Orman +0.5kgRace 7 – L. Cassidy +0.5kg Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB RATINGS BAND 0 - 65Handicap 1710 metres Choir Boy – Laid out rounding the home turn. Vivenzo – Began awkwardly, shifted in bumping PUNT YOUR WAY OUT. Layed in under pressure in home straight. Port Mourant – Began awkwardly, bumped shortly after start. Count On Me (NZ) – Bumped shortly after start. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, jockey Ben Thompson stated that he was unable to take up a leading position in the race and when asked for an effort passing the 600m mark, failed to respond to his riding and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. Punt Your Way Out – Bumped after start. Over raced early stages, passing the 1100m had to be restrained after improving onto heels. Passing the 200m, had to be eased and shifted wider to avoid the heels of VIVENZO which shifted in under pressure. Original Glaze – Raced wide early stages. Race 2: TAB Maiden Plate 1350 metres Agro Again – Blundered at the start. Rider J Stanley advised that he was intending to settle into the first half of the field, however when the gelding blundered at the start he was obliged to race further back in the field. Darkened Destiny – Rider M Hellyer reported that the gelding had a tendency to hang in during the course of the event. Jackson On Time – Laid in under pressure in the straight. Mont Royal – Fractious before the start. Encompass – Slow to begin, bumped after start. Prince Of Pop – Slow to begin. Chooky Cheerleader – Slow to begin, bumped after start.Improved onto the heels of the tiring ZORAYDAH (NZ). Zoraydah (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly was lame in the near foreleg. Trainer D Vandyke was advised that ZORAYDAH (NZ) would require a veterinary clearance before racing again. Race 3: THE BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Maiden Plate 1350 metres Big Ticket Boy – Raced wide throughout. Mailout – Raced wide early stages. Italian Virtuoso – Jumped awkwardly. Simple Way – Laid in under pressure. Raced wide throughout Simply Rose – Raced wide throughout. Dragon Song – Held up on the heels of ZESTAR leaving the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be displaying clinical signs of cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer M. Morrison was advised that DRAGON SONG would not be permitted to start in a race until a veterinary certificate inclusive of ECG results are forwarded to stewards as well as performing a satisfactory trial. Zestar – Apost-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Fee – Slow to begin. Race 4: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 2210 metres Galifianakis (IRE) – Slow into stride, as a result of the gelding being fractious prior to the start being effected. Orleans Rock (NZ) – Slow to begin. Apataki (NZ) – Tended to shift out under pressure in the home straight. Firebox – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages and leaving the 1400m the saddle of FIREBOX shifted forward placing T.Marshall in a severe disadvantage and as a result took no competitive part there after. Race 5: RACING THIS EASTER MONDAY QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts& Geldings Maiden 1200 metres I Say Boom – Slow to begin. Pergamon – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being fractious in the barriers, PERGAMON was cleared to start. When questioned the performance of the gelding J. Byrne stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rangatira – Overraced in the early stages. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the home straight. Sonic Light – Raced wide in the early stages. Whisky Dream – Raced wide throughout Irrigator – Jumped away awkwardly. Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate1200 metres Cavaup - Raced wide throughout. Deep Undercover – Began awkwardly, raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the performance of the filly, B. Thornton stated that he could not provide an explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Guru Class – Trainer J. Bruce advised GURU CLASS will be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. After beginning awkwardly and losing ground, the filly settled in a rearward position with cover. Paris Avenue – Slow to begin. Was held up for clear running on entering the home straight and passing the 200m was obliged to shift wider to improve. Ready To Boom – Overraced in the early middle stages.Passing the 800m became awkwardly placed on the heels of CICCONE and as a result shifted out hampering THRILLING AWARD. Snow Boum – Slow to begin. Thrilling Award – Passing the 800m was hampered by READY TO BOOM. Jockey Du Plessis stated that his mount failed to travel at any stage. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be displaying an upper respiratory noise. Trainer B. Baldwin was advised that THRILLING AWARD a veterinary clearance inclusive of an endoscopic report prior to being permitted to start again. Race 7: LABOUR DAY RACES MONDAY 1 MAY Class 1 Handicap1350 metres Kronenbourg (NZ) – Fractious before start, jumped awkwardly.Laid in leaving the 400m. Must – Laid out under pressure in the concluding stages. Nasha – Fractious before the start and was slow to begin. Steadied from the heels of Kronenbourg (NZ) leaving the 400m. Held up for clear running entering the home turn until passing the 300m. Mexican Star – Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure in the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Race 8: SIRROMET Class 4 Handicap 1350 metres Ocean Emperor – Raced wide early stages. Carried wider passing the 400m by BANDIT which shifted out to improve. Tidal Rush – Jumped away awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, apprentice C.Graham stated that being first up today TIDAL RUSH may not have appreciated the fast early tempo of the race but added her mount would derive benefit from todays run. She also added that in her opinion TIDAL RUSH may not have handled today’s surface. Reflect the Stars – Slow on stride. Bandit – Held up for clear running passing the 400m before shifting wider to improve. Race 9: EVENTS @ IEEC.COM.AU BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1200 metres Carribean King (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Brocky – Began awkwardly and bumped RAVAGED AWARD. Overraced in the early stages and approaching the 1000m had to be restrained from heels. Ravaged Award – Bumped after start. Overraced in the early stages. Approaching the 200m had to be restrained off the heels of MORETON BAY and was obliged to shift wider to improve. Madame Mo – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room passing the 400m and became awkwardly placed on heels. Moreton Bay – Raced in restricted room inside the 100m. Paperclip – Raced in restricted room passing the 100m. Beau Arrow – Trainer M.Dunn advised a potential change of tactics for BEAU ARROW to settle further forward. The gelding settled in a forward position and raced wide.
