Trainer B Cavanough was reprimanded under the provisions of AR102 for failing to lodge stable returns indicating DANGEREUSE & VALOIS had been gelded prior to their most recent trials.
 
 
Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 800 metres
 
Boovey – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Chakra Boy –Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Cressbrook – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Dangereuse – Slow to begin. Accidently dropped whip on entering the home straight.
 
Flag Hall – Laid out when placed passing the 500m.
 
Capital Em – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 2: THE BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
Miss Bacall (NZ) – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight to approaching the 200m.
 
Fantwa – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up for clear running passing the 500m. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
A Bit Bazarre – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.
 
Obsidian Rose – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Rebel Lass – Late scratching on veterinary advice at 11am after injuring itself enroute to the course. Trainer K Kemp was advised that Rebel Lass would require a veterinary clearance prior to accepting for a future race start.
 
Sukiche – Trainer advised of a change of tactics to be ridden further back. Ridden accordingly. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.  Passing the 800m, improved on heels and as a result shifted wider and raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
Superdini – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Co-trainer G Lane were advised that SUPERDINI would be restricted to country or Non-TAB venues until finding competitive form.
 
Race 3: TAB OPEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
Haunted – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and approaching the 100m was obliged to shift wider to improve. 
 
Ovidius- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being reshod behind the barriers and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Renegade –Slow to begin.
 
Mort Doyle – Late scratching on veterinary advice at 12.25pm on veterinary advice. Trainer L Doyle was advised that Mort Doyle would require a veterinary clearance prior to accepting for a future race start.
 
Princess Bojack – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance of the Mare, trainer M Nolan stated that PRINCESS BOJACK is better suited racing closer on the speed.
 
Hard Landing – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Race 4: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 800 metres
 
For My Annie – Raced wide throughout the event. Trainer reported that in his opinion FOR MY ANNIE would derive significant benefit from today’s first up run.
 
Turboart – Became awkward in its action shortly after jumping away and as a result failed to muster early speed. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and passing the 150m was disappointed for a run between BARONESSA and DUTCHY’S ANGEL, which laid in.
 
Hard Stride – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Marokawa – Slow to begin.
 
Cassy's Sister – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer S Lee was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to a future start.
 
Dutchy's Angel – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Handicap 1350 metres
 
Betterdeel – Hampered on jumping away. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Heroic Miss – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Radiant Queen – Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
Race 6: LABOUR DAY RACES MONDAY 1 MAY RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 Handicap 1350 metres
 
Avoca – Passing the 300m was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of LATE NIGHT DEVIL which shifted in. Jockey C Bayliss, rider of LATE NIGHT DEVIL, was reprimanded under AR131(a).
 
Nippa's Nightcap – Slow to begin.
 
Devillain – Slow to begin and was hampered shortly after. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
Bambalam – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Quotant – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 7: SIRROMET Class 2 Plate 1666 metres
 
Buon Acquisto (NZ) – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until passing the 200m improved into a narrow run to the outside of PATMOS ISLAND.
 
Flying Euros – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Patmos Island – Hampered passing the 200m when BUON ACQUISTO (NZ) improved into a tight run to its outside.
 
Distant Secret – Slow to begin.
 
Dawn Colours – Trainer G Baker was advised a warning would be placed on the record of the mare in regards to its pre-race manners. Raced wide throughout the event. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 150m.
 
Fireflies – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
