SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
GENERAL
Stewards approved the following jockeys to ride overweight.
Race 1 – James Orman plus 1kg @ 56.5kg.
Race 5 – Justin Huxtable plus 1/2kg at 56.5kg.
 
Race 8 – Trainer D. Vandyke was fined $500 pursuant to LR 68(1) after failing to scratch HOLLYWOOD PARK (NZ) within the prescribed time, subsequently costing an emergency a run.
 
Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB MAIDEN PLATE 2210M
 
AGRO AGAIN – Near the 1600m, raced in restricted room to the inside of LADY MATILDA and as a result, contacted the running rail, then shifted out abruptly, contacting BROOKLYN DASH. G. Cartwright rider of LADY MATILDA was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR 131(a) in that near the 1600m she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in, tightening the running of ARGO AGAIN ridden by J. Guthmann-Chester causing that runner to make contact with the running rail, shift out and bump with BROOKLYN DASH ridden by D. Thornton which became unbalanced and was inconvenienced. Jockey Cartwrights license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight the 2nd of October and expire midnight the 10th of October.  
 
MEDIEVAL CROWN (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
NASSAU COUNTY – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
ROYAL GEORGE – Slow to begin. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
SMELTER (IRE) – Near the 1600m was inconvenienced and as a result shifted wider.
 
BID FOR FAME (NZ) –When asked to comment on the performance of the mare, Jockey J. Orman could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BROOKLYN DASH – Near the 1600m, bumped by AGRO AGAIN which shifted out when tightened by LADY MATILDA and as a result became unbalanced and raced ungenerously for a short distance. Leaving the 200m was bumped by OUTA TAORMINA which shifted out to improve.
 
FURTHERING – Slow to begin. Held up approaching the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
LADY MATILDA – Jockey G. Cartwright reported that the mare felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in its off fore. The mare was subsequently treated on course. Trainer I. Livingstone was advised that it would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming. Jockey G. Cartwright was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, which is 1 more than permitted.
 
OUTA TAORMINA – Held up approaching the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.  
 
Race 2: CONTRACT CHEFS AUSTRALIA CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1710M
 
VITESSE FRANCAIS – Held up approaching the home turn then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight. When asked to comment on the tactics adopted, Jockey J. Orman stated that the gelding was inclined to lay in throughout the event, proving difficult to ride. He further added that he was unable to improve to the outside of TEE AMICI passing the 600m as he was positioned inside the heels of FOXY FRAULIEN. Stewards noted his comments.
 
DUKE OF GORDON (NZ) – Over raced in the early stages.
 
BAY STREET – Slow to begin.
 
TEE AMICI – When asked to comment on the tactics adopted, Jockey G. Cartwright stated her instructions were to lead on the gelding, however from the wide barrier had to pressure her mount to cross to the fence, subsequently commenced to over race, proving very difficult to settle in the event. Stewards noted her comments.
 
JAKKALBERRY FINN (NZ) – Held up in the home straight.
 
Race 3: BLONDIES POWDER COATING MAIDEN HANDICAP 1350M
 
PRIVATE MESSAGE – Began awkwardly and contacted the barrier partition.
 
A DIME APPROACH – Slow to begin.
 
GOLD PRINCE – Rider T. Marshall reported to Stewards at scale that GOLD PRINCE was inclined to hang out throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed to be lame in its near hind. Trainer P. Busuttin was advised the colt would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
 
IKNOWICANFLY – Slow to begin.
 
Race 4: VINCE INSURANCE CLASS 1 PLATE 1350M
 
BASSAC LANE – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
BIG TICKET BOY – Raced wide throughout. Approaching the home turn, veered off the track despite the efforts of its rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer L. Gough was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
 
RUN RAMPANT – Raced wide with cover.
 
JESTER STATEMENT – Slow to begin.
 
TEE CEE TIGER – Bumped on jumping.
 
EPAUVESCENT – Jockey L. Cassidy was reminded of his obligations to pressure his mounts through the line.
 
Race 5: LIVING TURF RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 800M
 
MAGURO – Approaching the 50m, shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.
 
BONGANI – Near the 50m, was bumped across the heels of I AM THOR when PRINCESS MARIAN was taken in by MAGURO.
 
RUSSIAN DIVA – Near the 500m awkwardly placed on the heels of RUSSIAN PINS and was obliged to steady. Apprentice Wheeler and Jockey Guthmann-Chester were advised to exercise greater care when crossing.  Laid out under pressure approaching the 100m.
 
PRINCESS MARIAN – Near the 50m, was taken in when MAGURO shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
HERO'S TRINKET – Near the 150m, HERO’S TRINKET bumped with MINOKAWA and became unbalanced.
 
MINOKAWA – Slow to begin. Leaving the 150m was bumped.
 
RUSSIAN PINS – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
Race 6: TAB RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1200M
 
BOOMI'S BUDDY – Inclined to lay out approaching the home turn.
 
TRUE PATRIOT – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
BEAU WITNESS – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey J. Orman reported it wasn’t his intention to lead but after beginning well away and with limited speed shown to his inside, he elected to allow the gelding to stride forward. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
YES TO EXCESS – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have speedy cuts on its off hind fetlock.
 
ELLIE'S DREAM – Slow to begin. Approaching the home turn, steadied from the heels of BOOMI’S BUDDY before shifting out. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running leaving the 150m. Inclined to lay in entering the home straight.
 
MOUNT PADRAO – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 7: KINGSLEY LAWSON LAWYERS OPEN HANDICAP         1350M
 
GAVE US UP – Raced in restricted room approaching the finishing line and was steadied when COLLAY’S SPIRIT laid in. Jockey S. Cormack was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.  
 
ACROBATIC – Over raced in the middle stages. Held up approaching the home turn until a point passing the 200m. When asked to comment tactics, Jockey L. Cassidy stated that near the 600m he was unable to improve as he was covered by BOLD WARRIOR. Held up after that point and jockey Cassidy was satisfied with its finishing effort when considering the circumstances. Stewards noted his comments.
 
TAPILDOODLEDO (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BOLD WARRIOR – Raced wide throughout.
 
COLLAY'S SPIRIT (NZ) – Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
IRING – Slow to begin.
 
SCOTTISH PRINCE – A pre-race veterinary examination found the gelding to have a small laceration on its tongue and was subsequently cleared to start. Slow to begin.
 
Race 8: RAY WHITE IPSWICH CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1350M
 
SEA PALLING – Began awkwardly, shifted in, bumped on the hind quarters, and became unbalanced.
 
MOTION LEGEND – Hampered between runners on jumping and lost ground. Approaching the home turn bumped with SEA PALLING.
 
 
DIVINE COURAGE – Began very awkwardly, shifted out, bumped with MOTION LEGEND, and lost ground. Held up approaching the home turn, obliged to shift back near the inside to attempt to secure clear running.
 
TURN UP THE NIGHT (NZ) – Forced wider on the track when SEA PALLING shifted out to improve. When asked to comment on tactics adopted today, Jockey D. Thornton stated that from a wide barrier, he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated and was mindful not to be caught racing wide. Stewards noted his comments.
