other than the horse was unable to muster speed in the early stages and therefore settled further back in the field than anticipated, adding that the slow early tempo of the race also did not suit the racing pattern of ZEEBLING.Raced wide from the 1000m.

BETTER TIMES – Rider S Thornton reported her saddle shifted back on jumping away.

ENOLABA – Bumped at the start.

Race 2: BASE METAL FABRICATION Class 5 Handicap 1690 metres

When asked to comment on the performance rider R Maloney stated the horse was very one-paced today and did not quicken as expected when placed under pressure, adding REFLECT THE STARS best form has been in races over longer distances than that of today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than a slight cough.

POINT THE WAGON – Bumped near the 900m. Lost the off fore plate in running.

LITTLE JERRY – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near foreleg and treated accordingly by the on course veterinary surgeon. Trainer F Hall was advised the horse would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.

At a subsequent inquiry J Byrne, rider of TOBA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 1200m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of CLASSIQUE GAL which was taken in resulting in ACCELERATED GROWTH being crowded onto the running rail and having to be checked. The licence of J Byrne to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 28th Oct up to and including midnight 6th November 2022. When asked to comment on the performance rider J Lloyd reported after receiving interference in the early stages the horse was under pressure from the 800m, failed to respond to his riding from that point and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainer B Baldwin advised he would report back to Stewards any condition which may come to light in the coming days to explain the disappointing performance.

Bearing in mind the racing manners of DYNAMIC DUO leading up top the incident, Stewards could apportion no blame to any one rider.
