Race 5 – Michael Cahill plus 1kg at 55kg. Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 800 metres IN MOTION- Hung out rounding the home turn. Raced greenly in the home straight and near the 150m improved onto heels and was forced to shift to the inside to secure clear running. SPEEDY MACHO- Began awkwardly. BETHEHORSE- Shifted out whilst racing greenly near the 650m. HAYAI UMA- Hung out for the majority of the event. MISS CANTIK- Raced 4 wide without cover throughout. PRINCESS RUMORS- Slow to begin, failed to muster speed and trailed the field throughout. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. PSYCHEDELIC BEAN- Slow to begin. A post-race Veterinary examination of the filly revealed it to have sustained a mild laceration to the off hind leg consistent with having been galloped on. THE QUICKENING- Began awkwardly. Near the 600m was steadied to avoid heels. Race 2: TAB Maiden Plate 2100 metres SEQUOIA CHIEFTAIN- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. SPANISH KING- Made the turn out of the home straight on the first occasion awkwardly. As a result of racing keenly and being caught wide, was allowed to stride forward by its rider to assume a position outside the leader near the 850m. Raced greenly for the majority. ZELSON- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Over raced in the early and middle stages. OUTA TAORMINA- Slow to begin. Hung out rounding the home turn. TOPTIMISTIC- As trainer M Dunn negligently failed to bring Visors to the track, he was permitted to race the mare in Blinkers. Subsequently Mr Dunn was fined $200. AR106(2). Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages. Made the turn out of the home straight on the first occasion awkwardly. Improved onto heels near the 1300m and was checked. LA VITTORIA- Slow to begin. Forced wider by another runner near the 1000m and as a result raced wide without cover for the remainder. Bumped near the 300m. NGOZI- Bumped near the 300m. Jockey J Byrne explained that he was instructed to allow the filly to settle where it was comfortable and to not overly pressure the filly in the early stages. Mr Byrne further advised that he had anticipated settling further forward however as a consequence being awkwardly placed inside the heels of KAYTEE REINADO in the early stages he was obliged to take a trailing position behind that runner and as a result he settled further back than he had anticipated. Race 3: ST PATRICK'S RACES 17 MARCH QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1600 metres BETTER CLASS- After becoming fractious in the barriers, was removed and examined by the Veterinary surgeon and passed suitable to race. Improved onto heels near the 1000m and was checked. ENTERPRISE LASSIE- Began awkwardly. Over raced during the early and middle stages. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a poor post recovery and to be suffering from mild heat stress. LOVE ON DISPLAY- Near the 900m improved onto heels and was checked. ANOTHER DAZZLER- Slow to muster early speed and trailed the field throughout. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer N Hocking was advised that ANOTHER DAZZLER would not be permitted to start at TAB venues until such time as the gelding establishes improved forms at non-tab venues. Race 4: THE BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Class 4 Handicap 1080 metres STORMY ROCK- Bumped on jumping. OCEAN EMPEROR- Improved onto heels near the 600m and as a result shifted wider on the track. NED'S GULLY- Bumped on jumping. SAM'S A NATURAL- Slow to begin. TURBOART- Laid out slightly rounding the home turn. DREAM SONG- Forced wider by another runner near the 800m and as a result raced wide without cover for the remainder. Race 5: IEEC OPEN EVENING FROM 4PM Maiden Handicap 1080 metres DARK HARMONY- Bumped on jumping. CAMPIONE- Slow to begin. Jockey B Thompson reported that in in his opinion the mare would be better suited racing in distances greater than that of today’s event at this stage of its preparation. MUST- Laid in in the early stages of the home straight and leaving the 200m shifted in abruptly. GRANITE PRINCE- Hung out rounding the home turn. App. I Rabjones reported that she was aware that at the geldings only prior start, Jockey M Harley was advised to attempt to obtain a forward position on the gelding, however as a result of beginning only moderately, it settled further back than anticipated. Ms Rabjones added that again today the instructions issued by trainer M Nolan were to settle in a forward position and as a result of beginning better was able to obtain the leading position in today’s event. WAN D'AMOUR- Bounded on jumping. Shifted out near the 200m whilst racing greenly and as a result bumped another runner. Raced greenly over the final 100m. Trainer K Afford was advised a warning would be issued against the mares racing manners. HEROIC MISS- Held up rounding the home turn. Bumped leaving the 200m when WAN D’AMOUR shifted out abruptly. RED HOT LOVE- Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping and became unbalanced. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. PRIDE AN' JOY- Slow to begin. WANDILLA- Slow to begin. Race 6: WWW.IEEC.COM.AU Class 2 Handicap 1600 metres Following the running of Race 5 the track was upgraded to a Good 4. JETFOIL- Jockey Cahill reported on returning to scale that the gelding changed strides on a number of occasions during the event and in his opinion performing somewhat disappointingly. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. ELEGANT DROVER- Jockey J Orman could offer no explanation for the below market expectation performance. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. AQUARIUS- Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. ROYALSPECTOR- Over raced in the early stages. WITCH DAY- Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Race 7: BOOK YOUR WEDDING AT IEEC Fillies & Mares RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1500 metres ILLECEBROUS- Declared a late scratching by order of Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 8:00am. Trainer V Venkaya was advised he will be required to obtain a Veterinary clearance for the mare prior to next racing. ALL TOO QUICK - Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer M Morrison to allow the mare to race in hoof pads. A pre-race Veterinary examination cleared the horse as suitable to race. MARCADA- Laid out under pressure in the home straight. DEVILLAIN- Slow to begin. NANO STAR- Forced wider rounding the home turn when MILAGRO shifted out to secure clear running. SHAPIN POWER - Near the 1400m momentarily raced in restricted room. Near 900m momentarily raced in restricted room. Race 8: BOOK YOUR CORPORATE EVENTS AT IEEC Colts, Geldings & Entires RATINGS B 1500 metres TEXAS HOLD'EM- Slow to begin. STORMTROOPER- App S Champkin was reprimanded for using her whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(ii). HERECUM DA DRUMS- Slow to begin. CONISMO- Commenced to over race near the 1000m and was steadied from heels. MOUNT PADRAO- Over raced in the early stages and near the 1400m when being restrained threw its head in the air and lost ground. JUDICATOR- Raced wide in the early stages. BEAT IT- Slow to begin.
