Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting-
 
Race 5 – CONTRERAS – Jag Guthmann-Chester +1kg
Race 7 – PARALELL – James Orman +1kg
 
Race 1: 1 FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS Two-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
BOOMSTER – Raced wide throughout.
 
NOT SO COMMON (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J Orman stated that ideally he would have liked to lead but after being obliged to race wide throughout, he was satisfied with the performance.  A post-race veterinary examination determined the colt to be stepping short in its forelimbs. Co-Trainer A Bott was advised that the colt would require a veterinary certificate prior to next racing.
 
RICH AGAIN – Approaching the 250m, severally checked when SONNY DAZE was taken in when awkwardly placed at the heels of THE LUCKY ALIEN which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.
 
SONNY DAZE – Began awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn. Approaching the 250m, taken in abruptly when racing inside the heels of THE LUCKY ALIEN which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
THE LUCKY ALIEN – Began awkwardly. Near the 250m, shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider, causing interference. Trainer G Cornish was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
Race 2: QTIS Two-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
BANGETTA – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn. Approaching the 100m, laid in under pressure, tightening runners to its inside and obliging MISHANI MYSTIQUE to be inconvenienced. Trainer’s representative was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing manners.
 
BLACK MINTO – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 900m, was awkwardly placed at heels and steadied. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHAMPAGNE BENDER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced greenly in the early stages of the home straight. Near the 200m, was hampered when HEROIC SOPHIE shifted out and away from VERY SEWREEL which was racing greenly.
 
DIVINE GEM – Began awkwardly. When tiring entering the home straight, steadied from the heels of MISHANI MYSTIQUE which shifted in.
 
HEROIC SOPHIE – Slow to begin. Near the 200m, shifted out and away from VERY SEWREEL which was racing greenly.
 
MISHANI MYSTIQUE – Held up rounding the home turn. Near the 100m, obliged to steady when placed in restricted room between LIGHTSCAMERAACTION and BANGETTA which laid in. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, jockey B Thornton stated that after beginning well, it was his intention to take cover on the filly. However, in the early part of the race when pressure was applied by runners to his outside, jockey Thornton was obliged to settle a pair further back than anticipated. Jockey Thornton was of the view that the filly was not entirely comfortable racing on todays track conditions. Jockey Thornton also suggested to trainer L Ross that the filly may benefit from the addition of blinkers next start. Trainer L Ross advised that there were no riding instructions issued.
 
VERY SEWREEL – Raced wide throughout.  Near the 200m, laid out under pressure.
 
Race 3: BLONDIES POWDER COATING Maiden Plate 1350 metres
 
CRYPTO TYCOON – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid out rounding the home turn. When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, jockey D Thornton advised that in his opinion the gelding did not appreciate todays track conditions.
 
KNIGHT'S CHOICE – Held up from rounding the home turn until a point leaving the 100m. Inconvenienced and was steadied from the heels of EASY COMPANY which shifted out abruptly approaching the finish line.
 
RAINEWATER – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
AMALFI QUEEN – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
EASY COMPANY – Shifted out abruptly approaching the finish line.
 
FRENCH STEP – Raced wide until a point leaving the 800m. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 4: THE LAWN SHED Class 1 Handicap 1350 metres
 
VANCITY – Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 7:52am. Trainer G Baker was fined $200 pursuant to LR68(1) for failing to scratch VANCITY within the prescribed time.
 
ENUNCIATION – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
KALUMBURU – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
ULTIMATE OUTCOME – As Jockey J Huxtable was unable to make the weight for acceptable reasons, he was replaced by jockey B Thompson as the rider of the gelding.
 
ISLES OF AVALON – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after a mishap in the Raceday tie-ups and was cleared to start. The mare which led and tired over the concluding stages underwent a post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey K Wilson-Taylor advised that in his opinion the mare did not appreciate todays track conditions and may have found todays distance not to its liking.
 
SURREEL – Improved onto heels approaching the 200m and obliged to ease wider to secure clear running.
 
SUKICHE – Began awkwardly.
 
GENERAL WOLFFE – Obliged to alter course to avoid the heels of the tiring ISLES OF AVALON.
 
RUN RAMPANT – Raced wide until a point approaching the 800m.
 
Race 5: SEVEN FAMILY DAY 27 MAY Class 3 Handicap 1700 metres
 
MAKEDON – Began awkwardly.
 
PATMOS ISLAND – Jockey N Evans was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount through to the line.
 
GRECIAN LASS – Raced keenly in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain the leading position leaving the 1200m. Shifted out under pressure leaving the 200m. Jockey T Harrison reported that it was not her intention to lead, however when the pace of the race was slow, she allowed her mount to stride forward.
 
CONTRERAS – Restrained at the start to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
SELLING SUNSET – Trainer B Mahon advised that the mare would be sent for a spell.
 
PICK ZA BEANS – Slow to begin. After commencing a forward movement leaving the 500m, was forced wider by another runner rounding the home turn.
 
Race 6: TAB IPSWICH CUP TIX ON SALE BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1200 metres
 
STICK TO YOUR GUNS – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
AMORE VELOCE – Jockey B Thompson reported that in his opinion the mare did not appreciate todays track conditions.
 
WEGOBAM – Began awkwardly.
 
ATOMIC SELFIE – Leaving the 800m, forced wider when STICK TO YOUR GUNS improved to its inside. Raced wide from that point onwards.
 
TITANIUM – Slow to begin.
 
DIANA'S AFFAIR – Slow to begin. Jockey J Orman reported that in his opinion the gelding did not appreciate todays track conditions.
 
HE'S THE NEWS – Began awkwardly. Jockey K Wilson-Taylor reported that in his opinion the gelding did not appreciate todays track conditions.

MISHANI SPARTAN – Slow to begin, shortly thereafter was hampered and lost ground.
 
BURNT BY BERNIE – Began awkwardly.
 
DIVINE PURPOSE – Hampered on jumping. Bumped with KALEA on several occasions rounding the home turn.
 
DARK CHILL – Bumped on jumping. When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice J Lloyd was of the view that the gelding was rising sharply in distance and may not have appreciated todays track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities other than a post-race cough.
 
PARALLEL – Very slow to begin. Trainer’s representative Mr B Killion was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Held up approaching the home turn. Jockey J Orman reported that his mount travelled comfortably throughout the event, however when placed under pressure in the home straight, proved disappointing.
 
AMALGAMATION – Slow to begin, shortly thereafter was tightened between runners and lost ground.
 
KALEA – Bumped with DIVINE PURPOSE on several occasions rounding the home turn.
 
MR PLUME (NZ) – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 550m. Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
Race 8: FESTIVAL OF HORSEPOWER BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1100 metres
 
MISS HIPSTAR – When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice C Graham advised that the mare travelled well, however when placed under pressure in the home straight, proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
TWO YA GOT – Raced wide throughout.
