Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer S Dwyer for the late declaration of rider on DUTCHY’S ANGEL in Race 4. GENERALStewards permitted the following weight variations at today’s meeting:Race 4: DUTCHY’S ANGEL - M Powell – 54.5kg (+0.5kg) Race 1: THIS IS A CONVERSATION STARTER FOUNDATION QTIS3-Y-O BENCHMARK 65 Hand 1350 metres SAILOR'S SECRET – Bumped at the start. CHAMPAGNE TASTES – After beginning awkwardly jumped in and bumped SAILOR’S SECRET. Approaching the 400m shifted in and brushed the running rail. Race 2: BASE METAL FABRICATION Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate1350 metres CASTACONI – When asked to comment on the performance rider A Mallyon reported the horse failed to quicken when placed under pressure after an inside run presented to the inside of MISS CINNAMONCIDER soon after entering the home straight, adding he had recommended to connections CASTACONI may be better suited to races over a shorter distance than that of today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed symptoms of heat stress and a slow post-race recovery. CRYSTALLIZATION – Raced wide from the 700m. Near the 1000m was restrained from the heels of CASTACONI. Leaving the 500m bumped by LITTLE JILL which shifted out to improve. I PREFER MINTIES – Slow to begin. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rider B Thompson reported he was of the opinion the horse would be better suited to races over a longer distance than that of today. LITTLE JILL – Leaving the 500m shifted out and bumped CRYSTALLIZATION. SOUNDS DIVINE – On arrival at the barriers the near hind shoe was tightened. Underwent a veterinary examination prior to being loaded into the barriers and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event and raced greenly in the home straight. STAR OF COUTEAU – Awkwardly placed at heels rounding the home turn. FRENCH STEP – Awkwardly placed at heels rounding the home turn. Race 3: SWICH ON INC Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate1350 metres BAY STREET – After being slow to begin was hampered shortly after when METAVERSE jumped inwards. GALLERY MASTER – Change of tactics, to be ridden further back if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.Raced wide for the majority of the event. GERARDJOSEPH – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide for the majority. NIRVANA NINJA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide in the early stages of the event. VALE STREET – When struck with the whip at the entrance to the home straight shifted in and became awkwardly placed at the heels of GUS THE BUS for a short distance. ZESTY BOY – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages of the event. METAVERSE – Jumped in at the start. Over-raced in the early stages of the event. Raced wide for the majority. Following this event, the track was upgraded to a Soft 5. Race 4: OXLEY GOLF CLUB BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 800 metres STORM ATTACK – On arrival at the barriers when the off-hind plate was unable to be refitted, permission was granted for the near hind plate to be removed and the horse to race bare behind. Underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start prior to being loaded into the barriers. Blundered on jumping and lost ground. REMEMBER MARY – Raced five wide throughout. ORSETTO – Raced three wide throughout. DUTCHY'S ANGEL – Slow to begin. Raced four wide throughout. Race 5: ICARE SERVICES AUSTRALIA Class 4 Handicap 1200 metres EURO BELLE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight and as a consequence near the 200m shifted in and bumped TOLKOWSKY. CELESTIAL SOL – Raced keenly when leading the event in the early and middle stages. SILESIAN – Rider R Fradd reported the horse was inclined to lay in throughout the event. TOLKOWSKY – Bumped near the 200m. NOWYUNOMI – Slow to begin. Rider R Payne reported it had been her intention to lead the event had the horse not been slow to begin. Shortly after the start was steadied from the heels of EXPECTANT. JUBAI PRIDE – Rider L Cassidy reported he was disappointed with the finishing effort of the horse when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 6: SIRROMET Class 1 Handicap 1350 metres TABULAM – Steadied from heels when the pace eased near the 1000m.Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. TUKI TWELVE – Slow to begin. ORONOCO – Raced wide for the majority of the event.Jumped out at the start and bumped ISLA’S DAY. On pulling up ORONOCO shied away from a section of dry clippings which a gust of wind blew onto the track dislodging rider J Lloyd resulting in the horse galloping some distance, breaking through the outside fence, and exiting the racecourse precinct. ORONOCO was returned to the track and treated by the on-course veterinary surgeon for numerous abrasions to both front and hind legs. Rider J Lloyd was stood down from his remaining engagement and transported to hospital for observation and will require a medical clearance prior to his next race or trial ride. Trainer M Lakey was advised ORONOCO would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race or trial start. HARMONY REIGNS – Near the 800m raced ungenerously for a short distance when steadied from the heels of GREYT INTENTIONS. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. ISLA'S DAY – Bumped at the start. DIAMOND BEANS - Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 7: NUTURF BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1350 metres The start of this event was rescheduled to 4:50pm and Race 8 to 5:30pm due to a horse in the previous race requiring veterinary attention. BUSHIDO – Jumped out at the start and bumped HAPPY CANDY. Bumped rounding the home turn by HAPPY CANDY which shifted out to improve. OCEAN EMPEROR – On arrival at the barriers the saddle on the horse was adjusted.HAPPY CANDY – After being slow to begin was then bumped by BUSHIDO which jumped out. Rounding the home turn shifted out to improve and bumped BUSHIDO. DEMBE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event when racing outside the leader. Rider L Tilley desisted from pressuring the horse in the home straight after DEMBE felt awkward in its action. Blundered on pulling up.A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. DREAM SONG – Slow to begin. Hung out for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. OAKFIELD TARGET – Jumped awayawkwardly and made heavy contact with the inside barrier partition. FISH ON – Slow to begin. Race 8: BUNDABERG RUM Class 2 Handicap 1666 metres ABSOLUTE CHARMER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed symptoms of heat stress and a poor post-race recovery. CHASING JACKLEY – As J Lloyd was transported to hospital after being dislodged from his mount in race 6, Stewards permitted J Orman to ride CHASING JACKELEY. ATLANTIC ROYAL – Over-raced in the middle stages when the pace eased. Rider R Fradd reported the horse was inclined to lay in for the majority of the event. PERNELL – Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 900m. AY BEE ARE – Slow to begin. LUCAMOUR – Rider J Byrne reported the horse was inclined to lay out throughout the event, placing him at some disadvantage. Trainer C Zintilis was advised a warning would be placed on LUCAMOR for laying out. MISS JUVENILE – Near the 900m was steadied from heels when the pace of the race eased.
