SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Eagle Farm 15th July 2023 Race 3 Benchmark 78 Hdcp CARBONETTI: Stable representative for C Waller, Mr B Killion reported that on return to the stables CARBONETTI had bled from one nostril. Mr Killion was advised under the provisions of AR 79(8) the horse must gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to next racing.

From Eagle Farm 15th July 2023 Race 5 Three-Year-Old Hdcp CLASSIC GAL: Trainer B Brown reported on return to the stables CLASSIC GAL had been treated for swelling to the nearside eye, consistent with having been struck by a clod during the race, adding he would be continuing with its current racing preparation.

From Kilcoy 2nd July Race 5 Maiden Plate 1500m:
Stewards today inquired into the riding actions of jockey R. Jamieson (SUPER SWEET) over the concluding stages of the race. Evidence was taken from jockeys R. Jamieson and M. Hellyer (CAERUS) and the viewing of the official steward’s footage. R. Jamieson stated that her mount was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight, which required her to place pressure on her outside rein to keep her mount straight. She added that approaching the finish her mount had laid in resulting in a shift in her weight, which resulted in her becoming off balance, extending her right hand out and contacting CAERUS. Stewards in considering all evidence, were of the opinion CAERUS had continued to shift ground outwards from the entering the home straight, to a point approaching the winning post approximately three strides from the line, where CAERUS brushed SUPER SWEET, which when laying in, resulted in R. Jamieson becoming unbalanced and extending her right arm out, making contact with CAERUS. In considering the matter, Stewards did not believe the evidence supported a serious charge of improper riding against R. Jamieson, and that there was enough video evidence to corroborate jockey Jamieson’s evidence. Stewards did however caution R. Jamieson and reminded her to in future ride so as not to open herself to question.
