Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting- Race 9 – THE GIRL’S BOY – R Wiggins + 0.5kg Race 1: TAB IPSWICH CUP TICKETS ON SALE QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1100 metres CIFRADO – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. When shifting out to obtain clear running near the 300m, made contact with HINATA. GOLDEN IMAGE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey B Loy stated that the gelding raced greenly throughout which in his opinion affected the horse’s overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. HEROIC EAGLE – Bumped on jumping. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. HINATA – Raced wide throughout. Whilst weakening, was bumped by CIFRADO, became unbalanced and lost ground. When asked to comment, jockey B Thompson reported that the horse raced wide throughout, however could offer no other tangible explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. THE LITTLE SPARROW – Bumped on jumping. Race 2: WELCOME BARRIER REEF POOLS QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1100 metres ASAMBE – Slow to begin. MASTERPLAN – After being held up rounding the home turn, shifted out to obtain clear running passing the 200m and in doing so bumped SHE’SGOTACCESS. MIXED SPICE – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. SHE'SGOTACCESS – Over raced in the early stages. Bumped by MASTERPLAN passing the 200m. WONDERLAND STAR – Slow to begin. Race 3: STROUD HOMES IPSWICH QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1350 metres CENTRAL PARK – Held up rounding the home turn. CONQUISTADORES – Began awkwardly. Jockey R Wiggins reported that he was obliged to pressure his mount in the early and middle stages as it was reluctant to hold a position. MISHANI AVIATOR – Raced wide throughout. MISTER MODERATION – Began awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn. Jockey B Thompson reported that his instructions were to obtain cover in a forward position, which he attempted to fulfil in the early stages, however he was unable to do so and as a result pressured his mount to a position outside the leader passing the 800m. SHE MINE – Momentarily held up for clear running passing the 400m. Race 4: BNB DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION Maiden Plate 1666 metres BIG TICKET BOY – Jockey G Cartwright reported that it had been her intention to settle further back in the field similar to last start, however after other runners suffered interference from the riderless DARKENED DESTINY shortly after the start, she elected to allow the gelding to stride forward to a position outside the lead. DARKENED DESTINY – Blundered and shifted out abruptly, dislodging jockey M Hellyer, and causing significant interference to runners to its outside. Cast its near-fore plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. DIFFERENT ROAD – Severely tightened by the riderless DARKENED DESTINY shortly after the start and was checked. ZESTY BOY (NZ) – Buffeted shortly after the start and restrained to obtain cover. ENCOMPASS – Severely tightened by the riderless DARKENED DESTINY shortly after the start and was checked. ITALIAN AWARD – Tightened for room and steadied shortly after the start. FEE – Checked to avoid heels shortly after the start, when significantly tightened for room. Over raced when being restrained to obtain cover in the early stages. LIZZIE'S PRIDE (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. OBSIDIAN ROSE – Tightened for room and steadied shortly after the start. Held up rounding the home turn. Obliged to alter course near the 250m when disappointed for a run and then had to steady when placed in restricted room approaching the 100m. NGOZI (NZ) – Cast its near hind plate in running. Checked to avoid heels shortly after the start, when significantly tightened for room. Race 5: PENNYWISE BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1350 metres A CALL FROM HEAVEN – Steadied when obliged to race in restricted room shortly after the start. BOHO BEAUTY – Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn. KINETIC – Began awkwardly and lost ground. CHOIR – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Race 6: THE SHED COMPANY QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate1350 metres FLASH PRINCE – Tightened for room at the start. Raced greenly in the early and middle stages. KOZANI – Connections advised that it is the intention for the gelding to be ridden in a position with cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Bumped and tightened for room at the start. Jockey B Thompson reported that his mount raced flat after having travelled in a favourable position, and found the line only fairly. PAIENBARA – Tightened for room and brushed the running rail near the 500m. PRINCE OF POP – Jockey R Maloney reported that his mount was short in its action from the 600m. A post-race veterinary exmaination revealed no abormalities. CANDY CLOUDS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced in restricted room approaching the 100m after securing a tight run to the inside of NAGAMIE. ROAR HIDE – Raced greenly. Race 7: VINCE INSURANCE Class 1 Handicap 1666 metres KRONENBOURG (NZ) – After becoming fractious in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be lame in the near-hindleg. Subsequently was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 2:53pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on KRONEBOURG be refunded with the following deductions to apply – 1st – 44c the win, 29c the place2nd – 29c the place3rd – 28c the place Trainer T Gollan was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary certificate prior to next racing. MAPLE DOOR – Tightened for room and steadied on jumping. Raced wide from the 1300m. NINA ARTIE – Slow to begin. Had difficulty securing clear running from leaving the 400m until approaching the 100m. JIMMY THE TULIP – Raced three-wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. MUST – Laid in under pressure in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage. TIME TO TESTIFY – Began awkwardly, bumping MAPLE DOOR. Over raced when restrained to obtain cover near the 1400m. Race 8: ROSE JENSEN KENT LAWYERS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 800 metres ICED – Slow to begin. THE BILLIONAIRE – Slow to begin. SHINSHINTO – Raced wide without cover throughout. LUCIFER'S LOOT – Near the 500m, obliged to steady from the heels of MARCH FORWARD which shifted out and lost ground. DEEP STATE – Approaching the 400m, shifted out and was steadied from the heels of MARCH FORWARD. MARCH FORWARD – Near the 500m, shifted out and steadied from the heels of THAWRA. Race 9: BOQ WINSTON GLADES QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1350 metres BOOM SHOT – Slow to begin. At a point near the 800m, obliged to steady from heels when the pace of the race slackened. CRIPPS TONITE – Jockey B Thompson reported that his mount over raced in the early and middle stages. SPOOKY SPIRIT – Jockey T Harrison reported that her mount laid in under pressure in the home straight, placing her at a disadvantage. BIRDONAWING – At a point near the 800m, obliged to steady from heels when the pace of the race slackened. Jockey M Potgieter the rider of COCOBREW EXPRESS was reminded of his obligations and to be mindful to not overly steady the pace. Held up rounding the home turn. THE GIRL'S BOY (NZ) – Raced wide from the 700m. HATTUSA – Restrained from the wide barrier to obtain cover. SIZZLING GAL – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Race 10: PRECINCT URBAN PLANNING Class 4 Handicap 1200 metres REJOICED – After passing the 100m, shifted out abruptly and became unbalanced when its rider was obliged to stop riding and straighten. DOLLOP – Raced wide. TIDAL RUSH – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn and was obliged to stop riding and alter course after passing the 100m to avoid the heels of the weakening BYRON EYES. ROCKLILY – Connections advised that it is the intention for the mare to be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. However, was then slow to begin and as a result settled midfield. HOPEFUL STAR – Raced wide without cover throughout. Cast its near-fore plate in running.
